I am not really impressed with the care I received from dr. Rich. Any doctor that sends a patient home after surgery with no pain management I bored needs to have their head examined. I was told to put ice on the surgical site and elevated and take extra strength Tylenol and when these steps did not prove effective enough I told him it's not working what do I do now??! I am not one to complain usually about anyting, but when I do you know it's legit I hate taking pills to begin with. The pain is so bad tha,t it keeps me awake at night and it's on the same arm that I have my dialysis fistula onp and the pain is going all the way up the arm to the fistula area ! amnot ia happy camper with this . .

We love Dr Rich. My wife is a type one diabetic and has had surgery for trigger finger several times and has had steroid injections half a dozen times over the years. His bedside manner may be disconcerting to some people but he’s straight forward and doesn’t waste your time.

Went here for trigger finger, recieved a steroid shot, all he warned me about was higher sugar levels, he never mentioned that I could possibly go into tachycardia. Last night my blood pressure went up to 171/94 with a heart rate of 128. I was sweating and I could feel my heart pounding in my whole body. Being a diabetic with high blood pressure i was not supposed to recieved this shot at all. Beware of dr rich. I will never go back there again. I'd like to live and not die because he doesn't know or care what about hes doing. So very grateful for Dr. Rich and his team @ Scranton Orthopedics. I suffered from a complex open dislocation of my elbow, which happened out of town. Dr. Rich was my follow up Dr. He explained everything very thoroughly to me, timeline and what my recovery would be like. The therapy team is amazing and my healing process has been very fast. I thought I would dread going weekly to therapy and it's always a very positive experience. My arm is healing amazingly Thanks to this Team of Professionals! I had carpal tunnel surgery by Dr. Rich. The nerve test procedure was excruciating. The surgery was a failure. Now he says I have to do the process all over again! If I decide to repeat the ordeal again, it will NOT be with him.

He diagnosed me with carpal tunnel and informed me that I had to receive a shot and come back in one month and wear a brace. On my next visit he asked how my wrist felt and I informed him it was still very painful and I felt the shot didn’t help. He told me well in that case surgery won’t work either and walked out of the room. I found his behavior to be disconcerting and illogical. I’d like to give a negative star review, but I’m not given that option. Doctors like him are why people tell you to leave the area. This man had no personality and acted like it was a bother to simply be there. Thankfully, my husband went for a 2nd opinion after seeing this doctor. Even after viewing the nerve conduction tests, that identified problems in the c2 to c7 my husband was diagnosed with carpal tunnel and was told he needed to “See when it was too much. When you’re not able to do your job anymore, then we’ll cut your wrist open”. He was given a cortisone shot in his right wrist when it ended up he needed spinal surgery for spinal impingement. Without this surgery he would’ve been in a wheelchair by age 50. Trust your gut and don’t go with this guy. When a middle aged man huffs and rolls his eyes like a teenager asked to do chores, anywhere else would be better.

Doctor Rich performed thumb surgery on my right hand. He informed of what to expect, answered all my questions and suggested options when possible. All went extremely well. Have to schedule my left thumb but I’m putting it off as long as possible due to the extremely long roecovery time on this type of surgery. He also performed surgery on both my wife’s hands due to carpal tunnel. He is an excellent hand surgeon and both myself and my wife highly recommend him.

I called for an appointment in April. I was told the first available date was in late June. I got there a half hour early, as they requested. When I asked how long a wait they had, they refused to answer, and said it was impossible to know. When I insisted, I was referred to a manager. When I started getting angry, I was finally told that they were running at least one and one half hour late. I eventually waited nearly two hours. I was so tired and angry I barely remember the actual exam

He was walking out the door while I was still talking to him. He gave me very little advice on how I can alleviate pain in my hand and wrist while working besides to use a thicker pen. I type all day. I don't use a pen!
