The staff was friendly and professional! Dr. Jaakkola did a great job of informing me of my injury and an xray was taken. He recommended a catscan to find the problem. This is my first time using Dr. Jaakkola. I would recommend him for problems with the ankle. Great job!!

The whole staff was great. From checking in to follow through. Dr. Jaakkola was very professional and friendly. He instilled a lot of confidence and made me feel comfortable talking with him. He explained what was going on with my ankle and gave me different options for treatment. He suggested the least invasive approach to see if we could go that route. I was very happy with the whole experience. Will be going back to him if needed

Specifically ref to dr J. by another physician who has never actually met him. Appt at 9:45. Physician left clinic for “another place he had to be” at 11:00. Never introduced himself even though he walked by my room sev times. No one explained my visit was w the PA and not a first encounter visit w dr as scheduled. Dr J showed lack of respect and professionalism towards pt scheduled for first encounter visit. Wait time 9:45 til noon. This review is specific to dr j. I have to confirm below I was treated by this physician but he never came to my room to even introduce himself.

I would recommend Dr.J to anyone who wants to feel at ease and informed. He answered all my questions with very precise answers and he was very easy to understand.

Dr. Jaakkola and Bill Phillips are wonderful, however, the wait was almost 50 minutes in the Savannah office. Would have been nice if they could keep you informed of the wait. The receptionists up front didn't seem too happy to work there at all.

Patient,compassionate and thorough. Does not push surgeries unless absolutely needed. However ,if needed, he is an excellent surgeon.

My visit was from my surgery of 5/2/22. All is well with my foot. Dr Jaakkola is a very good surgeon who take pride in his work and I trust him in providing good care for me.

I saw Dr. Jaakkola because I had injured my foot by stepping on one of my grandson’s toys. It bruised out of proportion to what I thought the injury was and took over a month to heal. At that point I felt that my foot may not be quite right. Dr. Jaakkola quickly identified the problem, a pinched nerve in my foot a bit away from the original injury. He proposed the appropriate treatment and gave me confidence that he was knowledgeable in this area. This was my first visit and I wasn't disappointed. The complete staff, from the moment I walked in until I checked out we're wonderful. Dr. Jaakkola was genuinely kind and took the time to listen to my issues, then gave me feed back that I understood. He gave me a plan of action that I'm pleased with. My visit at Optim Orthopedic with Dr. Juha I Jaakkola was very informative. He went step by step in letting me know what the findings were and showed me the x-ray of my foot. I felt comfortable with his findings and my treatment to remedy the pain. The staff members were friendly and attentive to the patients.

My visit was very productive. The Dr answered all my questions and made me feel completely at ease.

The most unprofessional and unsympathetic staff and worst experience of my life dealing with medical staff. After countless visits and time off work, I was scheduled for surgery on a Monday. Durning my pre surgery blood work on Friday I was given FALSE information which I state was FALSE so I requested to redo blood work. I was not taken seriously and out on the back burner. The staff or surgeon NEVER called back, it took the office until Monday to call letting know I was right and they never apologized for the inconvenience. I had already taken a week off work and countless days to get set up for surgery. They couldn’t even reschedule my surgery until several weeks after my original date and never offered to help move it up when it was THEIR MISTAKE. Dr Jaakkola is a most competent orthopedic. Not only was he very thorough in his diagnosis; he also gave three steroid shorts in joints of my toes with an absolute minimum of discomfort. Friends of mine advised against the injections because the were to to cause excruciating pain. Not true,! I walked in on crutches and the next day I walked without pain. A most efficient and helpful visit as always Dr Jaakkola treats the arthritis in my feet wonderfully: I am pain free after the painless and kind treatments This time the pain in my foot was again intens but different and Dr Jaakkola diagnosed a problem I had never heard of (Morton’s Neuroma), and one injection later - that was applied painlessly and very kindly - I walked out of his office pain free I feel most privileged that I can rely on Dr Jaakkola to treat my troublesome feet

Very friendly! Was anxious about having anyone touch my broken ankle, but the nurse and the doctor were both very gentle and it didn’t hurt one bit to change the cast. He is getting my surgery scheduled right away, which I appreciate! My only recommendation I would have would be to reconsider the bathroom doors. They are extremely heavy and hard to open. I had to wait until someone else came by to ask then to open it for me since I was on crutches. Couldn’t hold the door open and get through it at the same time.

First visit was a good one…except X-ray!! Had to be done 3 times and I had to walk on the cold dirt floor(everyone walks in with their shoe on from outside) I DID NOT LIKE THAT AT ALL!! And then 3 times!!! WOW(first)

Dr. Jaakkola is very professional, caring and ready to find answers. He took time to answer all of my many questions and concerns, then diagnose the problem, spot on. I will always visit him for any of my foot problems. I like too that he is willing to consult other physicians when he finds something that he has questions about. To me, that is priceless. Why let a patient suffer more when you can consult another physician and then collaborate together to get an answer.

After a surgery to remove bone spurs in my toe almost a year ago I still had a lot of pain in my foot. Not necessarily in the toe that had surgery but more in the middle and side. After an x-ray and conversation with Dr. Jaakkola he immediately explained where he thought the problem was and that cortisone injections (and of course different shoes) would help. I was pretty nervous to get injections in my foot again after I had an extremely painful experience in 2018. To my surprise he numbed the 2 areas so well that I did not even feel a thing. One day after the injections I can say that I have no pain at all in my foot! Maybe high heels are in my future again!

Good experience as always. I could barely walk with the pain in my left foot, but Dr.Jaakkola diagnosis was spot on. He Explained the situation in detail and administered a shot of Cortizone for the pain. He also recommended a certain type of shoe and some other supports That could possibly help my problem. I highly recommend Him.
