Dr. Jennifer Kent Malin

I was referred by my primary doctor to another doctor in the practice, and they scheduled me to Dr. Malin instead. During my first appointment, I felt she talked to me like she was a kindergarten teacher. I didn't care for that, and found it condescending. On my second appointment, the thing that bothered me was that she was trying to walk out of the room while I still asking questions, and it's not like I had more than a few questions to begin with. I did not feel that she really cared much at all. I would not recommend her.

Haven’t even seen her yet after trying to get an appointment for o et three months! My PCP sent THREE referrals; all of which the “claimed” they didn’t receive… including the last one that, when my doc called, they said they had (since the day before I called)! Seemingly just going through the motions. Major communication issues. Spaced out. Was not engaged nor informative. Gave me false information about when to take my eye test. No support or explanation of what my next steps should be after diagnosis. Just showed me pictures from a medical encyclopedia but gave no advice about what to expect or about how to proceed, except, take this medicine. She gave me no plan. She told me most of my symptoms were not related to my diagnosis, yet I found many credible sources to confirm that the symptoms are very common. It seemed like she wanted to keep my case more simple than it was so that she didn't have to bother with it. I went to three appointments and there was never any improvement.

NO, No, No, Once thought she was a Good Doctor but have Not seen her in 2 years only her assistants. After being a patient for years. I had Tendonitis, called to see Doctor on August 16th, I am on Medicare, I was told it would be September 16 before I could be seen. I had received numerous same day injections for Tendonitis in years past. Called repeatedly and was told to keep checking for cancelations. I ask if I cold be called and was told ONLY NEW PATIENTS cold be called. So I Lived in Extreme Pain 24/7 until the 25th of August when I was seen by LOS and received a Shot and some Relief. When I finally saw anyone at this office was November 3rd. All I was told is Lupus and other patients with pain had to be seen as a Priority so My Tendonitis was not a Priority to them and I was Totally left out in the PAIN. I Requested a Referral since I Never want any Medical professional in my Life that ignores My pain with such a cavalier attitude.

I would have given Dr. Malin a 5-star rating as I'm sure she deserves that. I was a patient of hers in the past but now my situation has changed. I'm on Wellcare and Medicaid and she doesn't accept that anymore. Hasn't for a long time. So what am I supposed to do? My R/A is getting worse. My primary care Dr says she can't give me my sulphasalizine that Dr. Malin had me on. I'm suffering here and all Drs seem interested in these days are the big bucks. Whatever happened to Drs who became Drs to help people? They best they can tell me is try Baton Rouge? Really? I'm the sole caretaker for my autistic grandson and my disabled brother. Going out of Lafayette is not an option for me. But nobody cares. Sorry. Just got upset when I called her office and they told me none of their rich Drs take state insurance. Dr. Malin was very courteous, informative, genuine, and caring. Her office staff was better than the other 2 Rheumotology clinics I’ve been too...people in back of clinic were AWESOME just the staff at front receptionist desk that wasn’t very friendly.

I work in a medical facility and had heard good things about Dr.Malin, then I actually saw her as a patient. I was diagnosed with lupus by my internist and suggested I see a rheumatologist. Went to see her and I only have tendonitis even though my blood test suggests otherwise. She redid all my labs and they came back the same with more information that still suggested a lupus diagnosis. It took over 2 weeks for her to call me with my results and then only suggested physical therapy and Aleve. What a crock.... Go to Baton Rouge or New Orleans where you have a better choice of rheumatogist.

A great dr who explains why and what we are trying to achieve.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Malin for 20 years. She is the BEST!!!

I found Dr Malin to be both professional and friendly. She clearly works out of a large knowledge base and is able to communicate very well. I felt that she took plenty of time and listened quite well. She is patient, calm and reassuring. She made a referral and worked to get me into Dr Baque before I left the complex. I have recommended Dr Malin to several friends.
