Recently had a complete left shoulder replacement. Dr. Abboud and his care team were excellent. They went above and beyond for customer care and satisfaction, helping me understand what was going to happen the entire process through recovery. They made me very comfortable and relaxed during the process. After the surgery, I couldn't be more impressed with the outcome and the after care follow up. His dedication and skill are second to none. I highly recommend Dr. Abboud.

This is my second shoulder surgery with Dr Abboud. There absolutely is no better. The level of care from him & his team is exceptional & truly not experienced by any other doctor that I have used. Dr Abboud provides individual care that surpasses others. I used another Dr outside of Rothman & had to make several calls before a call was returned. I was simply told that the Dr was on vacation but no one returned my call after concern from a surgery. Dr Abboud & his Rothman team provide an expedient service that I feel is unmatched. They truly listen & provide their best expertise. These days, who gives their personal cell!? I heard complaints from patients with similar diagnosis but I have always referred them back to the Rothman family who cares for all my arthritic challenges. My trust is with them. They are my sounding board.

Dr. Abboud is hands down the BEST shoulder surgeon. I have suffered unnecessarily for 15 yrs. I've previously had 6 surgeries by 3 different surgeons. Saw Dr. Abboud after a failed reverse total shoulder replacement. He was the most empathetic & compassionate surgeon that I've ever met. He was spot on with his assessment & confirmed this through a diagnostic surgery. Only surgeon to ever culture my shoulder & identified an infection along with other issues. Determined to make my shoulder "good again", Dr. Abboud performed a revision surgery after a long course of antibiotics. Happy to report that Dr. Abboud has given me a new lease on life. He alleviated my chronic pain, restored mobility, & greatly improved my quality of life. I can never adequately thank him enough. I will forever be indebted to him. Best I've felt in 15 yrs. So glad that I found Dr. Abboud, just wish it was much sooner.

I hesitated for the longest time in seeking an orthopedic surgeon because I didn't know who to go to until Dr. Abboud was recommended to me. And I am so happy for the recommendation. From my first meeting with him I felt comfortable and confident that I had made the right choice. My appointment wasn't rushed and I felt he took interest in me and my shoulder. His staff was very courteous and helpful for all the preliminaries that was needed prior to surgery. I had my right shoulder replaced and I must say that I never experienced excruciating pain once the nerve block wore off. My recovery is going very well. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon. I also need my left shoulder replaced and I'm looking forward to having that surgery once I recover from this surgery.

I had a very positive experience with Dr Abboud and his phenomenal team. Everyone is very professional, but still warm and personable. The office team as well as the surgical team were amazing. I couldn't have asked for better care, and my shoulder is healing very well--I wish I had come to Dr Abboud 2 years ago.

Dr. Abboud is the best surgeon I've ever had (81 years, have had a few). He explained everything clearly from the very first meeting, his manner was genuine and caring, his skill as a surgeon is unsurpassed, in my experience. He and his team did the surgery with great intelligence and care, he stopped in to see how I was doing after my night in the hospital, I was pain-free by the third day and didn't need more than 2 Tylenols on the second day. My PT is going splendidly, my shoulder replacement is a total success. I am so impressed with Dr. Abboud in every respect.

There aren't sufficient superlatives to describe how I feel about Dr. Abboud who is an unbelievably sensitive and caring man and highly skilled orthopedic surgeon. After he completed replacement of my left shoulder joint I naturally felt nothing. While I waited for the nerve blocker to wear off I anticipated the suffering that was about to descend upon me. It never happened and I have neither taken nor needed any pain medication. Three weeks post-op I feel terrific. In case you couldn't tell, this is an unabashed raving endorsement of Dr. Abboud. You cannot do better.

Dr. Abboud has a bedside manner that I thought no longer existed. He thoroughly explained all details about my injury as well as my surgery. I had a very painful post-op experienced & what I respect the most about him, is that he actually listened & comprehended the severity of my pain level. Many doctors a very passive & often down play patients pain. He called me back after I left an urgent message detailing how bad my pain was. He updated my pain management which immediately made my experience more tolerable. He shared that my shoulder tear required a more extensive repair once he saw it outside the MRI. He provided me with before & after photos that proved that surgery was my only option. Now I'm concentrating on healing & recovery. I have the upmost respect for Dr. Abboud as a man & a outstanding surgeon. Keep up the great work & thank you for saving my shoulder!

A very caring, kind and gentle doctor who actually took the time to know me. If I could give him 10 stars and above, I would. There are many orthopedic surgeons who seek to prolong one’s pain but doctor Abboud is certainly not one of them. If down the road my shoulder condition does not improve and I need to have surgery, Dr Abboud will be my man! Very thorough, transparent and honest in his findings and discussion with me. Was concerned about other underlying issues that could have contributed to my shoulder issue and made me aware of these. What a breath of fresh air! 3 weeks from shoulder surgery, everything going well. Good experience.

I have had two very successful shoulder replacement surgeries performed by Dr. Abboud (2018 and 2021.) Both times, the experience throughout has been exceptional. Dr. Abboud was my second opinion. Having seen two other surgeons off and on for shoulder pain in the past, after that first 2017 appt. with Dr. Abboud, I knew I was dealing with a superior surgeon, one that is update-to-date, very patient centric, very patient, easy to understand, highly skilled and extremely dedicated. While Dr. Abboud has a very busy practice, any interaction with Dr. Abboud is always focused, encourages two way communication and simply not rushed. His bio states that one of his goals is to provide personalized care and he does just that while delivering great surgical results.

Surgery was completed as outlined by Dr. Abboud, no surprises. Staff was very helpful and informative.

Am 3 weeks post op from my second shoulder replacement surgery with Dr Abboud. My experience with him and all the members of his team was truly outstanding. They are very patient oriented, taking time to fully explain my condition, the process and the entire procedure. Followups after surgery were equally outstanding. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Dr Aaboud is a magnificent doctor! Outstanding diagnostician with a warm and friendly bedside manner. Never has one foot out the door while you are trying to ask questions. Believes in letting your body take its time to fully recover. He is a great surgeon. My family has used him several times and has never been disappointed!

I visited with Dr. Abboud because I had severe shoulder pain in one of my shoulders. He performed a thorough exam and diagnosed the problem. Dr. Abboud was extremely professional and communicated the surgery process in detail with me. I had shoulder revision surgery on 1/18/22. My shoulder is still healing but hasn't felt this good in at least two plus years. As a result of the surgery I now have a much much better quality of life. Also, his staff was friendly, professional and assisted me as needed in a timely fashion. I highly recommend anyone with a shoulder problem visit with Dr. Abboud. Dr. Abboud is fabulous! After 4 months of horrible increasing pain and trying everything Dr. Abboud diagnosed me with frozen shoulder. I was scheduled that day for surgery which was conducted the next week and now less than 2 months after surgery I feel so much better. I attended physical therapy and did my stretches as directed and I’m over 90 % back to full movement!! I can’t thank Dr. Abboud enough for diagnosing and correcting my shoulder!! Went to see Dr. Abboud after a failed rotator cuff surgery done by another doctor. He did a fantastic job with the revision surgery. Saw other doctor locally who said I had a great outcome considering the severity of my injury. I would highly, highly recommend seeing Dr. Abboud. He’s a fantastic surgeon with a great manner.

Dr. Abboud is friendly and attentive. He listened to my concerns, answered my questions, and formulated a solid plan for my care. His staff is top-notch, from reception to the nurses. I was seen on time, had xrays done right in the office, and was attended to by a very nice and efficient nurse practioner leading up to my visit with Dr. Abboud. I certainly felt assured that my health and recovery are the primary concern of everyone in Dr. Abboud's practice.

Dr. Abboud was fantastic, didn't sugar coat anything with me or try to tell me that I needed to do other thing I had previously done. His entire team has been nothing but helpful along this entire process.

Dr. Abboud not only has a great bedside manner, but also an excellent skill set. I would highly recommend Dr. Abboud for any shoulders complications and can promise that you are in good hands.

I had a great experience with Dr Abboud and team. His team was able to get me in very quickly for most of my appointments and remembered me by name and who I was. It was very welcoming. Knock on wood, surgery (3 weeks post) went well and recovery has been without issues. After my surgery, the team sent me flowers which was very unexpected and sweet. I hope I don't get hurt again (!!) but would definitely go to Dr Abboud in the future.

I am extremely satisfied with my progress as a result of surgery by Dr Abboud. He gives you the time you need with any questions or comments, and clearly explains the answers during your appointments. I feel that I am in the best of hands.

Dr. Abboud and his staff are the best. I never thought that shoulder replacement surgery, post op recovery and rehab could go well with no pain and minimal discomfort. The treatment and care that I received throughout the process has been first rate!

Dr. Abboud performed surgery on my shoulder in May. He has has truly been amazing and am so lucky that he did my surgery. 8 months later I am back to doing mostly everything I could do before surgery. Usually when I talk to doctors it just sounds like they are speaking gibberish but he always talks in a way that makes sense to me, and helps me understand what was going on with my shoulder. Dr. Abboud and his team did a fantastic job on my shoulder. I am very pleased with my progress despite some obstacles. I was even sent a bouquet of Flowers ???? from the doctor which never has been done in all my other 8 surgeries so to be given fantastic service with a smile and some flowers I must say see him for any orthopedic procedures. I suffered a long 4 years from this injury from a vehicle accident and sleeping miserably for the entire time until now. Words can not express how much he has relieved me of a miserable feeling. I am so grateful to him and every visit I must say was an absolute pleasure. His assistants Brian and my favorite Tay/Ann omg I can't remember her name but she sealed the deal for me feeling very comfortable and getting this surgery over with. Positive vibes all the way with Dr. Abboud. I wanted to wait until after surgery to write this…first of all, Dr. Abboud is very professional, patient, and takes your concerns seriously. The second time I saw him, he sat with me for, I’ll guess 45 minutes discussing my impairments and possible treatments compared to the usual 5 minutes from others. Dr. Abboud laid out a plan to try and help me with a 17 year old operation from a different surgeon. No surgeons where I live would touch it. He was very confident and straight forward regarding his outlook on surgery for me and WE agreed to move forward. Dr. Abboud spoke with me before performing the surgery as well and made me feel comfortable and more confident. Shout out to his entire team at the Vincera Institute. The one nurse assigned to get me all setup and walk me through things was absolutely amazing. He was very thorough and polite. I’m 1 week post surgery and I’m so excited. Dr. Aaboud is beyond talented! He has successfully repaired both of my shoulders after major tears to rotator cuff injuries. He is pleasant, caring and efficient! I would highly recommend him to everyone!

I cannot begin to express my gratitude for the surgery performed by Dt. Abboud and his team. Everyone was so concerned and caring. I was really surprised at the very low, almost non existence of discomfort I experienced following surgery. I also was extremely impressed with the care I received from the staff on the 3rd floor. I do urge anyone with a shoulder problem to meet with Dr Abboud for an evaluation .

Dr Abboud has replaced both of my shoulders. The procedures were relatively pain free. My range of motion is excellent and I could not be more pleased with my results. He is a talented surgeon who is very empathetic and caring. I’m general, he is everything you want to see in a surgeon. I highly recommend him!!

I am so grateful for Rothman Institute and Dr. Abboud. He and his staff is wonderful. They are all nothing but friendly, respectful, personable and professional. He listens and seems to genuinely care about you as an individual person, as opposed to just another patient. He is completely honest, up-front, and supportive the whole way through. He performed what some might consider a very delicate, if not complex, revision shoulder surgery for me. I want to give thanks and praise to Dr.Abboud! I had a slip and fall on ice which resulted in injury to my left shoulder. An MRI showed a full thickness tearing of the subscapularis tendon. The first specialist that I saw said that I pretty much had to live with it, and just manage the pain with pain relievers. He said physical therapy often did more damage than good. That didn't sound like much of a plan. Next, I went to speak with a sports medicine doctor who said that I should try PT to see if strengthening could help before considering surgery. During this time I had another episode with my dog pulling on my bad shoulder. After a few months of PT, I had more range of motion, but the pain was hard to bear. I went to see one surgeon, telling him the whole story and was told that although I was "not a dinosaur", at 69 years of age I was not really a good candidate for surgery. Finally I went to see Dr.Abboud. He asked me to remove my shirt, I suppose to assess the set of my shoulders. Also, upon hearing of the subsequent episode with the dog, he ordered a follow-up MRI (which revealed additional damage). I told him that I was a very active retiree, but unable to do most of the things that I enjoyed doing. He determined that surgery was in order and set me up. I was glad to hear it. The morning of the surgery I was excited. The whole team was impressive and they took good care of me. When Dr.Abboud went in to survey the shoulder, even more damage was found than was shown in the second MRI. With 5 anchors he reattached my supraspinatus and subscapularis tendons and performed a tenodesis on my long head biceps tendon. Recovery was tough initially, but now six months out, I am recovering very nicely. I am working hard at PT both with my therapist and at home. I have climbed under the car and changed my oil. I have climbed under the kitchen sink to change the faucet. I have been able to resume yoga practice. Dr.Abboud is a great mechanic and I am not exaggerating to say that he has given me my life back! Dr Abboud took the time to explain my situation then informed me what exactly he was going to do and the recovery process would be. So far all is going well! Dr Abboud and all of his were Great. I would highly recommend his services. I had a major tear of my rotator cuff.

I had shoulder replacement surgery in September. I am ahead of my rehab. Dr Abboud and his staff are top notch. They make themselves available at all times for all concerns. As far as appointments, I never wait more than 5-7 minutes. Dr Abboud and his staff are thorough and take the time to listen to your concerns. They are very professional, but compassionate. I’ve visited with Dr. Abboud in the past and specifically sought to visit with him on my latest/current elbow challenge. I was able to get in very quickly which I especially appreciated. My consultation with him was informative and he made me feel as if he was listening astutely to my concerns and questions.
