Avoid this guy at all cost. He’s only a money grab and a thief. I was sent with an insurance company approval for this guy to perform an Endoscopic Ultrasound with biopsy on a suspected pancreatic tumor. Ultrasound had a positive result, and a CT Scan was inconclusive. So we sought the gold standard which is an EUD with biopsy. I had it all pre-approved through insurance and had to pay an additional $320 for my copy on this procedure. I show up to the Reagon Street Surgery center in Los Alamitos to get my procedure done along with a colonoscopy which was 100% covered under my PPO Insurance. I show up and get wheeled into the exam room and Dr Chen strolls by and says to me that he wouldn’t be doing the EUS With biopsy as the chances of this being a cancerous tumor was extremely rare and wasn’t going to do it. Well the only reason I was there was for a EUS with biopsy. So they do the colonoscopy and he does a EGD which is a scope down your throat to look at your stomach and first part of your small intestine. This has no bearing on a pancreatic tumor as they can’t see the pancreas well enough let alone do a biopsy of the pancreas tumor, it’s not the necessary procedure. So I get done and am extremely mad, but I go hone and the following week seek out a second opinion @ UCLA medical center. I have an EUS with biopsy performed approximately two weeks after Dr Chen’s negligence and they find the mass and conduct multiple biopsies of this mass. One week later I get the official diagnosis it came back as Pancreatic Ductal Adenocarcinoma. This disease has a 5 year rate of death at over 98%. This makes this cancer the second most deadly cancer a human can get. Brain Stem Glioma is number 1 @ 100% , PDAC is second @ 98% and Esophageal Carcinoma is third & around 89%. So thanks Dr Chen for your lack of upholding your Hypocratic Oath , which is “ Above all do no harm”. If I hadn’t gotten a second opinion and wrote it off as it’s nothing, my survival rate is around 6-9 months and I die, but if caught in time my survival goes up a little. 70% fatal at 2 years and goes to around 95-97% at 5 years. So I’m going into a major surgery, as big and complicated a procedure that can be performed on the human abdomen this coming Monday morning the 7th of March 2022 to try and save my life. If anyone can take something about my story is 1, don’t go to this criminal, and 2, always seek a second opinion even if your comfortable with the first. Be armed to take authority over your own body and health. Remember when referring to any Dr that provides care for a patient. It’s always said that it’s their “ Practice “ of medicine. It’s a practice and not an exact science. But you know your own body if it doesn’t sound right, or feel right, seek others opinions and advice. After all your life can depend on it. To further add insult to injury on my investigation of the Surgery center where Dr Chen was to provide my ENDOSCOPIC ULTRASOUND with Biopsy, that facility didn’t even have this equipment in house or does this procedure with Dr Chen. Once again thanks for nothing Dr Chen. Let your conscious be your guide. I’ll never be able to forgive you not for what you did, but for what you didn’t do. Peace and love to everyone.

Be careful with Dr. Chen. If he sees you in the ER make sure to ask the hospital to verify he is in network outside the hospital. If he is not in network he will not follow up with any procedure he did with you in the hospital! He is a money seeking doctor and does not care about the well being of his patient.

I called his clinic July 09 @ around 1620 hrs. to reschedule a possible sooner date. When I asked the name of the lady who answered the phone she just ignored my question many times refusing to give her name. She should be reminded of telephone etiquette in introducing yourself to the caller.

Phenomenal Doctor and Staff. Even though I received enough information on what to expect with my procedure, it was my first time so I was feeling anxious. From the moment I checked in, the entire staff went out of their was to make me feel comfortable. They explained what I was about to go through and answered my questions. It was clear that the staff loved their job and were an extended family. Once I went into the procedure room I was greeted by Doctor Chen and the rest of his outstanding
