Dr. Backas is one of the best optometrists you will ever have the pleasure of getting an eye exam from. He is incredibly thorough PLUS he is one of the most kind, good natured and generous people you will come in contact with. Don't be discouraged that is a walmart - make your appt today! The other staff in the optical department are really fantastic as well.

The eye doctor here is the best one I ever met, I saw him few year ago and still I remembered he was so patient and kind, I had a lot of questions about my vision and he answered all my questions and explained everything in details so I can understand . I have to say he really is the best, Walmart is too lucky to have him. I can felt that he is sincerely truly want to make a positive difference for everyone he sees. Our community is lucky to have such brilliant and caring doctor.

Dr Backes is the most thorough dr I’ve ever had. He takes his time with you and double checks everything then explains what and why so you know what’s going on and why it’s important. I’ve had eye doctors in the past rush me in and out and I left wondering if I was even getting the right prescription. You won’t feel that way with him.

Best eye exam I’ve ever received. Dr. Backes was very thorough...and first doctor to ever tell me I have a very slight astigmatism. Would definitely go to again.

Doctor is smart, kind, and good price for exam. Staff running vision center can be a little difficult at times getting scripts sent over to other vision centers and stuff and slow most of the time, but go there for Dr. John Backes. He can come off a little surly and cranky at times. Anybody sane would after X amount of hours spent in a Walmart. Look past that. He is very careful and thorough, and he performed the best eye examination my wife and I have ever received. A very competent and professional Optomitrist in a world where that's becoming very hard to find. I highly recommend.
