These last few months, particularly January, I was the sickest I've been in a while, having a rather severe seasonal major depressive episode. He charged me through the nose at any chance available to him. I paid $175 3 times for 3 missed consecutive appointments, also all the while explaining thru messaging how bad it was....understood. But let's just say he lost respect for me as a patient. He was extremely angry, voice shaking, when he called me last time we spoke, and additionally refused to prescribe my medication. I was pretty shocked.. after a full year of being a patient, never missing an appointment until then, articulate in the issues I experienced. You would think he's trained for incidents like this. Despite $525. Needless to say, I am upset, without medication for a while, very suddenly. He stated I am blaming him for my own failure, and that I don't take my care seriously. He's in the wrong line of work. WA needs some better psych care

Dr. Frederick was very helpful, I highly recommend!

Kind, intelligent, compassionate, intuitive, and very responsive...Basically, he's the polar opposite of most psych professionals in the field. I cannot recommend him enough. Do not hesitate...book the appointment.

Even though Dr. Frederick was my doctor for only a short time I found him to be both compassionate and kind; always ready to listen. I wish I had found him much earlier instead of wasting my time see other psychiatrist. I regret having to move.

All I can say is I miss him dearly since he left Virginia Mason. Even though I was unable to continue seeing him (due to Medicare), he told me to call him any time. I haven't had to, but knowing I can makes me feel better. I have suicidal ideation sometimes, but thankfully not in a long time. He genuinely cares.

Bad experiencing. I was having sever panic attacks from my medication and he became very irritated that I contacted him about it. He left me a nasty voicemail and was abrasive as I asked for help. He essentially said he couldn't be bothered to hold my hand through the process, he was very rude. The man clearly has a god complex and at every step in this process he asserted that he knew best. Pros: Responds quickly. Predominately personable. Central location and comfortable office. Cons: Have a bad day with your medication and receive attitude in return. Best psychiatrist I have ever seen for my bipolar disorder. I have not lived this normal of a life since I first became ill. Thanks to Dr. Frederick for prescribing the right medication. He listens to his paitients. He has a genuine interest in the paitient as a whole, not just their illness. I am treated as a person, not just another diagnosis. Thoughtful and insightful, Dr. Frederick is a wonderful doctor. He truly makes you feel like he is listening and cares.

Dr. Frederick is a brilliant and compassionate psychiatrist who has immeasurably improved my health, happiness, and quality of life over the years. His insights and intuition are unique and shockingly accurate. This man has a gift. I have seen dozens of other psychiatrists in multiple states, and he is by far the best. Seattle has a shortage of psych talent, making him invaluable. While he is no longer at Virginia Mason, I strongly advise visiting his private practice in Seattle.

I first saw him at VMC, and I felt as though sessions were too much money and I felt almost rushed. Since he has moved to his own practice. The sessions are more comfortable and more personal. I've seen him for years now. He is personable, provides alternative ways to help, and LISTENS to the problems that occur. At first he was intimidating , but don't let that fool you. Personable with no patronizing , down to earth, sharp and intuitive. This guy is GOOD and I wish him well with his break from VMMC.
