Dr. Jay M Marumoto

It was my good fortune to be treated by Dr. Marumoto. He is an awesome doctor and person. I felt that he gave me the best possible medical care. He was kind, patient, and gentle. He diagnosed my problem quickly (and without causing me pain) and suggested possible follow-up care. He's very easy to talk to and communicates well.

Dr. Marumoto is very knowledgeable. He has a no nonsense approach. He takes time to explain treatment options, He listens to his patients and genuinely cares. I hope I never need Dr. Marumoto’s services again but for anyone who gets injured, I’d highly recommend seeing him.

It went great better than expected. He is pleasant and great to talk to. I was surprised that he could drain my knee the day I went in. It’s not bad like going to the dentist. I feel great now. I don’t have pains getting up, sleeping with my legs flat on the bed and I’m walking sane as before instead of my knee bent and going slow babying my knee. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Dr. Marumoto has provided excellent care for my husband and me since 2001. He shows real concern for returning mobility and function to the highest level possible, as well as a realistic approach to what our own goals are. We have both had great results from surgical procedures performed by Dr. Marumoto. We highly recommend him.

Dr. Marumoto never seems like he is rushing...but I know he has an overloaded schedule. Also I appreciate his respecting my desire for the "least invasive" treatment.

I completely ruptured my Achilles tendon playing basketball and went to see Dr. Jay Marumoto after being referred by my colleague. Dr. Marumoto diagnosed my full Achilles tear right away when he saw me so he operated on me the next day. What awesome service! He was very attentive, professional and genuinely expressed care and concern on my recovery and treatment. He told me that he performed the same surgery that LA Rams' running back Cam Akers had where he came back on the field on record time. I'm very grateful to be treated by Dr. Marumoto - he is the very best!!

Excellent consultation with explanation of how PT and exercise will help the healing process. Surgery rightfully last resort. Staff courteous and helpful. Parking in building is so easy with wide spaces to drive (unusual in Honolulu!). Takes some of the stress out of having to come see the doctor.

YES, Dr. Jay Marumoto is a great surgeon! I have had several orthopedic repairs done and trust him completely. Dr. Marumoto always takes time for me and really cares about the surgical outcome. A very rare quality. He is clearly at the top of his game and the best ortho doc Hawaii has to offer!

I feel confident in Dr Marumoto's ability to treat my condition. He explains the condition and the treatment and expected outcome. He does not sugar coat the diagnosis; but is forthright. I would have rated him a 5 but I was disappointed that I didn't get to review the xray to see the severity of the fracture. Also, our first meeting was not a pleasant one as he seemed agitated about something else. However, in all subsequent meetings he was truly professional, courteous and friendly. I have already recommended him and would gladly do so again.

Doctor gave me any replacement quite a few years ago it was a little sore I made an appointment and they got me right in took x-rays right away was a very nice visit very professional I felt almost like family thank you Dr and thank you to your team awesome group

Dr. Marumoto and his staff provides excellent service. I felt comfortable from my first video telehealth call, my surgery, and my continued follow ups. He and his staff made sure I was well informed, comfortable, and safe. The surgery center is clean, comfortable, and an overall better environment than a hospital. Before going into ACL reconstructive surgery, I spoke to numerous friends who had the procedure done by various different surgeons. They all said they had extreme pain for a few days following the surgery. I didn't experience any pain at all after my surgery with Dr. Marumoto. With so many orthopedic surgeons out there to chose from, it can be overwhelming trying to determine which one to trust. I can definitely say with confidence, I recommend Dr. Marumoto.

I’m 77 and my knees were absolutely killing me. That dear smart Dr. Marumoto has been so great. First, he took x rays right in his office and spent a lot of time teaching me about knee muscles. He gave me cortisone shots and arranged for weeks of physical therapy near me. His office staff is just like him, caring and professional, I’m so relieved to have found him. No wonder he has won so many awards.

Yesterday was my third visit with Dr. Marumoto for my frozen shoulders. As usual, he was very professional, experienced, patient, and answered all my questions. I never felt rushed during my visits. With combination of PT and cortisone shot, I slept without pain for the first time in months. I highly recommend him.

Dr. Jay was referred to me by one of my best friends Paul C. and it was the right move to get surgery from Dr. Jay. I actually went against Jay's advice which was not getting surgery, lol. The result is clear: on Week 5 no more crutches and way less pain. I will continue rehab at Jaco's four more weeks or so.

Had rotator cuff surgery yesterday by Dr Msrumumoto at his surgicenter. Everything was first class. Felt very confident and well cared for. Had good night and going well today.

Follow up appointment after surgery. Dr Jay examined my leg, measured flexibility and was satisfied of my progress. My pain is minimal and controlled by meds. My rehabilitation at home is conducive, with PT done 2x a week to a location close to home. I am satisfied with the services I received.

Dr. Marumoto always does a thorough examination and analysis on both of my knees total knee replacements. He is also very interested and understanding on my lifestyle and how I’m using my knees. We all need a lot more doctors like Dr. Marumoto.
