This review is ridiculously late but I still think of Dr. Rydfors and his team often so wanted to write a review. Dr. Rydfors was my OB when I was pregnant w/ my first and only child at the young age of 43:) Despite everything I read about the possible risks of having a child at an "advanced maternal age" Dr. Rydfors always reassured me and made me feel confident and secure about my body and pregnancy. In addition to being an extremely knowledgeable physician, Dr. Rydfors is an incredible, empathetic communicator and has a magical "calming" effect that impacts everyone when he walks in a room. I had a wonderful delivery and was able to heal quickly which I attribute to Dr. Rydfors' delivery technique and coaching 100%. Thank you so much to Dr. Rydfors and your wonderful team, I will never forget you!

Dr. Rydfors and his team took care of my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies and deliveries. Words alone can not even begin to describe how happy, grateful & thankful we are to them and to Dr. R specifically. It was a wonderful experience. Dr. R is the ultimate combination of professionalism and knowledge while at the same time being warm, human, caring, composed no matter what, calming and reassuring. Each meeting he would take the time to listen to all my questions and answer each one of it. I highly recommend Dr. R and his team. Despite how busy Dr. R is - he was always there to answer any question or concern and made me feel welcome and comfortable. I grew up being skeptical of doctors. Many seem so rooted in western medicine to the point they push interventions and prescriptions and fail to see any value in any other schools of thought. Dr. R. restored my faith in the practice of medicine. His energy skill, presence and knowledge make him hands down the best doctor I have ever met. 5 star doesn't even reflect a gem of a person Dr. Rydfors is. Dr. Rydfors helped us through our complicated pregnancy and is very knowledgable, sincere and is ever so calm and composed. He is almost always very busy so expect longer appointment times.

One of the best doctors I’ve ever seen. Been seeing him for 10 years. He performed an external cephalic version at 38 weeks for my breech baby so that I was able to have a VBAC. Very skilled, informed on all aspects of health, compassionate person.

I am so grateful for Dr. Rydfors. It was a joy having him oversee my 2nd pregnancy and guide us through to a successful VBAC! The ONLY VBAC-supporting doctor in my network, I drove 30 minutes to see him and receive his personalized, thoughtful, patient, critical care. When I shared any worries, he talked me through them, and reassured me all is well. I admire his ability to provide a calm, compassionate atmosphere during each visit despite his hectic, jam-packed schedule. It's true, the hour-long waits are worth it. At one scary moment, I called the emergency line after noting some peculiar symptoms. Wasn't too worried, but called to be sure. Unfortunately, Dr. Rydfors was on vacation so another doc from the practice called me back and instructed me to got to L&D. Once there, she ran several tests which showed no complications. While she heard me say I hoped for a VBAC, while she heard me say I felt completely fine, baby was moving fine, she proceeded to say, "I think I want to keep you overnight, and we might have to do a repeat c-section." I almost lost it. If not for my husband - my super advocate - I wouldn't have found the strength to ask simply: "What if I want to go home?" Whew, we signed papers "against medical advice" and returned to our own space. She made me feel like I was putting my baby's life at risk, like I was crazy, like I was not making "the wise decision." She knew nothing about me/us, our birth plan, our wishes; but most of all, I don't think she REALLY HEARD ME. I felt completely silenced. I was 36 wks pregnant. This experience only brought me to admire Dr. Rydfors even more. Subsequent visits with him which included repeated tests continued to show baby thriving. Dr. Rydfors' demeanor, his body, his face remained relaxed, happy and content with our progress. That kind of energy was vital in this entire process. I went into labor at 40 wks + 3 days, arriving at the hospital at 3 cm dilated but feeling so close to pushing! Labored unmedicated for 13 hours until my body needed a break. Epidural + 3 hours of rest brought me to completion. 9pm, with soft light and the gentle voices of Dr. Rydfors, 2 amazing nurses, my mother & my husband, our baby was born and placed right on my chest! I'm so ready for the next one, most definitely in the care of Dr. Rydfors! Thank you Dr. Rydfors for being a great listener, for your constant faith & trust in our journey as parents seeking a VBAC. Dr. Rydfors is the best doctor I have ever met! He has great judgement and so much experience that he can spot potential pregnancy problems right away after listening carefully to my history. He has a very busy schedule (because he is such an amazing doctor), however, if you have urgent issues and explains to him, he tries his best to accommodate your request as soon as possible. We felt more informed and more in control, while simultaneously feeling an increased confidence in his own knowledge and experience. He expertly strikes a balance that gives us choices without relinquishing his responsibility for the well being of mom and baby. Dr. Rydfors is very much in demand, and consequently a very busy man. Because he often takes the time to work through difficult situations, his schedule can be a bit unpredictable. If you have important obligations shortly after your appointment, consider calling ahead or asking if one of his colleagues can substitute for that day.
