Dr. James Nace

Dr. Nace always takes the time to answer my questions and provide thoughtful recommendations based on my personal situation. He recently performed a knee replacement surgery. His team kept me informed before, during, and after the surgery. I think that has been a big contributor to how well my recovery is going.

Both in the office and at the hospital the professional and non professional staff were very efficient, courteous and effective .

I've had many surgeries (sports related), seen many Doctors. Some great, some less than great. Dr. Nace is very much one of the few great ones. I'm not far enough out of recovery at all to know the long term results, but regardless, I can say that I have 100% confidence that I have the best doctor possible and he has done the best procedure possible to correct the condition that my knee was in prior to surgery. I went into this surgery, one of the most difficult and complicated I've had, knowing that I could not have found a more perfect Doctor. I've had enough surgeries to know that two things are most important, an anesthesia Dr. who wakes you up after and a highly skilled surgeon. The rest of it all is down the pecking order list of importance. After more than half a dozen consults with other surgeons it became crystal clear to me that Dr. Nace was the one. Dr. Nace has given me real hope where others were not willing to look or go. He is a true, dedicated and skilled unsung hero.

Dr. Nace did an amazing job fixing the mess that two hip surgeries elsewhere had left me with. He told me he specializes in “complicated repairs”, and he was so right. He’s confident, but not in a bad way—in a way that makes you feel comfortable as a patient in his care. I also saw that his bedside manner in dealing with both patients and their families is excellent. I would highly recommend him and his team.

I worked with Dr. Nace for well over a year to delay a joint replacement. When the time was right he and his team stepped in to help me navigate the process with ease and confidence. The administrative staff was helpful in scheduling all pre-operative requirements. Dr. Nace, his Resident, and the pre-op educator answered all my questions and concerns. On the day of surgery I felt the pre-op, anesthesia, surgical and recovery team took excellent care of me. I'm glad I stayed overnight on 4 North. The staff there were plesant, professional and responsive to my needs. With one OT and two PT visits I was safely back on my feet and ready to continue my recovery at home. Since home, I've been in regular contact with one RIAO nurse who is overseeing my progress. I can't imagine a better team effort.

I just reached the one-year mark for my second hip replacement. It's been seventeen months since my first. Based on my experience, there is no Doctor better than Dr. Nace, and I can assure anyone looking for a surgeon for joint replacement will not find a better and more committed doctor than Dr. Nace. His skill and dedication totally transformed my life from an existence defined by pain to my current reality of being 100% free of debilitating suffering. My result was achieved because I was determined to follow his aftercare recovery procedures. I am truly grateful and thankful for Dr. Nace and everyone on his team.

Smartest decision ever made

My hip replacement surgery went smoothly. The complications I encountered were mostly pain management related over the first 4 days once completely controlled everything has been going very smoothly.

Dr Nace is not only an excellent Dr, but his people skills, compassion, empathy, ability to listen to understand and not reply is phenomenal. Although I know I’m not, he treats me as if I’m his only patient, and that’s important to me.

The entire staff was top notch. From the pre op evaluation to the nurses at time of discharge after surgery, I was always informed and felt confident about my level of care

Dr. James Nace is not only one of the most talented in his field, but he's an all-around nice guy. Other doctors made mistakes that he tried many times to correct for me. And while I still cannot walk because my body kept rejecting the hardware with severe bacterial infections, that had nothing to do with him. He always tried his very best and was most encouraging. He's brilliant and uses innovative methods, quite patient and clearly explains everything pertaining to his patients' conditions, and his bedside manner is outstanding. I highly recommend Dr. Nace, especially for complicated orthopedic cases!

Dr Nace is a very good doctor can tell you exactly what you need to know he performed my mom and hip surgery and my brother's surgery and now my surgery for my right knee for replacement he made me feel comfortable to staff at the hospital were very nice and answer all my questions and keeping up with you on the portal in case you have any extra questions when you get home I will recommend him to anyone I've already did since I've been home I recommended him to one of my friends

Dr. Nace has operated on my knee (total knee replacement) and my hip (total hip replacement). He has a great bedside manor and explains his treatment plan well. His surgical skills are excellent. I would recommend him to anyone without Reservation.

I have now had a total revision to both knees with Dr. Nace. Both times has been with great success. I would recommend him to anybody for a total knee replacement or revision.

On December 27, 2018, I had a Total Knee Replace with Dr. Nace. He's a cool Dr who makes you smile when you see his face. The surgery was successful and Dr. Nace and his crews are AMAZING. It might sound crazy, I was soooooo excited to have this surgery done. His crews introduced themselves one by one as they were entering the room and I forgotten their names, except Dr. Nace who I'll always remember as long as I live. BRAVO Dr. Nace and Your Crews. ????? On October 28 ,2020, I had my first visit with Dr. Nace 2yrs after I had my surgery. I was happy to see Dr. Nace. He said, my knee looked Great and my next appointment is October 27, 2021.

Very pleasant experience. Surgery was performed professionally and the apparent outcome was excellent. The use of 'glue' on the insision resulted in no bleeding and very little pain. I would recommend Dr. Nace very highly for anyone needing hip replacement surgery.

I had a dislocation of my 15 year old hip replacement and required a revision of the replacement.

I feel like I had the run around with Dr. James Nace at Sinai hospital in Baltimore MD. I was given the wrong paperwork to give to the Doctor by the reception twice and was told by Dr. Nace that I had to have exrays when I came back the next appointment and that they were going to do the exrays there in the office. I had to go back to Northwest hospital and the triage nurse told me that I was supposed to have outpatient X-rays. I told her that Dr. Nace told me that he was going to do the exrays there at the office. The triage nurse told me not to worry about it that they would do the exrays there at the hospital

All of my care aids from the hospital to home have been wonderful along with the doctor and his staff

I saw Dr. Nace today the whole office runs so smooth from the front desk to the x-ray techs everyone does a great job. Dr. Nace has a wonderful bed side manner if i could have all of my Dr's treat me like Dr. Nace (in a Perfect world) he is patient and understanding but also he gives you options. I am pleased with my visit and I recommend him to anyone who needs orthopedic care.

I had my knee replaced 2 weeks ago and from day1 since i was diagnosed to have OA of knee he was there for me as my doctor. Great doctor and very compassionate to his patient. He has a good beside manner and never fail to answer all the doubts and questions of his patient. He make sure his patients will be rounded and if he’ll not be able to visit them he’ll call. I admired his dedication to his profession that day when i had my surgery, it was already late and i can see that he was tired but he made sure to visit me before he left. For all the time that i had my knee pain he tried to give me the treatment to ease the pain and never he suggested to me about the surgery thou’ i know replacement is the only way to treat the OA because i am a nurse. He waited for me to decide and tell him “i’m ready”. Hopefully i can recover fully and help him to care people after their surgery. He is truly a good and caring doctor at Sinai Hospital.I’m proud to know him as a colleague and my surgeon.

Dr. Nace listens to what you have to say. And takes his time to find out what's going on.

The care I received from the start, my initial visit, to the very end has been excellent. Dr. Nace, his team and Sinai's team were with me every step of the way. They kept me informed and answered all my questions at all times.

Dr Nace was recommended to me by family friend and I was very pleased with every visit. He is very caring and straight forward. Answered all my questions and concerns as well as educated me on options and what to expect from every procedure. Dr Nace listened and addressed my issues thoroughly, where as I have experienced the opposite response from too many doctors. Have already suggested him to family and friends. He is not the closest orthopedic practice for me but well worth the drive.

I have been under Dr. Nace care for over five years. I had no cartridges in my knee he spoke with me about what needed to take place to heal my knee.But letting me know that it would be a decision that I have to make along with my family. He was always so patient and so understanding and willing to answer any questions allowing me to make that decision without rushing me in the process. When I decided to have the surgery Dr. Nace and his staff begin communicating with me on a daily basis I felt like they were really caring and took the time to explain the procedure to me. After my surgery Dr. Nace and his team visit me on a daily basis in the hospital and continue to keep communicate with me while I was home answer any questions that may have had someone always got back with me.

He was extremely knowledgeable and he took the time to explain everything and answer all of my questions.

Dr nace is a very good surgion. He replaced my right knee in 2015. I trust Dr nace and his staff.

Dr Naze is very attentive and is very knowledgeable.

Dr Nace just completed my left knee and also my right hip. VERY knowledgeable. He is great, but his support staff is hard to get a hold of. This week waited 27 minutes and had to hang up without talking to anyone.

Over a perod of time I've had several doctors involved in my case. Dr. Nace is by far the best. He instills confidence in me that he has the expertise and skills required.

I've been a patient of Dr Nace since 5/2013 and have had right and left rotator surgery's and 8/19 a hip replacement. What I like in addition to his surgical skill is his straight forward mannerisms. Makes it easier to accept what your going to endure. I would recommend him to anyone.

Dr. Nace is a wonderful doctor. I came to him for a second opinion after two hip replacement. He explained what the problem was and how he was going to fix it. His staff is so helpful and understanding.

Dr. Nace is phenomenal! I have been thrilled with the total knee replacement he did for me in August of 2018. Within 6 months I was running sprints again without pain. From the very beginning, Dr. Nace has treated me like I was part of his family. He has shown so much authentic enthusiasm for my recovery, that it inspires me to continue to improve in my recovery. I cannot say enough about how gifted he as an orthopedic surgeon! Additionally, he has great people skills and has built a tremendous team around him who also have encouraged and inspired me in my recovery. In my 61 years of life, I have never met any surgeon with his level of gifts and talent.

I was operated in another state with one complication after another. After my third infection, we decided to come to Baltimore to see Dr. Nace who immediately took over my care and was able to finally determine the problem and using state of the art options come up with a solution that finally cured a 5 month and three surgery illness. We are very grateful!

Very nice, very clear, good listener.

Dr Nace and his team are very caring and compassionate. This is my second hip replacement with Dr Nace and their attention to the particulars were as if it was my first time having hip replacement, carefully reviewing all the information and not assuming I knew it all from last time. All without being condescending but truly concerned for my well being.
