My family doctor is Dr. Rejer, but he was not available on short notice so I was seen by Dr. Rau. I was very pleased with Dr. Rau's knowledge and bed-side manner. I would recommend him.

I see Dr Rau, since about 2013. Excellent doctor, I trust his decisions, guidance, and instructions. I may be a little difficult at times because I am an LPN, but I generally follow the plan. I appreciate his quick responses when I have questions. I like him so well, one of my daughters sees him, also. I also love his staff.

I went to this practice for years. When my PCP left, I was automatically placed with Dr. Rau. My experiences with him and with the front office staff were unfortunately very unpleasant.

I have been seeing Dr. Rau for three or four years now, but no more. At the beginning, i thought his prickly and aloof demeanor was because we didn't know each other, but it hasn't really gotten any better over time. He is obviously quite knowledgeable and talented, but he would probably do better as an hospitalist, or some other specialization where extended doctor/patient relationships are not as important. We've been with this office on and off for over twenty years. First with Dr.Murphy and then Dr.Miles. Unfortunately Dr.Miles left and the abundance of his patients was just to much for the remaining doctors to take on. So we had to seek out a new physician. Push forward several years and we were NOT happy with our health insurances choice of doctor. In a completely different health network. So on a whim I called Southeast family medicine and found out Dr.Rau was accepting new patients. At first I was worried because Dr.Rau is a younger doctor. I was so used to older doctors, I wasn't sure if he would be the right fit for our family. Now several years later, I'm so glad he accepted us as patients. My husband and I as well as our four boys really feel cared for. From the time we walk in the door and until we walk out! Dr.Rau is an awesome doctor and Southeast family medicine have a wonderful staff. My family will be patients of Dr.Rau' s for as long as he'll have us. Doctor Rau is a little haughty, but I can handle that. The tight pants, the hipster beard, the sweater vests--not ideal, but acceptable. It's the administrative staff who are unbearable. The front office is reigned over by a gaggle of wire-haired harpies with the bedside manner of a cornered opossum. These chicks ride the most serious power trip I've ever seen, and are experts in tactical passive-aggressive control techniques. Last time, I approached the front desk and asked if I needed to sign in, and they would not even say "Yes" or "No". Why? Because it was 7:55am (or whatever) and they weren't officially open for another five minutes. In the time it took to dismiss me, the particular gorgon I spoke with could have simply answered. To be sure, you'll want to watch out for the one-armed lady. Mean, mean, mean. That's all I'll say about that. So, today, I had my third bad experience in a row, over the course of about eighteen months or so, and I'm flying the coop. Those people can kiss my lily white grits! For two years I've seen Dr. Rau, 2 long, hard, tactless, high-horse, frigid years. He has been dismissive, rude, rushed and very open about not caring. The quality of care is deplorable. The nurses I have spoken with have been accusatory, demeaning and down right cruel. No. I do not suggest seeing Dr. Rau at all. I don't quick easily but there comes a time when enough is enough. I can't stress enough how much his behavior in the office made me feel. It wasn't a bad bedside manner, it was his unwillingness to engage, to listen to my concerns. I had 5 to 10 min appointments, tops. He signed the paper, handed it to me and left the room, each time. His behavior over the last 2 years was nothing short of damaging to me. One nurse of his was so combative and accusatory that I had to file a formal complaint with the office manager at which time I also discussed Dr. Rau's frigid behavior. She was aware of it, and said that things had improved, but the damage has already been done. I've had two long term non-narcotic scripts denied by his new nurse which is a hardship. Gabapentin has been given me for a long time by Dr. Rau, there is no need to deny that script, ever. I am not and have never been one to abuse meds. This newest ordeal with this office is a huge, huge burden on a patient who was already bruised by the doctor's attitude. I have no comment on the ladies at the front desk. They've always been nice to me. There's a person in the back that answers the phone that can be very combative for no good reason. When you hear these things repeatedly, take them seriously. Very professional, good bedside manner, asks the right questions, and very caring. Great doctor !
