I am an anesthesiologist, and have performed hundreds of cataract surgeries with many different ophthalmolgists. I have chosen Dr. Kierna ..n as my opthalmolgist for my upcoming cataract surgeries. .

I had an unpleasant experience with Dr. Kiernan. He did my cataract surgery. When I removed the eye patch the day after surgery I had blurry vision and many floaters. I had an appt. with Dr. Donlea, a partner in the practice. He told me I had a swollen retenia. I asked about the floaters, he said they would settle down.They never did. Six weeks later I still had floaters. Dr. Kiernan was going to laser my eye to try and remove the floaters. My vision was blurry and filled with debris. I didn't see well. This was a simple cataract operation that seemed to go wrong but nobody would address it. I got the brush from Premier Eye Care. I eventually went to another eye doctor who sent me to a retina specialist. The specialist preformed a vitectomy. I eventually had to have the original cataract lens replaced. I feel that Premier Eye Care and especially Dr. Kiernan handled this very poorly. Do not use this this doctor. You will get no satisfaction or answers if anything goes wrong. I found him to be caring, professional and very thorough.

NOT RECOMMENDED!!! Joseph Kiernan, M.D., is 68 years old and should not be in practice. I'm a healthcare professional and can sense when a doctor is failing. Unfortunately Dr. Kiernan, is at that point . After not seeing him for an office exam in 2 years, I was shocked. Dr. Kiernan now lacks the ability to focus and diagnosis patients conditions correctly. So sad to see this. I would recommend, Dr. Kiernan retire to protect everyone's health and well being

2:15 appointment booked 2 months in advance and Dr Kiernan did not see me till 4:20, then since I was unhappy about waiting he basically refused to see me and said he doesn't normally see young people, I'm 38, so he referred me to another Doctor. Dr. Kiernan is an amazing doctor and ophthalmic surgeon. He performed a complex cataract surgery on my mom without any complications. I trust him completely and deeply respect his professionalism and caring attitude. THANK YOU!
