I had the absolute worst experience ever with Dr. Koo. After a wait of nearly an hour, Dr. Koo not only misdiagnosed my condition, he never reviewed any of my records, nor did he do any testing. When I told him what I thought I had, he told me I was mentally ill and wrote that in my records, which stigmatized me from that moment forward. Later, after many months of excruciating pain and sleepless nights, I was diagnosed--and it wasn't a delusion. Dr. Koo got great pleasure out of pompously expounding to his audience of interns that I was delusional if I believed I had anything other than what he erroneously insisted was "Dermatitis." Dermatitis is a catch-all secondary finding that incompetent doctors use when their egos are too big to admit that they have no idea what is causing the rash (or dermatitis). I didn't need to spend hours being a test subject for a bunch of med students only to be told I have a rash. I've met some condescending doctors in my time (who hasn't?), but Dr. Koo is a parody of arrogance. At the end of the visit, he said to me, "You should be grateful I took so much time with you. I usually only spend a few minutes with my patients." Um, yeah, thanks Dr. Koo, for calling me crazy, for humiliating me in front of 4 interns, and especially for the secondary finding that really means you have absolutely no idea what I have or what's causing it.
