Dr. Porter, although a very busy surgeon, took the time to ensure that my questions were completely answered and that my experience and my outcome were the best that he could possibly offer. My prostatectomy surgery surpassed my expectations with regard to my care, comfort, and outcome. Dr. Porter's skill and experience and Swedish's care has resulted in my recovery with minimal negative outcomes.

I had a partial kidney removal. Dr Porter saved my kidney, where others thought the whole kidney would need to be removed , he didn't . I would strongly recommend him, an amazing doctor. I owe him for saving my kidney and giving me peace of mind.

Family history and a recommended biopsy by Dr Chapman showed a Gleason of 7(3+4). Dr. Porter did the procedure using DaVinci robotic method. No evidence of pc outside the prostate margins. 3 years of 6 month undetectable results using ultra sensitive PSA tests (>.03). The whole procedure went well start to finish. Dr Porter is one of the top DaVinci robotic surgeons on the West Coast. Recommended by a friend who had successful Robotic surgery with Dr. Porter. One side benefit…previously, I had ‘Benign Hyperplasia of the prostate.(enlarged prostate bulging into the bladder)… Removing the prostate not only eliminated the cancer but also I now urinate high volumes instead of the frequent short dribbles.

I am a surgeon myself so when I was diagnosed with Stage IIA Seminoma, I did my research. I visited the top 5 cancer centers in the country for opinions, and selected Dr. Porter for his expertise and experience with the Da Vinci robot for RPLND. I was nervous going in, but I do not regret my choice over other treatment options. I had a 1 day inpatient stay and Hcg returned to normal 5 days post op. If you are a candidate for RPLND, this is the surgeon to meet.
