Dr. Joan Marie Kanter

We have seen Dr Kantor for many years w 5 kids. She is kind and gentle. We have always had very good appointments, she let all of us come in together(big families so appreciate this!) and I think maybe 3 cavities among all 5 kids for the last decade? They take time to educate kids about how to care for their teeth.

Worst experience in the 6 years of my sons life. My son is on the autism spectrum, and we’ve been making progress with dental visits. This would have been our 3rd visit with Dr Kantor. While I was attempting to get my son in the cleaning chair using the First and Then method, Dr. Kantor insulted my parenting skill and was insensitive to my son when she said, “it’s as simple as put him in the chair”. I responded that if it were that simple it would have been done. However, as her request I attempted to put my son in the chair (even though I knew he wasn’t ready) and he kicked and screamed, my son is 6 years old, 60 pounds and about 4ft tall. Instead of continuing to try and putting my son in a worst emotional state, I decided to leave. As we were leaving Dr Kantor tries to snatch her mirror away from my son, he was using the mirror as a Stemming tool. I blocked her snatch with my arm and handed her the mirror which caused my son to throw an even bigger fit about the mirror.

My 3 sons have been going to Dr Kanter for over a year and I was shocked and disappointed today to see her respond to my sons disability in this way. Absolutely no patience or empathy. Needless to say I will never return. And I recommend that if your child has a special need that you NOT visit Dr Kanter.

Dr. Kanter is a very competent pediatric dentist and has taken care of my kids' teeth for many years. Friendly staff and easy to get an appointment. They take most insurance.

Dr. Kanter is trustworthy, knowledgeable and kind. My four children really like her and her staff. They actually don’t mind going to the dentist and we all appreciate that she treats us all with respect and patience. The office is peaceful and I don’t think we’ve ever waited more than 5 minutes. She is the best dentist I’ve ever been to. I’m so grateful to have found her. Highly recommend! Dr. Kanter is trustworthy, knowledgeable and kind. My four children really like her and her staff. Thorough, kind, gentle, knowledgeable dentist and peaceful office with no wait. All four of my kids have been going for several years. She is the best dentist I have ever been to.

She is amazing! my kids love her! They remind me about their appointments lol! I completely trust her and value the service she gives

Dr Kanter and her staff are the best. Very friendly and know how to encourage kids through the dental procedure. I really appreciate her kindness towards my autistic son. Thank you Dr Kanter!

Dr. Kanter and her staff are very professional kind and friendly. The office is very calm, cozy and relaxing. It almost feels like the real live version of visiting the tooth fairy lol. My daughter was very nervous but Dr. Kanter and her staff were very patient and reassuring. I’m really glad I found this office. Side note the parking lot is always full so try to arrive early to account for a parking space. Dr. Kanter and her staff are very professional kind and friendly. We have been going to Dr. Kanter for 10 years. She has always been very patient with my daughter and good at explaining each step. Her hygienists are excellent, too.
