John Steven Walczyk

Dr. Walzcyk is a superb practitioner: able, capable, smart, conscientious, well-trained....but his office is severely compromised. The OFFICE MANAGER's behavior was so offensive and insufferable that I have been driven away. Most, not all, of the staff are utterly incompetent and totally untrained. The tragic thing is that such a good doctor is so laid low and mis-served by a DREADFUL office and staff. Unforgettably MISERABLE experience.

We’ve been seeing Dr. Walczk for years and he is a wonderful doctor! He is highly skilled in the area of dermatology; i.e., very careful/gentle when removing skin tags and cysts and an expert with laser therapy. He is a very honest and trusting doctor. Thank you Dr. Walczyk for your expertise!!

I arrived for my appointment 10 minutes early, and once I arrived the manager told me that the appointment was cancelled, even though I never cancelled it and they had never notified me about it. They told me to have a seat, and I had to wait an hour until every other patient was seen before me. Finally, someone who arrived an hour after me was the only person left in the waiting room with me. A woman called my name to take me to the doctor’s examining room, and then the manager jumped in front of her and stopped her, very rudely repeating that I “go sit” and that I have to wait until all other patients are seen. 11/5/2020 Addendum: I think it's inappropriate for the doctor to give himself 5 stars (see below). I've never seen that before. This forum is for patients, not for doctors to pat themselves on the back. And it skews results. I believe it's highly inappropriate. I went to see Dr. John Walczyk in February 2017. I was asked to come in 15 minutes prior to my appointment. I waited over two hours to see him, and when I finally did, it was only for a couple of minutes. The only warning about the long wait time was posted in the patient room (they blame the government), not in the waiting area. I don't have this issue with any other doctors I see, and they also have to deal with government regulations. None of the receptionists I interacted with warned me of the long wait time. Since that visit, and as a follow-up to my condition, I've left three messages with him to call me. He hasn't returned any of my calls. My father had skin cancer on his forehead a few years ago, and about 6 months ago, we met Dr. Walczyk for the first time. At that time, Dr. Walczyk applied some treatment on his forehead without consulting me or my father who has difficulty in communicating in English. I just let it go since it was our first appointment with Dr. Walczyk after all. Today, after the routine exam, I wanted to ask a few questions. That was when I was confronted by his staff demanding to know the nature of my request to talk to the doctor. I explained the situation, and one of the staff just went into his office. Less than 30 seconds later, the staff, not the doctor, came back saying there was nothing to worry about or discuss. I demanded at that point that I needed to talk to Dr. Walczyk, and that's when Dr. Walczyk came out to talk to me. It was very clear that he was irritated and didn't want to be bothered. After less than a minute of terse explanation, he just walked right back into his office. Wow?? I have been treated by Dr. Walczyk and his staff and they were lovely. I wan in and out maybe waited 5 minutes after filling out paperwork and he took a sample of my skin and sent it to further testing. Dr. Walczyk sent my specimen to two of the best pathologist in the State of New York, Colombia Presbyterian and Sloan Kettering. I am in process to continue preventive treatment. If it wasn't for Dr. Walczyk and his staff I probably would not be healthy right now. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Do not believe any negative reviews you read and if for any reason you get to wait on an appointment, maybe it's because the patient before you had a much severe case than yours. Be patient! after all, you are receiving top of the notch and the best attentive treatment! It's worth the wait! Thank you Dr. Walczyk! Dr. Walczyk and his staff are wonderful!!!!

I have been going to Dr. Walczyk for about 23 years now. He is the best dermatologist around. He's very thorough. He has helped my acne cysts. I've had to have several injections in my face & by far he's the most gentle. He has caught a blood clot in my leg & sent me to the appropriate doctors. He has caught skin cancer. I cannot say enough. He is just amazing. I travel 40 miles one way for my visits and I will continue to do so.

Doctor Walczyk is very nice and generally a good doctor but always seems to be in a rush. I had okay experiences at this place up to my last appointment which was just frustrating and annoying. So.. I got there and had to wait even though I was in time for my appointment. Nothing different than usual. When I got to the office to speak to the doctor I was informed that I was due for a general check up.... I refused since I was in my lady days and I felt embarrassed .... but the little idiot (his assistant) seemed to be offended by my refusal... wow! Somehow I was tolerant and let her rudeness and lack of professionalism slide off (because who cares) but after the doctor did his job and left the office she switched back to her nasty mood ... she even placed one of the bandages so badly that my husband had to take it off my hair seconds after I left his office. I was supposed to make an appointment but I just walked out of that office before I threw that little brat out the window. He should evaluate better the team that will be interacting with his patients. Between insurance and my pocket it’s around $200 per visit. Really disappointed with this doctor and his staff members. The treatments he gave me did not work. His staff was rude on the phone, and I didn't feel that the doctor or his staff members listened to or cared about my concerns at all. They also didn't call me back when I had a question about a prescription. At the end of the visit, they try to sell you expensive creams to take more of your money. Don't waste your time here, there are better rated doctors in the area.

Dr. Walczyk is the best. I had a rash for over a year. Saw several dermatologists that not one was able to make it go away. At the first visit with Dr. Walczyk he prescribed the correct ointment and the rash was gone!

Office is uber-efficient. Exams are fast, but thorough. Would like a little more time on occasion, but he lets nothing slide. My other doctors speak highly of him as well.

LOVE Dr. Walczyk!! He's been taking care of my skincare needs for over ten years and I go to him for everything; from skin tag removal to laser treatments for redness and he is amazing. Immaculate office and great staff, Manhasset Dermatology is by far the best you will find and I highly recommend Dr. Walczyk to everyone!

I had a billing request and left multiple messages and sent notes to the office. They didn't even have the common curtesy to respond. There are plenty of qualified dematoligist in the area. Don't wast your time here.
