Dr. John L Gosserand

I have been seeing Dr. Gosserand for years. I have IBS and have a colonoscopy every 5 years. He is very kind and caring and takes an interest in your symptoms. He has recently treated me for C-diff. When calling the office I always get a call back either from him or his nurse. Staff is friendly and polite. I highly recommend Dr. Gosserand.

Dr. Gosserand performed a colonoscopy on me, which went very well. To me, he's a very special doctor. He's very thorough and well experienced. He listens good and shares his thoughts about what is needed. I highly recommend him. H

-Very little wait time. -Staff very professional & pleasant. -Dr is professional, pleasant, and with great expertise.

DR.GOSSERAND IS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR AND HAS HELPED ME OUT ALOT!!!

Very pleasant and understanding Doctor. Knowledgeable. Takes time with patients and is very patient.He has GREAT bedside manners.

All these previous patients seem to not like him and/or do not agree with his diagnosis. Well it seems as though my hernia that was repaired twice in the 80's in New Orleans,La. and has since ruptured was hiding from him. Now when i was told by 2 doctors only one month after the last surgery that i should have it repaired it seems it must have been running from him. HE DIDN'T SEE IT!!!! I was told by him to find the doctor that did the surgery. He knows it was in the 80's and the surgeon was 57 years old. Like he couldn't recommend one here locally....HOW UNCARING!!!!!! Especially since that doctor would now be in his 90's and retired if still living. I needed a good laugh at least if nothing else. Wonder if i should trust the diagnosis of my tests?????

My husband was having severe choking when he would eat anything. I took him to Dr. Gosserand and he immediately proformed a procedure. He is full of energy and great to talk to. He will go to all extremes to help you. I will be using him January 2019 (Esphagus). I would recommend him to anyone. I love his character.. .. I know three friends (seniors) he did a tremendous job.

My adult daughter went to him with extreme stomach pain and unexplained weight loss, along with 3 weeks of diarrhea. He ordered a CT scan of her abdomen. His diagnosis: "You are constipated. I'll see you in November." (It's August.) After 2 more ER visits and finally going to her general doctor, she was diagnosed correctly with something HE should have been able to figure out since it's his specialty. DO NOT go to him.

In my initial visit, he seemed hurried and disinterested. He abruptly left the room. I didn't know the visit was over. At my followup visit, he told me that the polyp was precancerous and that I would need another colonoscopy in three years. He said, "You will only have two or three more because we don't do them on people in their 70's." I reminded him that my mother died of colon cancer, and he flippantly said, "I know." High-risk patients turn 70 and quit screening? I don't think so!

Seemed distracted and disinterested and even sarcastic. After about 10 minutes of discussion, he stood up and said he was going to schedule my test and left. I had more questions so I waited, his nurse came in and started to clean up and when I asked if he was going to come back, she said no. I had to chase him down at the nurses station to ask the rest of my questions. His diagnosis turned out to be totally incorrect, confirmed thru another doctor using more modern testing methods.

Dr Gosserand & his nurses are excellent. always have been treated in a timely manner, nurses returned phone calls quickly and my conditions were always explained in a way i understood (not too much medical terminology). He is a very personable doctor and listens thoroughly.

I would definitely recommend Dr. Gosserand because he is a very competent physician. He performed a endoscopy and colonoscopy on me and opened up a stricture in my esophagus that was causing me to experience dysphagia (pain on swallowing).

After I came back for a checkup after testing ands treatment (with no relief), I informed him that I was still having the same symptoms. He offered to write a prescription for a medicine that he had already prescribed. After I told him this, he said well looks like you don't need to come back for another ten years. Once I was so sick & leaning on the wall & the staff said, you're sick huh? No help-discouraged
