John D. Gelin

Dr. Gelin is a no nonsense, down to earth kind of person who will tell you like it is. He personally will take your call and go over test results with you. My experience with the office staff leaves a lot to be desired. The person that answers the phone is short and rude. I asked for a script that any office would take care of over the phone. This office wants you to come in for an appointment, so they can charge you and the insurance for an office visit that no physician needs to be involved in. It’s just paperwork!!! I moved here from south Florida and never needed to make an appointment for a script, it was taken care of with just a phone call. I was told that the office manager would contact me, and whomever never did! For that reason alone I would switch doctors but I have no alternative with my insurance in this area.

I don’t know as Dr. Gelin’s receptionist informed me that all “ new patient appointments in January had been canceled due to Dr. Gelin had taken another doctors patients and couldn’t take any new patients, so, I needing a PCP found a new one who is taking new patients. It wouldn’t be fair to give a rating or recommendation.

Given we are in a pandemic Dr Gelin has accommodated me by tele-med. Staff is so kind and helpful. They get you in for appointments quickly. Just have patience with all that is going on and your experience will be great!

Suffering from covid 19 infection, had been to walk in clinic where I received an initial round of medication. Had been tested twice for covid but results had not been received. Dr. Gelin saw me, ordered a check X-Ray, prescribed additional medication and took blood for an anti body test. Anti body test was positive. Dr Gelin had me call daily to report how I was doing. As positive results came in from the covid testing, Dr. Gelin ordered a second X-Ray and continued treatment. My experience was positive from the start.

I booked a appointment to see the doctor online on Saturday the 11th. I got an email confirming my appointment and a second email reminding me of my appointment About 2 hours before the appointment I received a call saying they needed some questions answered to determine whether Dr Gelin would be taking me on as a patient. I said i wished I would have been told online that I would be contacted by the Doctor's office. The person interrupted me while I was still speaking and said when she left on Friday there was no appointment scheduled. I did not dispute this and attempted to respond that reminders for appointments that had not been scheduled should not be sent. Before I was finished speaking I was again cut off and told the office was part of a big corporation and they had no control of the website. This was a technical snafu that could have been easily resolved with some basic courtesy. I did not appreciate the staff treating me so rudely and will not be seeing Dr Gelin

I have been with this office for many years and have found it to be the best by far. The nurses and staff are friendly and professional. They are also personable. It feels like they are family. Dr. Gelin is a caring doctor who is serious about his patient's good health. He is also very humorous. I love this office and you will too.

We have known Dr. Gelin and most of his staff for 30 yrs. After that long of a period I guess you could say he is a wonderful doctor and Phyllis is a great nurse.

My husband and I are older patients and we found our visit to be extremely personable and efficient. Dr. Gelin has a wealth of knowledge and is supported by knowledgeable staff as well. Our questions and needs are always met.

Dr. Gelin has been my primary care physician for almost 30 years. He listens to me and addresses my concerns.

Had an emergency situation which could have been shingles or a bad bite from something. Doctor had me come right in. Treated as a bite with antibiotics and cream and was advised to watch for spreading. Set my mind at ease that it wasn't shingles.

Dr Gelin and his staff are amazing. They always work me in when I have an urgent problem. I am so grateful to have these awesome people to turn to when I am sick.

My experience with Dr Gelin is professional. He is most competent, considerate, compassionate, and as caring as possible. His staff is A+++ and I know I can count on receiving the best medical care possible in the area! I feel privileged to be able to have Dr Gelen as my primary caretaker, his staff to assist me, and his professionalism in my life!

I was able to schedule an appointment quickly. I only waited maybe ten minutes if that before I was called into see the Doctor. Dr. Gelin was personable and very professional. I would recommend Dr. Gelin to anyone looking for a Doctor.

Annual physical.

We are new to Floral City, and of course I got the flu and a bad sinus infection. I initially went to a walk-in clinic as I didn't have a doctor yet, but was still sick and having trouble breathing a couple weeks later. Afraid and worried, I took a chance and called Dr. Gelin's office even though I wasn't yet a patient. The entire experience from start to finish was compassionate and responsive. They worked me into his packed schedule and I was seen that very day! I love Dr. Gelin - he is kind and attentive, with proven experience which is important to me. Overall, he was knowledgeable and decisive. Thanks to everyone there at Dr. Gelin's office. I'm sending my hubby as a new patient!

I am a part- year resident of Floral City who experienced recurring congestion of my right eat affecting hearing through that ear. I decided to establish a more permanent relationship with Dr. Gelin's practice instead of going to an acute care facility. I secured a positive recommendation from a Floral City business owner. I was not disappointed with the professionalism and caring nature of Dr. Gelin and his entire staff. Should the need arrive in the future, I would have no hesitation in going back to Dr. Gelin's and will recommend him positively to anyone seeking local medical care. As a retired health care professional, I appreciate the professionalism displayed by him and his entire office staff.

I have never had a bad experience at citrus primary care, floral city. There have been times I have had to call and asked to please squeeze me in somehow because of something going on. The people who answer the phone are always accommodating. When you go there everyone has a smile and a friendly word. Dr. Gelin is tops. He has been around this county for a long time. He cares about this county and about the people. It shows. The people who work there have been there for years and years. That tells me it’s a good place to work as well. He is great! His nurses are wonderful. The staff is great!

I like that he doesn't try to cram all kinds of meds down your throat, I like that he actually listens to you & ASKS you what up & how do you feel. You get to see him & talk to him & not always a PA or someone else. If he took my husband's health ins he would switch in a minute.

I like Dr. Gelin and his staff, they are courteous and take time when needed to listen to your issues etc. I also like that I can get my blood work done right there, do not have to go to Lab Corp. I recommend Dr. Gelin and am very statisfied with him and his staff.

Dr. Gelin prescribed a new medication for my neuropathy symptoms. I am amazed at the improvement after just a few days of trying it. Wow! Thank You Dr. Gelin!

I’ve Been a patient of Dr. Gelin since the late 80’s. He is professional, to the point & compassionate. We are very fortunate to have him as a provider in our County. When sick I had no problem getting in to see him. The staff was fast and friendly in taking care of me. Made my admission to the hospital fast and easy,. I would highly recommend Dr. Glein to family and friends.

My husband is a patient of Dr Gelin for years now, all I can say is Dr Gelin knows his stuff and he is one hilarious individual. If you are going through just a cold or something more he can just make your whole life with his humor and bedside manner. Best doctor ever in my book. Can't say enough about him but I do thank him for always taking great care of my husband and I do not want to leave out the nurses that he employs. These ladies are on it, they run it like a well oiled machine.

He admitted he doubles or triples what the patient says he or she drinks. I told him the actual truth, but he didn't believe me. He does not drink and believes drinking will kill you. He told me I had 6 months to live if I didn't stop drinking. That was over 5 years ago and I am in great health at 77 yrs of age. While in hospital with double pneumonia, he did many liver enzyme tests and was forced to diagnose no liver disease. He ordered tests and put me into donut hole! Most on my liver!

He cares about his patients and will do whatever he can to make sure you are ok. He is a great doctor and is very caring and will even take the time to talk to you on the phone when needed, I have had him as my doctor for years now, and I trust him with my life. He has brought me from near death on hospice to a much more livable place. Thank you Dr. Gelin and your staff is so kind and caring and helpful. Even when I have called him very very very sick he has always been there for me. Best DR.
