I went to see Dr. Manalo as a patient who desperately needs hip replacement. X-rays show I am bone on bone and the pain is excruciating. My BMI is over 40 so there is a slight risk I could develop an infection and that was all he cared about. He didn’t hear me telling him I am in pain, that the pain is causing lower back pain, groin pain, neck pain, depression, not participating in life. He didn’t care when I said that to me, these are a greater risk for my health than a possible infection. He didn’t listen when I said my husband currently works from home so I’d have excellent care post op. It was ALL about the weight and I felt no compassion from him whatsoever.

Dr. Manalo is very nice and explains things in a way that you understand. He is always asking if you have any questions. Dr. Is the only one that I know of that calls you the day before and ask you if you have any questions. He sends and email very morning from a week or two before your surgery until a couple of weeks after your surgery asking you questions about yourself and to see if there is anything going on that he should know about. He was very helpful on a problem that I had not related to my surgery. Very nice Dr.

Dr, Manalo did a total knee replacement on both my knees. My experience was very positive from start to finish. I couldn’t have asked for a better/more caring doctor or nursing staff. Their follow-up system is top notch! I had a reaction to my staples on the second knee. Dr. Manalo and staff went out of their way to get me in ON A SATURDAY to have them removed! If it weren’t for pain and recovery, I‘d have it all done again! Ha! Fort Wayne Ortho, you rock!

Dr. Manalo was a referral from Dr. Cooper due to complications from previous surgical attempt. He did such a good job that at 2 weeks after surgery I am ahead of schedule on recuperation. That also includes diligently doing the recommended pre- and post-op therapy exercises. Dr. Manalo offers a lot of information to aid in recovery.

From start to finish, my total knee replacement experience with Dr Manalo and FWO has been nothing short of stellar. Dr Manalo listened carefully to all of my questions and concerns for sometime before I finally opted for the surgery. He was very patient and never seemed to be in a hurry to rush on to another patient. A particularly helpful part of the procedure was their “joint camp“, in which my spouse and I were carefully walked through the entire procedure and aftermath in a period of three hours. My wife was much more relaxed after having gotten all the information given out there. Post surgery, I only needed to use the walker for three days, the cane for two more, and was walking solo in less than a week. I was running circles around people in physical therapy who had had their surgery weeks before I had. Also, he has kept in touch with me every day since the surgery through a very well done email program. I heartily recommend Dr Manalo and his staff.

Dr Manalo did my left knee replacement in May of 2019 and my right knee replacement in January 2020. I think he is an incredible surgeon as well as an incredible person. My experience has been exceptional. My physical therapist wanted to know all about my surgeon and Ft Wayne Ortho as I recovered extremely fast compared to others. I know that some of it was my work ethic to recover but Dr. Manalo’s work must be included as well. He emails his patients daily for a couple of weeks with things to watch for and reminders. His last thing in the email is “Do you have a question”. When I had a question, he answered me very promptly. I would recommend Dr. Manalo and FWO to anyone. He’s the best!!

Great doctor

I was really reluctant at first to have my hip and knee replacements. However Dr Manalo made the whole process for both operations extremely successful and recovery much less painful and quicker than anticipated. Just follow his instructions before and after surgery. He’s very professional, progressive and positive.

I received excellent care from Dr. Manalo before, during and after my partial knee replacement. His staff is also top-notch. He is honest in his assessment. He is kind and encouraging.
