I saw dr tankersly a few years back. He did both of my oral surgeries, for wisdom teeth removal. I actually had 5 wisdom teeth. He was wonderful both times. Very professional, helpful & sweet. My bf needs his wisdom tooth removed so I went ahead and made him an appointment w/ dr tankersly Bc he’s the absolute best in Greenville!!!

10/10 Literally called 10 different places about getting 2 PAINFUL molars pulled (#2 and #15) and got told I’d have to wait a month to be seen. I tried one last place, this one, and they gave me the same answer. A minute later I get a call back and was told someone canceled so I got seen the next day! The Dr and his assistant were so nice and understanding. Asked for anesthesia and it was scheduled the next day! It’s been 3 weeks since the procedure and I am so happy. The pain relief was instant but now I’m back to eating all my favorite foods again. My daughter has had oral surgery and I have had a procedure done here as well. Dr Tankersley is awesome and his staff is friendly. Thanks for fixing us up!

I've been to Dr. Tankersley twice & both experiences were awesome. He has a very gentle touch, never hurt me & takes the time to answer any of your questions. His staff is friendly & helpful. I definitely recommend him if you're looking for an oral surgeon.

I'm sorry to say that I have had terrible swelling since the surgery on 9/29/20- (Tuesday)-In addition a large bruise on my lower chin- he placed a partial on the same day. I went to my dentist to get it removed with some difficulty on 10/1/20 (Thursday)-today is 10/3/20 (Saturday) and my dentist advised to leave the partial out until the swelling is gone (for a week) will go back on 10/8/20-(Thursday) to my local dentist. My jaw bone is very sore with lots of swelling. I've been bed ridden for a week with Ice packs-Tylenol and Hydrocodone. I am not blaming the dentist- just very unfortunate. Just felt like Dr. Tankersley should know. Disappointed that there was no follow up by him. Regards, H. Keith Skipper

Even though he & his staff seem friendly my review will not be based on that. Twice he stopped & asked if i wanted to come back to be sedated. Once before we began stating my insurance doesn't cover it so it would be $300 & again during what should have been a quick & painless extraction. I've always seen another dentist but he does not take my insurance, so i thought I'd give this office a try. After 8 shots my mouth was not numb at all (other dentist does 5), he decided to start finally & once i made a noise in pain he asked again if I would like him to stop & let me go home with this tooth half way out. I felt everything & not just pressure. At this point when he asked if I'd like him to stop he was very cold & far from understanding. Dr. Tankersley did a great job removing my wisdom teeth. I was nervous about the procedure, but he made it so quick and easy!

I highly recommend dr. Tankersley probably one of the best oral surgeons I've been to no pain at all when he pulled my tooth. Never even felt him give me a shot. The staff and nurses are awesome as well two thumbs up great job guys thanks for your help ,God bless.

Very fast and professional

???? HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND RUDE STAFF !!!! Dr Tankersley is VERY rude and nonchalant. During my 7min consultation, and telling him what I felt (pressure from my wisdom teeth growing in the wrong way) across my bottom front teeth, he cuts me off in mid sentence, to let me know "well hunni, your wisdom teeth aren't in the front they're back here." while pointing and TOUCHING my face.....*BLANK STARE* ...I'm thinking to myself, DUH !!! So, I let that slide. Waited WEEKS to see what my insurance would cover because they still use the mail instead of fax or email. Went in, paid my $204, they called me back, and started my iv. 20mins later, Dr Tankersley was waking me up; shaking my shoulders ...telling me he was going to be unable to perform the procedure because I wouldn't stay asleep....while handing me a receipt to sign for a refund. A nurse walked us out the back door all the way to our car, and sent me one my way ! Left me in pain from where he tried to pull my wisdom tooth. Called the office a few days later to apologize if I was combative, they said "no, he actually left a note and said you were a nice patient"....Well, thank you Dr Tankersley but you are one RUDE INDIVIDUAL !!!! Was a wonderful experience before and during extractions

I was in awful pain with a broke off wisdom tooth and Dr. Tankersley had me numb and tooth out in no time. His staff are very nice and I would recommend his service to any and all. He is reasonably priced compared to anyone in the upstate.

Staff was nice and dentist was awesome. .had 3 teeth pulled..didn't feel a thing..I was really impressed. .it was the first dentist I had ever been to that didn't hurt me..he just told me to relax and wiggle my fingers..it works..oh you have to wiggle your feet and hum. I had 3 wisdom teeth extracted, and the whole process went very well. Everyone at the office was very nice. I don’t have any insurance and the price was very reasonable as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. I highly recommend Dr. Tankersley.

It was quick and painless.

Most caring Doctor and staff that I’ve ever had to see. He not only removed a tooth for me several years back but also removed one for my 9 year old son who is terrified of the dentist. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. He explains everything before he does it and definitely goes the extra mile for his patients. All the nurses and staff are extremely nice and very professional as well. Highly recommend this Doctor!!!

No regrets! Dr. Tankersley removed my older daughter's wisdom teeth 4 years ago. Today was my younger daughter's opportunity to meet him. His staff was friendly, and the doctor jovial and put my daughter at ease. He explained in terms she could understand what to expect before, during, and after the procedure, then asked whether we had any questions. The guy is a jerk! Along with staff. They pulled my wife's 4 wisdom teeth in 30 min... and rushed his instructions as I was greeting my wife after the procedure. He proceeded to raised his voice at me and told me to listen. Do not recommend at all.

I wish I could give zero stars becuase one star is being really nice. I will never go here again. I had my left upper wisdom tooth removed about 5 months ago and still have a massive amount of pain on the entire left side of my mouth. I had my right upper wisdom tooth removed by a different dentist last december and had no problems whatsoever and it healed percectly. The procedure took 5 minutes which was very strange to me and aftwards he told me I could eat whatever I wanted, pizza to be exact which was also very strange. For months after the left side of my face was so swollen and the pain started going to my ear and head, my coworkers would ask me what was wrong and if I was okay. To this day I can't eat on the left side of my mouth, soft foods or not everything makes it hurt. I called other dentists to see if they could look at it but they all told me to go back to the dentist that did it. I went back to the office and had it "looked" at because he told me to come back in. He was extremely rude to me and my dad and didn't have any explanation as to why it was still hurting and said there was nothing he could, he then pushed us out the back door. He is so unprofessional, he yelled at me spoke to me like a child. Worst experience of my life that I still have to deal with every day thanks to whatever he did to my mouth. Unprofessional!!! They want cash in hand. If you have insurance they make you wait another month after your consultation because they verify through mail only! It's 2017 why aren't you using fax or email? He's in it for th cash! I called everyday to see if they had received anything from my insurance company because I was in so much pain! The last at the front desk told me if I had $480 they would pull them tomorrow! So what's the point of having dental insurance? He's rude also. I told him I was in pain he told me he don't write prescriptions well it's his dumb 3-4 week wait policy that has me in pain so why not? I was told to go back to my dentist! He did my tooth extraction with out a long schedule. .i admit the office staff seem scary and not very warm to customers they can change that id give better rating.the dentist knew what he was doing and was proffessioal..got the job done.gave a script but ask for remainder payment before anything or allowing you leave so have a credit card or cash..they will not bill you. You get reimbursed from insurance company 2 weeks later thought that was weird but due process i assumed.i will go back because the dentist did the work not the staff. If he keeps doing good work id recommended him but from other reviews i can tell he may not treats all customers the same.i suggest you not come with an attitude even if your in pain they are not and will move slow and look unconcerned .but the dentist can do the work with his eyes closed..i was sleepy and very numb so i hope he didnt.just saying" not your typical happy joy joy kid dentist with stickers and toys but fixed my problem. My names Jennifer and I had the bottom right tooth pulled out on nov1 my experience was good but when it came to pay 3:40cents the doctor got a attitude with me. I rate them on 5 stars for good pulling out my tooth and making me comfortable but the customer service could have been better

This month has been horrible..I was very sick at the beginning and then while trying to be proactively going to the dentist to get a cavity filled (that wasn't bothering me) that 2 weeks ago I thought about pulling it out myself...suffering in pain..not being able to eat..I go to the dentist Friday after she called me in antibiotics (that I took a week and half before she saw me) took an X-ray and said I needed oral surgery and referred me to someone that couldn't see me to the end of November...so I called around probably about 20 places till I got someone to see me today..let's just say he was awesome and help me and took that thang out my head immediately..and I can already tell a difference..Upstate Dental Surgery Dr. Tankersley thank you so much for helping me, in and out without waiting hours..ur a true blessing!! I'm very impressed with Dr. Tankersley. I was referred to him by a friend who had wonderful things to say about him, and he was right. I had, by far, the best experience I've ever had with a dentist. Had to have a tooth pulled and it went so incredibly smoothly I can't even believe it! I had sedation, and when he put the IV in that was painless - I've had quite a few IVs in my time and they're usually pretty painful going in. Then the actual tooth extraction was gentle, painless and amazingly quick. I just can't say enough how impressed I am with Dr. Tankersley. Very thankful I went to him for this extraction. Dr Tankersley he and staff are exceptional. I've seen him few times several years ago he surgically removed my wisdom teeth. Also today Dr Tankersley extracted a failed dental implant I called Friday and was worked in for today. He's an amazing young man that participates in mission trips, kind, compassionate and humble. In addition I lost my job due to an extended medical leave hence no medical insurance. Dr Tankersley is honest and reasonible financial pertaining to his services.

The ladies at the front desk were very short with me and talked down to me. While waiting in the waiting room, I overheard them talking bad about my dentist who referred me here. They are just not nice people and I would not recommend this office to anyone.

I had one tooth extracted and I felt all the pain. There was no conversation between him and I which I thought was kind of unprofessional, all he said to me was you look like your not ok so do I need to reschedule this appointment where you would be put under anesthetics. The staffing there isn't that great, an attitude problem streamed the atmosphere. All I wanted more of was at least to feel more warmly welcomed. Recently had a tooth removed and was very nervous about it. Dr. Tankersley and his staff did everything to make it as positive an experience as possible. I enjoyed listening to HIS radio in the background. Highly recommend.

He took all four of my wisdom teeth 9 years ago and did a wonderful job. I was so nervous about getting two molars extracted, but Dr T did an amazing job once again. Although I wasn't able to be sedated this time (insurance), he made it so quick and painless that I honestly didn't need to have been sedated. He's a very nice man, and the receptionists are so sweet. Their office is also very nice. I'd never go anywhere else. Thank you, again! First visit - not so much .... seemed aloof at best ... but in all fairness that was just for an xray requested by my dentist... subsequent visits to do actual work (implants) were great. Very professional, pleasant and open. I'd most definitely recommend him to others. His staff - also very professional and friendly. Great experience overall.

Dr. Tankersley pulled my mom's infected tooth, left an exposed part of infected bone out and let her go home with no antibiotics or pain medicine. A couple hours later she called his after hours number and got no call back. She was in pain all night. The next morning, she went back and he just said let it be. She knew something was wrong and went to her family dentist, who sealed it and gave her antibiotics and pain meds. Good doctor but dropped the ball on this one, and didn't take care of her.
