Dr. Jasmine Chao

Unfortunately I have to agree with all of the other reviewers. Now I understand why she always has same day appts available. The entire time you're in her office trying to have a conversation she's staring at her computer typing away (the ENTIRE time). She will charge you for every possible thing she can. I received a statement for $85 for "reviewing" bloodwork I had done. In all my years of going to my previous primary care provider (sadly retired) I was never charged for that. When I called and questioned the charge her FD said "every office is different - some charge for that". Any time I ever need a prescription refilled she declines it (when she prescribes something she never includes refills), so I have to call and go back and fourth with the office about it every single time, before she ends up approving. I wanted it to work with her because of her availability, but sadly I'll be moving on to a new doctor.

As a healthcareworker myself, I appreciate's Dr. Chao's excellent medical service and care. She covers all her bases in what needs to be done with my meds, lab work-up, diagnostic tests in a timely manner. She is very thorough in her medical management . She perfectly understands the challenges of middle -age health concerns and health maintenance. She's phenomenal! World's best doctor! Dr Jasmine Chao the Doctor that has great concern of Caring on every Patient needs.She Prompted patient issues in Medical Care and she easily responsed to patient call.And Most of all she work with a heart and good professional interaction with the patient.

She was more busy with typing on the computer and reporting to the insurance companies than actually having a conversation and understanding the seriousness of my problem.

I made an appointment through NorthShoreConnect to see this doctor. I received a call about AN HOUR BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT, and a desk worker informed me I would no longer be able to see her. I asked why she was cancelling my appointment, and she informed me it was because I was interested in receiving a medical marijuana card, and Chao does not assist with that. I told her it’s okay if this specific doctor cannot help me with that, I’m still willing to come in for other issues I need to address at my appointment. She then told me Chao is no longer available, telling me to go see “another doctor”. I repeatedly asked her why this doctor was not able to do my physical and she again, did not give me any information, repeatedly telling me to “just go see the other doctor”. By far, the smartest and most considerate doctor I've been to. Dr. Chao shows compassion and drive when it comes to your problems and solutions. Dr Chao to me has been amazing, intuitive, and she listens really well. She is the best doctor I’ve ever seen, caring, funny, remembers my past healthy issues better than I do. Explains things well, diagnosis’s well and I can communicate with her over Northshore connect.

I have been a patient of Dr. Jasmine Chao for many years and I have tolerated her rudeness , but after my last visit, I will no longer take her abuse. She is completely unprofessional . I also heard her conversations to other patients even if her exam room door was closed because she is very loud! She has made fun of her patients to me and insulted her staff in front of me and in front of others. She blames Obamacare for everything. She does not know how to interpret the law. She has no time nor the patience to answer and explain my questions and concerns over the phone. I would not recommend Dr Jasmine Chao. There are other doctors out there despite of her self proclamation that she is the best and the only doctor who can get things "happen". Dr. Chao is a marvelous doctor! She takes time to check patients thoroughly. She is very kind and caring person that fits in her chosen profession. She is not after the money, but to take care of her patients with love. I HIGHLY recommend her to other people. I live far from her office but I rather drive far to get a just and a better treatment with her. She tries to go to the root cause of my lung problem. She is a very understanding person. My experience with Dr. Chao was as a re-habilitation patient as a result of complications of a hip surgery, and I am extremely lucky to have had her as my Doctor. I cannot rate the questions regarding scheduling , office or staff, but as far as listening, explaining and amount of quality time spent with you she definitely is a ten star Doctor.

Dr. Chao has been treating me for ten years without any complaints from me. Don't pass her by, she's a good doctor.

Dr. Chao is one of the best doctors I have ever had. She is caring, sweet, understanding and does her job very well. For years we had seen other NorthShore medical professionals and they were great but Dr. Chao is EXCELLENT. Grace her secretary is also super sweet and calls to remind you of your appointments so you do not forget. Dr. Chao is the best Dr. I've ever had! I highly recommend her as a family doctor. First of all, she found out why I was feeling tired during my first visit after a few tests. I've moved around and had 3 family doctors yet none of them cared enough to ask thorough questions. Second, she follows through. She will make every effort to make sure you get well, and she request you to keep her posted. Third, she is very patient in explaining why, how and so what. She will show you text book explanations, videos and you might also walk out with some material on your issues. So you know why you need to take certain actions instead of just following instructions. Last but not least, she is very accessible.
