I’ve been seeing Dr. Xenos since 2015. I’m extreme with exercise and I have bad genes. I had a labral tear in my left hip that he fixed in 2016. Immediately after surgery, my pain was gone. I’ve had no problems since. Both of my knees are shot and I’m getting ready for total replacements. Dr. Xenos listens to me, explains my scans and X-rays - what he sees, the pain I’m experiencing. I’d say he’s the best and most qualified ortho around. So glad he was recommended to me years ago ????
I went to see him in aug 2022 he said he could help so I believe him,but after surgery was whole new nightmare for me ,I can't walk or sleep or do normal activities because for 4 months after I been feeling grinding and popping and my right bone is sticking out on my hip, they been ignoring me finally I beg for new kind of xray jan 5,2023 I got them to a CT scan we waited over month for them to tell us they said the bone is sticking out is causing the pain They said surgery is the next stept dr. keoing won't allow that so i told him I want dr. Xeonos to call me he won't. They mess my right hip worse then ever I wouldn't trust them PERIOD!!!!!!
After two personal referrals to Dr. Xenos, I scheduled a consultation for my needed anterior hip replacement surgery. Dr. Xenos and his PA spent a lot of time explaining everything and answering all the questions I had. The surgery went great, and six weeks later I can't believe how "normal" I feel. Sometimes I forget I even had surgery. If you want an excellent surgeon and caring staff with great outcomes, I highly recommend Dr. Xenos and Colorado Orthopedics.
Dr Xenos performed hip revision surgery including removal of rod/pins from emergency hip fracture repair 6 months prior. He acknowledged the complexity of the surgery, treated me with the upmost respect and professionalism, and clearly explained his approach, plans and expected outcomes. He gave me so much confidence and his office staff was amazing - I knew I was with the right surgeon.
This doctor is a total talent-less clown, and his staff, namely this business manager, is the dumbest individual I have ever seen. When you make an appointment you are made to wait nearly two hours before you see this clown, and he only see you for 2 minutes, and expects you to schedule surgery after that. Dr. Xenos did my knee replacement in 2018, and I have had nothing but problems with it since. He was careless, and more interested in his fee, than doing a professional job for his patients. Also, his office tried to scam me, by getting me to pay my total out of pocket, prior to surgery, in spite of the fact that my bill was for far less... I asked them if Anthem was aware of that, and they begged me not to tell Anthem. There are hundreds of better surgeons in the front range, just run from this talent-less clown, and his rude, dishonest staff. After years of leg & hip pain, Dr. Xenos replaced my hip. I went home the same day, off pain meds the next day and off walker on day 3. I’m walking without a limp, able to hike, go to gym, ride motorcycle, etc. - all pain-free! I highly recommend Dr. Xenos and his all-star staff.
Dr Xenos and his team at Colorado Othropaedics were so fantastic to work with. Dr Xenos was extremely patient and thorough in his assessment of my injury, and took the time to explain in detail his recommended approach to getting me back on my feet. The surgery went so much better than I could have expected, Dr Xenos used state of the art methods to treat my injury and to my surprise just 4 days after surgery I was back on my feet with no crutches. Thank you to Dr Xenos and the pleasant staff at Colorado Orthopaedics for treating me like I am the only patient you have in the building, I so appreciate all you've done for me! He performed surgery on my shoulder almost 4 years ago and during the first surgery he admitted he didn’t have time to finish so he had to do another surgery at a later date. Since then I have had to have 4 more surgeries to correct his mistakes. On the last surgery I had done by a different surgeon he found a stitch that was left from the first surgery and the repair that Xenos did on my deltoid was done incorrectly so he had to fix it. PLEASE stay away from Dr. Xenos there is so many other other orthopedic surgeons out there that are more knowledgeable and actually care about their patients.
Awful. So glad we got up and walked out of his office the day before surgery with him. Staff is incompetent. Do your self a favor Seek help elsewhere.
Saw Dr Xenos( now in WI) for a independent medical evaluation. He had a list of questions to ask and upon reading his summary, he did not listen. Half of his written answers were NOT what I told him. His decision made a huge impact on my work status. I wish he would’ve taken his job seriously as a physician

Dr. Xenos is an amazing and down-to-earth doctor. He is not going to rush you in and out of his office and will take his time with you. With all of this said, I am very happy to spend some extra time waiting as I have never felt as if I was simply a number in his office. He is thorough and will answer all your questions. For those who complain about time waiting, this is the reason so either go to a doctor where you will be rushed in and out or take a little time to get all your answers, which means all of his patients. Take the time to wait and you will be amazed by what this doctor will do for you and will listen. I would wait any day to get the service that Xenos has given me.
During my surgery (02/20/2020), my ‘tray was contaminated’, Dr. Xenos put me on very strong antibiotics which caused me to vomit for several days. He was not happy with my progress at my first appt. (He is extremely disrespectful of the patients time. I waited more than one hour past my appt time.) After this I worked very hard and made up the lost ground but by April I was still not sure of my progress so we decided in favor of a manipulation. After the procedure I began to experience nerve pain so when I saw him at my next visit I couldn’t yet say I was “glad I did it”. At this point his treatment of me shifted. He said “You have a good result. You just can’t be happy. You probably should not have done it.” I received no further support from the Dr. It’s now been a year and I can say that I would NOT recommend Dr. Xenos. I now believe that something happened to the nerve during surgery. I know plenty of people who have no pain at the one year mark and that is not my story.
My visits and surgery with Dr xenos was fabulous. I felt very comfortable with my knee replacement. It was seamless. He was thorough, explained the procedure and prepared me well. I had quick recovery & HIGHLY recommend him. I will be using him for my 2nd knee when the time comes.

DON’T USE DR XENOS!!! We were treated by Dr Xenos over a period of almost two years. Over this time, he performed two shoulder surgeries, many office visits and prescribed countless rehab sessions. Dr Xenos also had us take several MRI’s, x-rays, EMG, and other tests that not only very expensive, but turned out unnecessary. After two years of treatment, we are no better off than when we started. We finally decided to find a different doctor and have yet have a third surgery to finally fix my shoulder. My new doctor has admitted that Dr Xenos did a very poor job on my shoulder and he didn’t understand why. This all started in mid-2018 with an initial surgery to fix frozen shoulder, bicep tendon, and some impingement. After the first surgery Dr Xenos admitted that he probably should have done more and that we might have to come in for a second surgery. This was told to my husband directly after surgery to our surprise. Why not just take care of everything while he was performing surgery the first time? We can speculate why, he had at least 6 other surgeries scheduled back to back that day. The next day we were scheduled to come into his office to evaluate my shoulder. I was still recovering from surgery and feeling very nauseous and was in extreme pain. They had me sit in the waiting room for over 2 hours past my scheduled time to finally see me. This became a common occurrence for every appointment I had with this office for over two years. They never were on time and didn’t seem to really care about it. I was excited when I was seen 45 min late, because the norm was over an hour late. Dr Xenos performed a second surgery in Dec 2018 and again the same result. Poor service in the office, and no resolution to my shoulder. I have dealt with pain, two surgeries, countless office visits, countless rehab sessions, and thousand of dollars to repair my shoulder with Dr Xenos. All of this for nothing. Please don’t use Dr Xenos for your orthopedic needs, there are many other doctors out there that will take care of your issues the first time, and care about their patients. DON’T USE DR XENOS!!! My knee is amazing. Dr Xenos was great! I would highly recommend him!
I am contacted regularly to ask how I am progressing. Any time I need support, I go to the patient portal and am contacted the next day. They have been very helpful and responsive.
Great Doc and a great group of people at this office! My husband and I both had knee replacements and we couldn't be more pleased with the outcome.

One of the best doctors ever. Had two knee replacements in the last year and I am doing good thanks to Dr. Xenos. Cant go wrong with this Dr.
I had two knee replacements and it has really changed my life. Before surgery, I was in constant pain and my mobility was extremely limited. Now I’m enjoying traveling and getting out and living life again!
My experience with Dr. Xenos and Sky Ridge was wonderful. My recovery has gone very well and I believe that is due to the outstanding care I received. I cannot thank you enough!
One of the BEST Dr. you will ever come across, he treated me for a knee problem that required replacement and my life has never been better, he also treated my son for a football knee injury and he is back to 100%. We can’t say enough how well his staff has treated us and made time adjustments around school schedules.
I was in a lot of pain in my right hip. Dr Zenos used his magic fingers & took away ALL my pain. He replaced my right hip & was very attentive to my healing & made sure me & my hip were good throughout the whole process. Doctor Xenos is very thorough and engaged during the examination. He is warm and genuinely cares about his patients, seeking the best solution in his diagnosis. I especially like his measured approach to the problem, making sure that surgery is truly the best alternative before recommending it.
Dr. Zenos did both of my knee replacements, I was bone on bone on both knees and hardly able to walk when I went to see him about the surgeries. I am now able to walk without any assistance of any kind. he took in to consideration all my other medical problems and worked around them. Dr. Xenos is the best orthopedic surgeon ever. He and his staff truly cares about each patient and their recovery. Dr. Xenos has replaced my knee and hip. He has the best demeanor towards his patients and I encourage everyone to go to him for their orthopedic needs.
Dr Xenos took care of me when another Dr really gave me poor care. I had a total knee replacement where the other doctor neglected to attatch the new knee to the bones. Because of that ; i was in great pain, off balance and fell several times. I went back several times to ask why and he kept telling me the replacement was perfect. When i finally was sent 8 yrs later to get xrayed by my personal physician they found that my tibia and my femur were broken and the new knee was just floating around and doing damage.I came to dr Xenos and my experience could not have been better. He did not promise that he could help, but said he would do his best if I allowed him to try. He apologized for what the other doctor did. I have had more than my share of experiences with surgeons. Dr Xenos is skilled and caring. His humility is refreshing. He placed rods and a new knee in the leg to repair it. I was walking pretty much immediately and healed with no problem. I truly don't know where to begin with my praises for Dr. Xenos! My internal medicine doctor referred me to him after many disappointing attempts with other doctors. Dr. Xenos is probably the most compassionate, educated and experienced Dr. I have had the pleasure to have. He is amazing. He gave me my life back. I had double knee replacement surgery about 8 years ago. I was up walking that night, sitting up having breakfast when he came to check on me and left the hospital after only 3 days. My recovery was excellent all the way through rehab. My Physical Therapist says Dr. Xenos's patients are the quickest to recover he has ever worked with. I had both knees replaced 12 weeks apart. Couldn't ask for a better experience. Before during and after, Dr Xenos, his staff and skyridge hospital made me feel like a priority, truly cared for and treated with skill and compassion. Dr Xenos is an amazing surgeon as well as a very kind man. He's attentive, encouraging and takes his time to educate and make you feel comfortable and knowledgeable about your condition and surgery. He's my favorite doctor and I'm so grateful I chose him to give me my new knees. I never imagined I could really be without pain and able to do so many things again. It's a long awaited reality that I owe to Dr. Xenos. I saw other doctors and read so many reviews, but when I met him I knew that he was the right one. I write this review for others who are trying to make a good choice for their knee replacement surgery. It's a big decision not to take lightly. Good luck!
I can't praise Doctor Xenos enough. He and his staff are awesome. I've seen the top 10 ortho docs in Metro area and had 2 TKR and a revision. 2 surgeries were painfully unsuccessful and Doctor Xenos was the first to see what the problem was, come up with a course of action and perform a successful TKR. His and his staff's concern and attention has been amazing. I wish I had found him in the first place and recommend him highly for your hip and knee issues.

He examined me for approx. 16 min. determined all my issues were degenerative and I was fine. He does IME examinations for insurance companies, is paid very well for writing reports in favor of the insurance company. Very well !
Web Site says they are looking for new participants. My insurance and Their website both say they take my insurance. Call to make an appointment and low and behold they aren't accepting any new participants.
Dr. John Xenos has ruined my life. He prolonged my surgery for 3 months and one of his reasons was because his brother was in town. Dr Xenos has 0 empathy for his patience, even when i was describing all my other issues (2 protuding discs in my neck, 2 protruding discs in my low back, and early arthritis in my left hip) that are making the pain in my hip impingement worse his reaction is ' I can't fix everything Im not god' when all i wanted was better treatment for my pain. So due to a misunderstanding on a phone call with a receptionist the day before my 3 month prolonged surgery, he comes in the pre-op room on sept 28th and says im not doing your surgery. Would not let me speak and walks out. I begged and pleaded but he did not care. My life has been a trainwreck since but I am putting the pieces back together. Absolutely avoid this practice. They are arrogant and greedy. They could care less about anyone and their employees reflect their miserable mentality. If you choose to see these indignant practice, be prepared to wait a minimum hour plus to get to an exam room to only wait more. I took my mother-in-law for an appointment and waited an hour before we were finally taken to a waiting room. We saw two other people, which clearly was just another delay tactic. Finally, saw Dr. Xenos and he suggested hip replacement. It was agreed he would calibrate with her heart doctor to make sure she was strong for surgery. This never happened despite efforts by the cardiologist. He also never reviewed the CT and bone scans he ordered a month ago. I scheduled a surgery review appointment with Candi and was told afternoon appointments are always delayed. I asked if I could just come later than the scheduled time and was told no. Well, today we got to our afternoon appointment and after waiting 50 minutes I asked the rude and dismissive receptionist how much longer was the wait. My mother-in-law was uncomfortable and hot. The reception area must have HVAC issues and the water machine is broken. I was told it would be another 30 minutes. BTW - the bathroom on the main floor of the Lone Tree building has no handicapped automatic door and its heavy. Not exactly set up for people with hip issues and walkers. Perhaps, they should not schedule so many appointments in the afternoon, if they get backed up each day. But, that would mean less money for this greedy practice. They prefer to make you wait. Thank you, Dr Xenos and team! I had my left total knee done 4 months ago and today I am walking 2 miles and riding my recumbent bike 3-4 miles daily. I do not have pain or discomfort after these activities. Prior to the surgery I had daily pain that awoke me from sleep almost nightly. Being totally honest the post-op recovery is arduous. It is best to prepare yourself prior to the surgery. Anything that you can do to make yourself stronger physical and mentally is a huge benefit. This was my second total knee replacement. I had the right one done by a wonderful Physician in Illinois in 2015 that I have known by reputation for years. I have only lived in Colorado for a year and was a bit nervous having my knee done by people that I did not know well. That said, I have to say that I very much appreciated all the preop, in hospital and post op care that I received. It is an excellent team that includes Dr Xenos, Jordan PA-C, the office staff, The Sky Ridge Spine and Joint Center and Sky Ridge hospital staff. This is a team of highly talented, caring and professionals. Technology has changed for the better over the past several years. The second knee is designed to last a lot longer than the first one. Dr Xenos performed my hip replacement surgery about 5 years ago. Never have I been treated so kindly and the surgery was a 100% success. He is a wonderful surgeon and a great person.
Dr Xenos is awesome! He is straight forward and tells you how it is. Gives you your options with a clear understanding of the risk's. He is truly concerned for the patient. Always ready to answer any question you may have. I would recommend Dr Xenos to all my friends and Family.
Dr Xenos did a total hip replacement last week of Dec 2018.. I am 13 weeks out and would tell anyone that needs this procedure to call Dr Xenos right away. He explains everything, he kind, compassionate and really cares about YOU! I am pain free and able to walk and hike without pain for the first time in 15 yrs.
Dr Xenos is absolutely fantastic! My wife had bilateral knee replacement about 5yrs ago - not ONE problem! I had him do my ACL replacement August 8 ‘18 and would have absolutely NO problem with “going in blind” and telling Dr Xenos to do whatever he needs to do and tell me about it later! I have absolute faith in him and his staff! We drive 400 miles round trip to see him. My Physical Therapist said “there are a lot of painters between here and there but Dr Xenos is an artist! I agree!!
If you expect kind, helpful staff, respectful service, reasonable wait times, or a concerned surgeon go elsewhere. I was sorely disappointed with my experience with Dr. Xenos over the course of three months. I cancelled surgery with him because I honestly believe he would not take my well being into consideration based on how he runs his greedy and arrogant practice.

Called in Feb 23rd and scheduled appointment for March 1st. I show up 15 minutes early, and there is a massive delay because the temp they hired didn't know how to work their X-Ray machine. After finally speaking with the front desk 45 minutes later, they tell me the appointment isn't in their system. I checked my phone logs to confirm they were indeed the ones I scheduled with. They were - it was their number, 6 minute conversation. (edit: and now they have the audacity to say the same thing in their response - ABSOLUTELY AVOID THEM). Most likely they decided on the spot it would help their other patients to lie to me and say this, and just hope that I would reschedule for another time. Absolute amateur operation and would avoid at all costs - many upset patients. Called in Feb 23rd and scheduled appointment for March 1st. I did not have a good experience here! I saw two different PA’s, Never saw the doctor. I did get an MRI for my knee and found out that I had a medial meniscus tear. I was doing CrossFit when the injury occurred and had been dealing with the pain since July 2017. I am 54 and I also had OA in my knee, which is no surprise. I had a physical job and my knees took a lot of abuse. I got no help from this office at all and was told to just do some PT and deal with it by the PA. Dr. Xenos did not even take time to see me himself. I only went to this office, due to the positive reviews, but I left feeling worse than I did before! I did not have a good experience here! Dr. Xenos is wonderful and his staff are the best.
Dr xenos performed two knee operations nearly ten years ago on me.Being able to walk upright with no pain is such a joy. What a blessing to be his patient. Foremost Dr. Xenos is truly a kind and caring Doctor. Thanks to a true friend.
I have had the most wonderful experience with every staff member at Dr Xenos' office. Dr Xenos is absolutely amazing. I would recommend him to everyone who needs this type of care. Even the receptionist are very helpful and sincere. I'm glad he was recommended to me.
This doctor and his entire staff goes above and beyond. I have had 2 surgeries with him and my husband just underwent a major leg surgery. His recovery is going great and I can only attribute that to Dr Xenos amazing skill. Not only is he a great doctor but a great person.

Dr. Xenos and his staff are phenomenal. I had a right total hip replacement 4 months ago. He was so kind, compassionate, explained everything in a way I could understand. I trust him 100%. The day of surgery he did everything he could to make me feel at ease. After surgery, he was right there making sure I was ok. I had such a wonderful experience with Dr. Xenos. I highly recommend him!

I saw Dr Xenos about my hip injury and did not have a good experience. He talked more to his PA than to me and he did not seem to care about my wellbeing at all.. I left feeling worse about things than when I went in. Definitely would not recommend him.
Dr Xenos is great, he really takes time to talk to his patients and listen to them.
