Only Dr. in the area that does a anterior approach hip replacement surgery. This method leaves all the muscles and conective tissue in tact. This allows for a quicker recovery and better overall recovery. 3 month out and I feel like a new man. So if you're looking for the Dr. with that addictive personality who will be your best friend this isn't your guy. But if you want a Dr. That knows what hes doing and will do a great job this is the guy. Got my life back. Couldn't be happier. Thank you so much Dr. Clark and staff.

Dr. Clark and his team have changed the quality of my life! Having been unable to walk without deep hip joint pain for several years, I was urged by family members to see what could be done. Both hips had arthritic conditions that indicated total joint replacements. In January 2023 I had surgery on the left hip; the right had been replaced in May of 2022. Now, just a few short weeks later in February ‘23, I am thrilled to report full movement without pain or disability. It really is a miracle procedure. Dr. Clark was even able to lengthen this left leg about 3/8 of an inch to enable full upright posture and walking without a shoe insert or cane, using the anterior approach. Hallelujah! For the first time in many, many years I am able to move freely in daily life. I feel about 15 years younger—from 74 to 60–and it is truly a blessing. I highly recommend Dr. Clark and his amazing surgical team. Wish I had done this about five years earlier. Don’t wait if you are walking with pain!

I had a very positive experience throughout the anterior approach total hip procedure with Dr. Clark. The results are unbelievable and wish I would have done it two sooner! I am a believer of the anterior approach. Fast recovery time and can do anything I want to do without any pain or issues!

Broke my arm. Dr. Clark was on call and told the local ED that he could not handle my injury because it was "too complex" and I should go to UI for further care. After 5 hours, I made it down to Iowa City. Sadly, the trauma surgeon told me that my injury was not bad at all. In fact, he said to me that "even in the third world they could take care of that injury and the initial surgeon (in this case Dr. Clark) was being lazy and did not want to take care of my arm". It is terrible that we have a doctor like him in the area. Furthermore, it is very sad to learn he takes care of athletes at the university of northern Iowa.

I had my knee replaced in late August , 2021. Things went as expected and I’m very satisfied with how my recovery went. I would urge anyone needing a joint replacement to see Dr Clark/Brenda. My life has been changed, forgetting what no pain feels like after having so much pain for years.

If you are having joint pain, make an appointment with Dr.Jeffrey Clark. From the moment you step into his office you will be attended by a professional clerical staff, technicians, nurses and the doctor himself. He has a pleasant and informative way of eliciting pertinent data and then explains symptoms, injury, and treatment options. Dr. Clark did my hip surgery. The outcome is fabulous. The surgery was successful; the recovery was accompanied by coordinated physical therapy. I could not be more pleased. Diane. If you are having joint pain, make an appointment with Dr.Jeffrey Clark. Extremely disappointed in how this 'doctor' treated my elderly mother. Caused her extreme discomfort and uncalled for emotional distress that had he spent more than 3 seconds reviewing her file, he would have known his actions would be harmful. I would not wish this 'doctor' on my enemy!

I saw Brenda Cooper, ARNP about an injury. We discussed the medical aspect of the injury, and while we didn't quite get to a definitive diagnosis she did a fine job ruling out urgent, severe issues. The injury however did impact my ability to work. I handed her a form at the end of the appointment needed to justify time off work. While I would have been happy to clarify and explain exactly what I needed, she left immediately after taking the form and agreeing to fill it out. I called and messaged through their patient portal several times thereafter to ask that the form be filled out and sent back to me, explaining how the form ought to be filled out, offering multiple times to meet or get on the phone with Brenda to make sure we're on the same page. Generally, they agreed to do everything I asked them to do, but it seemed that they were not tracking my request to have the form filled out, forgetting about it multiple times, and not communicating details of the request to Brenda. Ultimately, the form was eventually filled out, but left sitting in a filing cabinet for a week before they faxed it to the number written on the form (and never emailing a copy of the form to me as they agreed to do). I heard from the administrator at that number that the form was filled out incorrectly, invalid and essentially meaningless. After checking in with the office on this, they asked me to pick up the form in person (during the covid-19 pandemic...). I could see what the issue was, the form was filled out incorrectly Subtly so, admittedly, the process as a whole is confusing. However, the root of the issue was clearly that Brenda did not get the message from me on how the form ought to be filled out (did not read my messages, and was not forwarded this information by front desk staff). As a last resort, I printed out all relevant information and handed it to front desk staff in a folder and asked them to give it to Brenda. I'd made it very clear over the phone that the administrator did not interpret the form as certifying leave, and that the deadline to address this was within a couple days. They agreed to call me after talking to Brenda, confirming my phone number. I never heard from them after this. Rather than continue allowing myself to be stressed out by this debacle (potentially delaying my recovery), I dropped the issue. This caused a gap in my leave with no medical justification, leaving me out several thousand dollars and potentially could have lost me my job if my employer were less understanding. Overall, their willingness to agree to handle important paperwork without the capability to follow through on it is dangerous. I would have been much better off if I never saw them, and instead went directly to the specialist I considered seeing instead (whom they happened to refer me to anyway). Dr Clark and his team did an amazing job for me. Surgery went great and I was on very minimal pain management. I was able to get rid of my crutches after only 3 days and everyday was better than the day before. My stitches look good and are healing quickly. I am excited to me out of the pain I had pre-surgery and to have my life and health back

I have suffered with degenerative osteoarthritis in both of my hip joints. My job has me on my feet for most of the day. The chronic pain of bone rubbing on bone got so bad that I would be in tears walking out to my car at the end of the day. Dr. Clark surgically replaced both of my hips and changed my life. I walk, move, and live without pain. The procedures went very smoothly and my recovery time was well within the estimates provided. If you are suffering from this type of malady, don't put off fixing it another day.

Dr. Clark performed a total knee replacement for me. Prior to the replacement he was thorough in making sure that the surgery was necessary and explaining the procedure in language I could understand. After surgery he checked to make sure that I was comfortable and knew what was necessary to make my experience successful. At all of the checkups Dr. Clark was professional and relayed all the information I needed to make a complete recovery. He always took time to answer any questions I had. His entire team is knowledgable as well as always pleasant and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr. Clark for any of your orthopedic needs.

I am 60 years old and feel GREAT! I had my hip replaced, March 2, 2020. I am so happy I did it and wish I would have done it two years earlier, now that I have it done. Prior to the surgery, I limped, I couldn't ride a bike, my muscle mass was lost, I couldn't sleep, and I was in PAIN! Now, I am taller, stronger, walking normal and in April 2020, I am riding my bike! I give credit to Dr. Clark, his staff, and the Cedar Valley Physical Therapy Rehab! God Bless them! Before the surgery, the correct diagnosis happened, I thought it was my knees, also, but with a few months of physical therapy, I was readied for the procedure, which also this also helped me with a speedy recovery! I was home in a day, I felt the surgery wasn't that bad. A bit more therapy, I am building up, strengthening my core, and allowing the new hip to be fully recovered. I will be back to work in a week and this is the best, to go to work without pain! Thank you, for this great care! Thank you!!!

After a fall (resulting in a broken hip) and Dr. Clark performing a total hip replacement, I was amazed that the recovery could be so quick and complete, and in far less time than I would have expected. His post-surgery instructions proved to be perfectly matched to my needs and all follow-up appointments showed the evidence of his masterful work. Brenda and all others in the office were always pleasant and efficient in getting me through the office visits and on my way. I am so thankful Dr. Clark was the one who cared for me and I soon joined the many folks who highly recommended him, for any orthopedic care! I understand that a doctor's office has many people to serve and I don't expect to be their top priority, so occasionally waiting for 10 minutes is totally within reason. However, most of the time I have had to sit for no more than a couple minutes before being called back to an exam room. That's better service than most retail stores provide!

Less than positive. Waited 40 minutes past my appointment time for him to come in tell him I had an old rotator tear in my shoulder and nothing he could. Suggested I just not reach, climb or pull. Stated I could get a shot but didn't appear to be in enough pain to need one. He didn't speak to me, he spoke at me. Im going elsewhere as I think he picks and chooses his patients.

When my knee began hurting two friends recommended Dr. Clark and his assistant Brenda. Great Choice! Dr. Clark and Brenda were compassionate, through, knowledgeable, professional, competent & only a call away. Surgery went perfect for total right knee replacement. I then followed the directions of walk & rock & practice my rehab all day. Pain free in a few days. Doing my usual activities in 3 weeks. Dr. Clark and Brenda rewarded me for my hard work with lots of praise & complements. Wonderful positive experience. Hint...Get to a doctor when knee bothers because each day it will hurt more, after surgery each day it will hurt less. Keep the knee limber by moving and bending constantly. If above appropriate weight for your height loose weight as each extra pound is a very big extra strain on knees and makes recovery harder and longer. Thanks, Dr. Clark, Brenda & your whole team for a great positive experience.

As a 60 y/o man actively involved in the sport of Crossfit I find my limits tested on a regular basis, and I have endeavored to scale my activities to avoid injury. Crossfit provides countless challenges and enumerable benefits, and it has been a part of my life for the past 4+ years. I have never been more fit. Imagine my dismay when a diving board injury ripped my shoulder from the socket, tearing everything that supports it at the same time. I feared that Crossfit was over for me, and that I would find myself walking the malls or riding a stationary bike for future fitness. In fact one orthopedic surgeon told me this was the case, so I sought another opinion from Dr. Clark. Dr. Clark listed carefully, and in particular noted my goals and desires for recovery. Of course he recommended caution in proceeding, and told me of the potential for incomplete healing in a man of my age. But most important, he listened. My rotator cuff surgery with biceps tenodesis was a complete success. My range of motion is full; I have no pain. I have been back in the Crossfit gym for many months now and in March of this year competed in the worldwide Crossfit Open competition, ranking in the 60th percentile for my age group worldwide, push-ups, pull-ups, burpees, clean and jerks, deadlifts, everything that I could do before, with the only exception being handstand pushups (too risky, to my mind). I couldn't be happier with my outcome! Thanks Dr. Clark for helping me meet my fitness goals! However, (in my case) visiting Dr. Jeffrey Clark was a bad experience. I'm a 30 year old male, very active and aside from a chronic shoulder injury, in extremely good health. As my shoulder has worsened, I visited Dr. Clark by a positive recommendation from another professional in a related field. At my first visit I was pleased by the friendless and professionalism of the staff. After a moderate wait in the exam room, Dr. Clark saw me. With no physician/patient interaction other than a hand shake with my greeting, he offered short summary of proposed next steps quickly followed by directions for me on my way out. I felt like I need needed to interrupt to actually ask a few questions that I had. Dr Clark's responses were abbreviated and hasty. I left dissatisfied and confused. Before my follow up appointment, I was notified that Dr. Clark would not be available and Brenda Cooper, ARNP would see me. My second visit to CVMS with her was by far my best experience at the facility. My third visit to CVMS was a follow up visit with Dr Clark again. The staff was excellent again, but I had to wait in the exam room over 40 minutes to see Dr. Clark. When he did see me, my appointment was over in less than a minute with little more than a greeting and good bye. Almost tugging on his lab coat, I was able to ask a few questions that he responded to over his shoulder as he made his way to the door to leave. One of my questions was on best management practices for caring for/exercising my shoulder as it related to my occupational and hobby work activities. His response was that I should “just stop the activities that were difficult due to my injury”. You are right Dr. Clark, I'll give up at life and stop doing the things I enjoy since I had an injury. For people reading this, I apologize for the attitude and bias interpretation of Dr. Clark's behavior and responses to my questions. Hopefully my experience with him was unique - after all I did see him in first place because of a positive recommendation. CVMS at the UNI Campus is a great facility with excellent staff. Constantly is way over booked. He doesn't spend enough time with his patients and walks out of the room while patient is still asking questions. If you call the office to leave message well it takes 3 to 5 calls before the Nurse Practitioner calls back.
