Dr. John J Brennan

Dr. Brennan is one of the best orthopedic medical professionals on Long Island. His Riverhead staff were very helpful and the office environment is pleasant. Dr. Brennan was a pleasure to work with when I was having problems with my joints and provided the appropriate medical intervention. I would definitely seek his help and advice for any future issues that may arise.

Excellent care as always. Although we miss PA Sean, we are very impressed with new PA Justin.

I’ve been having problems with my knee. I went to the office for an injection. It was explained and administered with a great deal of compassion. Every moment at the office was pleasant, from check in to the moment I left.

Had a great experience with Dr. Brennan. He answered all my questions and he took his time to explain my diagnosis. He is an excellent doctor.

Dr Brennan fixed my right rotator cuff 5 years ago and its perfect. Since then I have sent a bunch of friends with the same problem and he has cured every one. Now I needed my left side done and it worked out great. Can't recommend more highly.

Dr. Brennan is one of the most sincere compassionate doctors I ever met. He takes the time to listen and and care about your well-being.

This Dr was attentive, careful with explaining details of his diagnosis, then outlined prescribed treatment plan understandably. Surprisingly, he didn’t seem rushed which I find in every other physician’s office these days. Rushing to het to the next patient rather than allowing some time for questions or developing rapport and confidence. Dr Brennan accomplished all of the above without wasting time. She glad to have found this Orthopedic physician. A Good doctor and friendly, efficient office staff like Christine goes a long wY when you are troubled by pain and the circumstance of its beginning. Dr. Brennan is wonderful. I went to see him for pain in my right knee & found out I had a torn meniscus. He took his time , answered all my questions. He explained my options. I am very happy I went to see him. The entire office is was very professional & knowledge from the front desk the doctors. I have been going to Dr Brennan for many years and have the highest respect for him as a physician and as a man. He and his staff are so lovely and caring. Yesterday I was seen and attended to by Justin Biel PA. He was very caring and also straightforward in his questions and answers. I am on the mend and highly recommend this practice for all of your orthopedic concerns.

Dr. John Brennan is an excellent surgeon! I needed a left knee surgery, a repair. I had the usual anxiety about a surgery. Dr. Brennans knowledge, kindness and compassion won me over. He listened to my concerns about pain management as I have a codeine allergy. He assured me he would manage my pain and he did. It’s a great feeling going into surgery, when you know the pain will be managed post surgery. I never felt rushed through my visits as he took the time to address all my concerns. There is a knee replacement in my future and Dr. Brennan is the only one I would want to do the surgery. A great surgeon and a nice man. Thank you.

Dr Brennan is without a doubt the most skilled surgeon I have had (and I’ve had a lot), but the most compassionate, understanding and down-to-earth. He listens, takes his time and you know he is fully in the game of knowing, and helping, his patients! Dr. Brennan is knowledgeable, patient, thorough, compassionate and communicates well. I'm very glad to have him as one of my doctors.

I visited doctor Brennan to deal with arthritis in my hands. He discussed several options and we decided on Cortisone shots which were financially conservative and medically appropriate at this juncture. We will see how long the treatment lasts but if I do need more treatment I will certainly return to doctor Brennan.

I have been a patient of Dr. Brennan for over 5 years now and I can say that he is an extremely reliable and excellent surgeon. He has treated me for a number of work related injuries that required surgery including rotator cuff repair and hip replacement. I also had multiple cortisone injections over the years. He and his team are able to get you into the office within a reasonable timeframe and always put the patient in the best of interests. I highly recommend him and his medical team for both operative and non-operative orthopedic care.

Pleasant place girls were wonderful especially the xray technicians as I'm kind of anxious it was great seeing Dr Brennan again as he did my hip surgery thankfully it is bursitis. Would recommend him and have Already done so

Dr. Brennan is very calm and carefully explains all your options. He provides you with the information needed to make an informed decision. I will definitely be back to see him in a few months.

The place was very organized. Dr. Brennan was very pleasant and informative. His advice was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend seeing him for any shoulder or knee issues. The fact that his approach is conservative not rushing to operate is a huge plus.

I was so pleased with my visit with Dr Brennan, he made me feel very comfortable and answered all my questions in detail, moving forward I feel very comfortable and confident having Dr Brennan do my knee replacement, Thankyou Dr Brennan

The doctor was booked all week and was going on vacation the following week so I could only see the PA. He was pleasant enough but I do feel I would have been better off seeing the doctor. The PA did not help me and even misdiagnosed what was wrong, sending me for an expensive procedure that was unnecessary. I tried to get answers as to my pain but he (the PA) would not return my calls and had the office staff call to tell me to just see a pain management doctor. I am not happy at all with how I was treated. FOLLOW UP: I went back and finally got to see Dr. Brennan himself and I was satisfied with my experience. I still have to see the pain management doctor for another issue, but he found what was causing the pain I had in my hip and treated it. I would go back to see him if I need to again in the future. Dr. Brennan was so good with my 10 yr old when he went in for a wrist fracture. He had a wonderful demeanor with my son who is special needs. Highly recommended Dr. Brennan at OALI for ortho needs kind and caring doc.

Was a very good experience for me. Having hip problems and a number of people said I should see Dr Brennan. I found out why, a real gentleman but more importantly I found him to be very thorough, took the time to answer every question I had and certainly inspired confidence. Highly recommend him.

Front desk staff was not friendly, more indifferent. Medical staff was very friendly. After a 1hr wait in the exam room, Dr. Brennan came in to ask questions and do a quick examination. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. I was there for knee pain. He felt that a cortisone injection right then and there was a good first step. The injection was painful, but as quick as he could possibly do. However, I was not told how I should feel in the coming hours, and to only contact him if the injection does not help within 3 days. I went into the office walking, and I left limping. I was in pain for the rest of the evening and night. Not sure if that is normal, but made me second guess as to why I took the injection in the first place. Since I was not provided with any guidance, I guess I can only hope it gets better. Office takes all necessary Covid Precautions, Staff, receptionist all very friendly. DrBrennan LISTENS, doesn't rush you along. Through exam.. Kid surgery last year on my elbow and carpal tunnel release I have no complaints at all. I would definitely refer him.

Everyone in Dr Brennan's office is kind considerate always makes you feel at ease. Dr Brennan is very easy to speak with and he's very thorough and caring.

I can't say enough about Dr. John Brennan. First his approach is so very positive. Bedside manner second to none! He shows compassion and speaks to me so I completely understand everything! I am so looking forward to my surgery with him! He is so pleasant and NOT a stuffed shirt.

I wish I could give 100 stars. I live 27 miles away and went based off all the great reviews, when I first got there, the waiting area is so clean and check in was easy enough I had a 10am appointment and was told what was causing my knee pain (where past doctors failed) was given exam, xrays, and pain shots with guided ultrasound and was all done by 11:30. It's rare to find a doctor especially these days who really listens, answers all questions, and made me so happy feeling validated. His staff was also very sweet and pleasant during my visit. He even told me if the shot doesn't help in 1 week to book another appointment and we can try something else. I have never felt excited to get home to write this review. Also I don't write reviews often but if I do it will be either 1 or 5 not in between because I don't feel it's helpful for the review scale. Jmo! Definitely recommend, you won't be disappointed! Dr Brennan is one of the best doctors I know. He is brilliant, caring, and very compassionate to his patients. Made me feel very st ease with my visit. Real down to earth doctor. I highly recommend him.

First I have comment on the moment I walked in, that everything was so orderly and organized. I was directed to go sign in at the desk. I called rt before this memorial holiday weekend in terrible shoulder pain and after speaking to the receptionist I was told to come in ASAP despite them closing for the day in an hour that they will wait for me until I was able to get there. I cldnt believe that they delayed the beginning of their holiday vacation to wait for me and treat my shoulder pain. Dr.Brennan and his office were nothing but patient,informative,& understanding!!! I will a patient fan for life!

Dr. Brennan has performed hip replacement surgery on both my husband and myself and additionally, a knee replacement for myself. The only way to describe our experience is EXCELLENT. We have recommended Dr. Brennan to several friends and family members who are also very satisfied and happy with their surgical results. Dr. Brennan makes his patients feel confident that he is listening to their medical situations and concerns. This has been evident not only when discussing a procedure but also with the surgical follow ups and other subsequent appointments. My husband and I can say that our surgeries were successful and recovery was quick and remarkably with little discomfort. I have had to revisit with Dr. Brennan for my other knee and I am very happy with his recommended course of treatment. I'm a 57 year old guy who loves to play golf. I slipped doing yard work and had a big tear in my rotator cuff. I thought I would never play golf again. A golf buddy told me to see Dr Brennan. He gave me all the options and I decided to get it fixed. It worked out so well. I did the surgery in the spring and am already back to playing, and playing well. Cant thank Dr Brennan enough!

On February 18, 2020 I had a total left hip replacement. The surgical procedure was performed by Dr. John Brennan at St. Charles Hospital. Since my waking in the recovery room, I have not experienced any unusual pain or ill side effects and have required the use of only a bare minimum of pain reducing medication. My wound has never given me a problem in the way of discharge or infection. In less than two weeks I've been able to cease the use of a walker and am hardly in need of a cane. Over the years, I have heard of many problems and complications from others who have had total hip replacements. I am a 70 year old man and totally attribute my shining surgical success to a wonderful and highly talented surgeon. I can only say thank you again, Dr. Brennan, you gave this lame man the ability to walk perfectly normal again! And thank you also for your great personality and bedside manor, easing my anxieties by explaining everything to me prior to the procedure in detail.

I had shoulder pain for years that got to where I couldn't sleep any more. I tried everything and nothing worked. A friend had her shoulder fixed by Dr Brennan so I went to see him. I had a torn rotator cuff. He did the surgery and it was so much easier than other people told me. I have no pain for the first time in years. I'm so thankful!

No pain after 3 days of surgery and recovery was the best I ever had because of the advance technology now days. Don't be afraid. Would you rather be in pain the rest of your life? I didn't. Now I can enjoy my life. Sleep better to. The hospital stay was very good they treated me very well.

dr. brennan is the best. my shoulder has never felt so good. its 8 weeks i have not taken any pain killers or over the counter drugs since the operation. i am also done with pt already. i cant say enough about the job he did. very very happy. thank you dr. brennan.
