Terrible office staff, very expensive office visit that are never on time, always pushing expensive injections and other procedures that don’t provide any relief Highly recommend staying clear of this clinic.

Dr Phelps has performed 2 back surgeries on me, and I couldn't have asked for it to go any better. He's an excellent surgeon and I would highly recommend him.

No, no, no! Do not see this doctor. I would not recommend Dr Phelps, or those in his practice to my worse enemy, if I had one. I have several reasons to feel this way, of which I will be happy to share. He first misdiagnosed and then botched a procedure terribly -that can never be fixed or reversed. I ONLY know this because I got a second opinion. He did not tell me he botched the procedure, let alone badly botched it. After this same procedure, my luck didn't change. I came down with a dangerous infection in my spine that I can only guess was possibly the result of a surgical site infection. He was slow to fully investigate my (post op) severe pain which started 6-10 days later. The pain was the most intense pain of my entire life for months on end. In TX you can not sue for malpractice after 2 years which I did not know. Had I known this before the deadline- there is no doubt I would have sued. If you are wise, you should heed my advice & find a better spine surgeon.

The surgery he performed on my husband gave him his life back. We will deal with the stressful office visits for an amazing surgeon.

I had a consult appointment with PA for sciatica/herniated discs pain ($350 office charge). She basically listen to me explain my issues and order an X-ray (which was very very poor quality). Only to be told I’d need to get an MRI to be able to see anything and then just do physical therapy. This office also require you to give a urine sample for a drug test ($1200 bill) before every talking to you. Which they don’t tell you when you make an appointment. Even if you aren’t there for pain meds.

I'm a nurse who saw the PA who "mostly" listened to what I had one say so not many complaints about him but business practices are terrible!! They forced me to do a drug screen before I saw the doctor even though I was not there to obtain narcotics and then when I refused to pay the bill for the urine screen they sent my case to the collection agency and wouldn't work with me. Not good customer service!!

Good surgeon, but ruthless business practice.  After major surgery, never spoke to the DR. again. they schedule you a PA instead. Tell you follow up visits are included in the surgery cost, then bill your insurance company for the visits, and make you pay deductible. When I refused, they had me reported to the credit bureau. And then there is the $100.00 drug test every visit.  When I refused, they made me sit in the waiting room for almost two hours. Terrible business! Do not recommend.
