Dr. Jeffrey T Gursky

Been seeing Dr. Gursky for over two years. As a patient with severe mental disorder it is hard too find a doctor who not only values my opinion but also respects it. He is very good at explaining concerns of medication. Most respect I have been given from a Doctor ever. He takes on a heavy schedule so is always multi-tasking as Psychiatry Doctors are in high demand. The number one problem for patients is over medicating. Dr. Gursky is very careful to achieve maximum results with minimum medication to keep risks as low as possible. I highly recommend him. His staff is also kind, helpful, and respectful.

Doesn’t listen, rarely makes eye contact. Just types on computer and only writes medications he “likes”, so it appears he is heavily influenced by pharmaceutical reps. Refuses to discuss goals of care or make a treatment plan with the patient; does not talk with other health professionals involved in the patient’s care.

Very odd to talk to; he seems uncomfortable and looks at the computer a lot. Only interested in prescribing certain specific psychiatric medications within the same class of medications with no explanation as to why (maybe due to non-disclosed pharmaceutical relationships?). Not willing to discuss a treatment plan with the patient or referring physician, likely because it seems he has no plan. Looks away and shrugs his shoulders instead of answering questions.
