This was my first time seeing Dr. Swan. He was extremely polite and knowledgeable about my condition and suggested I have an echocardiogram done since it has been awhile since I had the last one. In fact, he knew when I had the last one done which I could not remember! He made me feel confident that he knew what he was doing and what had to be done.

Dr Swan continues to monitor my issues and responses appropriately

Jimmy Swan is my cardiologist and he did an exceptional job (as did his aides, etc.) in performing the cardiovascular procedure of installing multiple stents.

I am visiting my elderly father who had an emergency pacemaker placed over the weekend. His discharge papers stated he should call to make an appointment as soon as he was able for a date within two weeks. On Monday, he sat on the phone for more than an hour repeatedly going through the menu followed by waiting on hold for 32 minutes to speak with a person. When he finally got a person online they said a nurse would review his case and call to tell him if an appointment is necessary. Keep in mind, my father nearly died on the operating table Thursday and had three surgeries in two days. Dr. Swan's level of care as a physician may be excellent but the service he provides his patients is much lower than acceptable when his staff can't even answer the phone or schedule an appointment. In 2007 I was having an MI. Dr. Swan rushed to the hospital, got me into the cath lab and saved my life by placing two stents in my LAD. I owe him my life and my career as my career probably would have been over if he hadn't operated on me so quickly and so expertly. I'm ashamed its taken me 13 years to thank him for all that he has done for me. He is very personable, is incredibly intelligent and has great hands in the cath lab. My fathers right artery has been plugged 100% for 8 weeks to our knowledge, most likely longer. He is in extreme pain due to angina, out of breath and his quality of life is very poor. He was scheduled for surgery with Dr Swan, Nov 4, 2019. It then got moved to Nov 11, 2019. On Nov 8, 2019 the doctors office called and cancelled Nov 11 surgery. Total disregard for patient health concerns or quality of life. My father has 18 stents, a pacemaker, has had no less than 5 heart attacks...the next one maybe his last yet the doctor seemed to be ok with continually postponing surgery. I took an ambulance from Centralia Hospital to Providence Hospital with a severe heart attack. The crew at Providence was waiting for me and rushed me into the operating room. Dr Swan literally saved my life. I am indebted to him for the rest of my life. He has the knowledge, expertise and skill to quickly understand the depth of the problem and and heal it. The nurse was so unprofessional. Didn't know how to use own medical chart system. Argued with the patient until his blood pressure was high. Later found out that what was argued about was in their system she just didn't want to admit that she couldn't operate the software. Unprofessional and rude nurse.

I feel that waiting 6 months to see this specialist or any other doctor in this clinic is not acceptable, especially with the number of people who die across the street at St Peters Hospital from heart disease every day. There are far too many patients in this area and too few doctors. It takes 3 weeks to get a call from the moment they receive your referral and they schedule appointments 5 months out. Its either the administrative system or the lack of doctors that is causing this.
