Dr. Kara Alina May Mcelligott

I've had two appts w/ this doctor at the Durham VA Med Center. One was to discuss surgical options for hysterectomy in Oct 2019 & the other was Feb 2021 to discuss some menopause issue. I'm satisfied with the info/feedback I was given by her.

Wonderful! Dr McElligott is very professional and a very good communicator. She’s extremely knowledgeable and I am impressed with her care. I saw her at the Durham VA hospital in the Women’s Clinic. We Veterans are very fortunate to have her.

She was the attending instructing a student performing a D@E related to pregnancy loss at Duke clinic 1J. The procedure was not properly done and patient experienced extreme pain. No one stopped the procedure or addressed patients pain. I suggest choosing another location to have this procedure done. There should be no pain if done properly
