Dr. Joe did both my hips and he is the best. Excellent surgeon.

Horrible! Dr. McGraw was so arrogant! To start off with, he walked in on me while I was still in my underwear trying to put on the shorts they gave me. He did not knock and he then did not back out to allow me to finish putting the shorts on making it very awkward. I brought results from a recent MRI and he told me he didn’t need to look at the MRI that it was worthless and I wasted $1000 on it. He told me he only needed to see his x-rays. He told me I had osteoarthritis which I do not, he said there is nothing he can do for me other than an injection which I just had two weeks prior from my primary care. He basically told me I’m going to have to suffer with my knee until it is bone and bone and then get a knee replacement. He was very condescending and I left there in tears and cried all the way home. He is an awful doctor/man and I can’t believe he works there, where he is supposed to do no harm and take care of his patients. Going for a second opinion. I hope to never see him again.

On time, kind, professional, informative

Dr. McGraw spent lots of time reviewing my history and X-rays. He addressed all my questions and concerns.

At each visit Dr McGraw is patient & thorough, going over the info in a way the average person can easily understand. I appreciate him

Dr. Joe McGraw is awesome he did a tremendous job on both my knee and hip replacements! I will not go to anyone else for my joint problems other than Dr. McGraw! 5 stars all the way!

Timely, Dr and CMA were articulate and informative. At visit I was provided with alternatives before considering surgery. I left feeling privileged to have De McGraw for his friendliness and expertise.

Dr McGraw explains completely my concern and what I need to do to correct it. My hip replacement is the best thing I did for my long term health relieved back pain allows me to walk long distances without any problems

Dr. McGraw was thorough and polite. I have the upmost faith in his abilities as I now get my left knee replaced.

Today was my 6 week follow up on right knee replacement with overview on my recent left knee replacement The replacements are successful and much appreciated especially because I work construction. I ve always been treated with kindness and care from the X-ray technicians, nurse, PA and of course Dr Mcgraw. Not that I want to ever do both knees again, I would call Dr McGraw first thank you Dr McGraw and his professional support team

Knee pain issues. X rays showed the level of the problem and the doctor asked all the right questions and described my short and long term options.

The whole process was very organized. Even at first impression I was impressed. Even though I have to go through the healing/pain process, Dr. McGraw did a fine job. Thank you! All the staff did a fine job!

I love this doc. He is making my life better every visit. Great hands. No BS. Great outcomes!

Personable and pleasant staff. Office and restrooms are always clean. Dr. McGraw has done two surgeries for me already and I am back for a third one, a knee this time. I have all the confidence in the world in his skill.

He started off complimenting himself and it went downhill from there. When someone has to say he's the best, it's the first flag to look elsewhere for someone who doesn't have to brag. Here's hoping he moves to someplace where arrogance is appreciated more than in our small town.

Laughed and agreed with the review that this doctor must be paying family to get so many good reviews. My encounter with him was completely unsatisfactory. Late, arrogant, rude. There's no excuse for this kind of person practicing medicine.

I read the other negative reviews prior to writing my own. I'm ignoring the positive reviews because my experience was so awful that regardless of whatever alleged talent he may have, there is no possible way I'll ever work with him. So I looked at the negative reviews and the pattern is obvious: Terms like "god complex" and "arrogance" fit my experience as well. I'm disappointed I was ever referred to him and wasted my time. There are excellent surgeons who don't have to wear their ego on their chest. And it's interesting that after having my appointment, I sought out a few other opinions from both physicians and people having the surgery I'm contemplating. I should have done that before seeing McGraw. They confirmed what I experienced. Yes, we want "the best" to work on us, but when they walk around feeling compelled to tell you they're the best, something is intrinsically wrong. Thank you to others for confirming my experience.

It's tough to grasp why there are any positive reviews on this site other than if McGraw is paying family to provide them. He ranks with only one other physician I've ever met for arrogance and condescension. After my appointment with McGraw and in checking with others, my impression of him was confirmed. I did not have a needed procedure with him strictly because of his bedside manner. And I refuse to believe any talent set is unique when you have to endure this kind of behavior. Look around. There are excellent physicians without a god complex. I found one on his same staff.

I am 58, a r.n. myself, and I give this dr., and his nurse 5 stars. The way he does the procedure is flawless. I went home in 4 hours after my first total hip, and in 3 hours after my second total hip. Of course they were 2 months apart. No complications, and they treated me very well, a very knowledgeable and professional group!

I had a total knee replacement in October, 2020. Dr McGraw does hundreds of these procedures annually & it shows. He was very professional & I am thrilled with the results. Three months later, I am walking 2 miles a day with no pain & no limp. What a difference it has made!

This guy was a flat-out jerk. He demanded to know why I didn't see him before another physician because he described himself as "the best." He refused to consult with me until I provided an answer to his pettiness. Then he contradicted the previous physician in every way possible. The end result? I delayed treatment, suffered serious pain for a lengthy time, then with a third physician, found out that the first was correct and McGraw couldn't have been further off. Why there are any positive reviews on here is beyond me. His "bedside manner" was horrific. His arrogance overwhelming. His failures complete. Can't give this jerk a lower review. And from interactions with others I know who've seen him, their outcomes have been marginal. The doc I eventually saw achieved a great outcome with my condition. Avoid this guy!

I waited 1.75 hours to see Dr. McGraw; 2 hours total as I arrived 15 minutes early expecting to have paperwork or tests. There was no paperwork, tests or x-rays. So I sat for 2 hours. Now I get it, some days in a doctor's office can be like that, which is why I sat through a 2-hour wait. However, when I started to express my displeasure for the wait, he interrupted me with attitude, arrogance and aggression instead apology, typical of some who bully and intimidate as a way to shut down a conversation. By that point, he was in a hurry and I was angry and shaken. He seemed competent but blunt and disinterested in me and my health. I forgot a lot of what I wanted to ask and left with more questions than answers. I will be searching for a different surgeon. From another reviewer here, who described similar arrogance when Dr. McGraw erred, I expect if my surgery had gone poorly, I'd get that defensive arrogance again. A physician cannot truly heal without respect and caring.

Dr McGraw did a knee replacement for me and it was great from that first day.... Several friends had recommended him to me and am so glad they did.

Dr McGraw did a total hip replacement on my left hip March 5 2020. He did a wonderful job , I would recommend Dr McGraw to anyone for surgery .

I cannot give Dr McGraw a good recommendation. He did a replacement on both of my knees. The second one did not go well and I discovered how arrogant and disrespectful he is. When the pain kept getting worse after 6 months he refused to take any steps to see why. He said I was just going to “open up a can of worms”. Didn’t think there would be an infection and that it was not that bad. He actually told me to “use a cane”! After seeing him many times and leaving in tears, I had to see a different doctor for a second opinion. I found out the implant had loosened and was moving around causing pain. I guess he’s a good surgeon as long as everything goes well. His bedside manner is awful!

I’ve had two hips replaced by Dr McGraw and couldn’t be happier with the results!

Dr McGraw did a total knee replacement on my knee 4 months ago. The whole process couldn't have gone any better. Excellent recovery and return to function. Pain well managed. I wouldn't see anyone else.

I had a total knee replacement in April of 2016. Now I am going to have to have the other one done...there was a small incision and I walked out the next day with little pain...granted there was some pain in the coming days, but I was back to work in 5 weeks. I would with out a doubt recommend Dr. McGraw to every one..

Dr McGraw did a total hip replacement on my left hip December 10, 2015 . He did a wonderful job , I left the hospital 31 hours after surgery feeling better than I thought I would , it has been 10 months since my surgery and with physical therapy I am almost back to normal . I would recommend dr McGraw to anyone for surgery .
