Dr. Zipkin went out of his way to accommodate my needs. He was on night duty and called ahead to Bethesda Hospital to say i was coming for a catheter. He made time in his calendar to see me the next day and performed a procedure later that week. He understood who i was as an individual and i deeply appreciated that. And yes, he was both direct but charming in his directness so i would understand not to “do too much” after the procedure. And at all times he explained the procedure and later.

Rude, unprofessional and nasty to patient. Called the after hours on call after had prostate surgery and Dr. Zipkin did not offer assistance or information. He made it clear that he was sleeping and my call was bothering him. A post surgery patient should never be made to feel that a call in an imposition. Told me that he was not here to help me. He did not perform my surgery but sadly reached him when called because of excess blood in urine.

Dr zipkin is the best!

Dr. Zipkin is a fantastic Dr. Trust him totally and confident in his decisions. If only I could say the same about some if his office staff. Unfortunately I may have to get another urologist which I really don't want to do.

Excellent and caring

Dr. Zipkin is so professional and caring!! I was very impressed with him and would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a Urologist! He listens to what you have to say and takes immediate action. He got me in right away for the cystoscopy I needed. Right out of the recovery room I was already feeling great, back to my old self! You're the best, Dr. Zipkin!! Thank you so much!

Urology group herds you in like cattle, runs late most of the time, does procedures in their center as "outpatient" that should be done with 12-24 hours observation. You are discharged with very little information, scant supplies, and a phone # in case of emergency. When things go wrong and you need help, you are left with an answering service and no call backs. I wound up in the ER after one of the procedures, and no one was available to call me back for 2 1/2 hrs. They don't care about you.

I had been seeing Dr Zipkin for about a year and based upon my last visit I decided to change doctors. Being told that my urine sample was clear with no signs of infection when I was not able to supply one was one thing, but then being billed for a non-existent sample was another.

I was disappointed. I waited an hour and a half beyond my scheduled appointment time and finally left his office without seeing him. I overheard two other patients saying that they had waited over two hours and one said she had waited nearly three hours. I'm sure Dr. Zipkin is a qualified doctor as I have used him in the past, but he apparently doesn't respect his patients time. I will look for a doctor that honors my time and doesn't make me wait well beyond my appointment time.
