I would give kathy huang a negative if it was an option. This Dr. Is a used car sale spy. She is only concerned with the sale. She has no follow up . Her patients welfare does not interest. Stay away at all costs. Don’t be fooled by her first impression.

Dr. Huang and her medical staff were the best team I have encountered!! They went above and beyond to deliver me exceptional treatment and care. Her bedside manner was warm, welcoming, and professional. All of my concerns were respected and addressed. Dr. Huang walked me through every step clearly and made everything understandable. I was skeptical about having such an invasive procedure at a surgery center vs a hospital, but her facility proved clean and safe! As a Friday surgery, Dr. Huang went out of her way to check on me throughout the weekend to ensure I was doing well; and answered any questions my husband and I had. Dr. Huang is personable and kind and basically a breast genius. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anybody looking to have a breast procedure (and, in fact, I have). I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Huang and the staff at PSIW, but I'll list a few. The long and short of it is: GO SEE DR. HUANG. 1. Ease of scheduling. I was able to book a breast augmentation consultation within a week of calling. I was scheduled for a Monday and was told that there was a chance I could even have surgery later the same week of my consult. I called the Friday before and the patient care coordinator, Megan, made it happen. She went and talked to Dr. Huang and the surgery team and we scheduled a follow-up consult for that Tuesday to select implants, scheduled surgery, scheduled all the follow-ups, booked a COVID test, and went over all pre-care instructions. 2. Dr. Huang's candor. Dr. Huang is straightforward and honest. She was willing to let me select most things about my surgery (from the implant size and profile to the type of post-op painkiller she prescribed me) but the things she was unwilling to compromise on (e.g., using different size implants) she was entirely correct about. She explained what my choices meant and was supportive of them. A friend accompanied me and was very impressed by Dr. Huang's demeanor and said that she was the most down-to-earth plastic surgeon my friend had encountered (having just done research across multiple states for a facial procedure). 3. The facility. I absolutely loved having surgery in a private facility. It was way less stressful than a hospital setting and I felt like everybody was on the same page and there were no surprises. 4. The price. The price I paid was very reasonable and in line with other surgeons in the area (who are less accomplished). I honestly would have paid twice what I did to achieve these results and I wouldn't have batted an eye. 5. The results. I love my results and am so happy I went through with it. The doctors at PSIW truly have the best outcomes in the DMV. 6. The staff. From reception to the entire surgical team - I cannot say enough good things about everyone at PSIW. Coming in to the consultation I was very unsure about getting a tummy tuck due to my fear of a huge scar. Dr Huang was very honest and explained every possible outcome. I trusted her words and her experience and the results were AMAZING. I’ve gotten compliments on it from everyone that’s seen it, including my OBGYN.

Dr. Huang did an excellent job! The results are incredible! I am very grateful to her team. Simply wow! Dr. Huang is an excellent and incredible surgeon. She and her staff are very friendly and professional. Dr. Huang truly cares about the health and well-being of her patients. For instance, she takes time to listen, help you understand your health, and the best option for you. Dr. Huang practices "personalized medicine." I was scared to go and see her, but everyone made me feel at home when I walked in. She made the experience less stressful, and more positive. Impressive upon meeting. She is uncaring and is in and out of room on follow up.- if you have complications after surgery. Your in real trouble, she’s not available. She doesn’t listen. Another Dr. had to insist she look at the problem from the surgery. Cares about the sale. No empathy or caring. I would not give any stars if this was an option

Diagnosed with Stage 0 Breast Cancer earlier this year, I elected to have a Bilateral Breast Reduction at the same time as the Lumpectomy. My Sibley Hospital Johns Hopkins Breast Surgeon recommended Dr Kathy Huang to operate simultaneously with her. Because the breast was going to be reduced, my surgeon was able to take a wider margin than normal for the Lumpectomy, and unfortunately, another cancer, this one Stage 1, was found in the material removed. Nevertheless, Dr Huang did a fantastic job, reducing unwieldy 42DDDs to neat, perky 38Cs. She opted to leave the unaffected breast 10% smaller than the cancer breast because after Radiation, the cancer breast would shrink, and that way they will be the same size, which is perfect. Dr Huang is a no-nonsense perfectionist, who simply gets it done. I would recommend that anyone with large breasts who is faced with the devastating diagnoses of Breast Cancer have a reduction at the same time. It is hard to consider all your options when you are told you have cancer, but this is an opportune time to have the reduction if you'd ever considered it before. First of all, insurance is likely to cover it as the Lumpectomy breast will be smaller after the procedure, and no one wants that lopsided look, and secondly, I am convinced that the second cancer may not have been found if I hadn't had the reduction. Probably not the case for everyone, but I feel very lucky. I couldn't be happier with my surgery or my surgeon, and would recommend Dr Kathy Huang to anyone needing this procedure. Not enough praise is made for the reduction surgery, vs the enhancement surgery, but I cannot tell you how pleased I am that I had it done! Dr Huang is awesome- she squeezed me in for surgery following an accident, and I am so glad my doctor recommended her. She is bright, compassionate and really a pro- I highly recommend her! She did a great job, and the staff at the office are all lovely!

Dr. Huang is an outstanding surgeon with an excellent and personable manner. She is patient, available, and can explain the surgical procedure in layman's terms. The outcome of my procedure was beyond my expectations. Her staff are also extremely responsive and attentive. An outstanding experience. I would send my Mom to Dr. Huang.

Dr. Huang was recommended by my internist, who plans a procedure for herself. Not knowing exactly what to look for other than reputation and my comfort level, I took great solace in my doctor’s recommendation. Dr. Huang was professional, friendly and provided great details concerning the surgery, along with pictures. The surgery went as expected and she was at the hospital early the next morning to approve my release. Each follow-up visit to her office was timely and the entire staff was warm

Dr. Huang insisted on trying to give me Dilaudid for post-op pain; I asked for Vicodin and explained that I didn't want strong opiate medication because I had a family history of addiction, and a personal history of drug abuse. The morning after my surgery, I woke up to Dr. Huang saying "SO, I see you decided to it was a good idea to take pain meds after all". For 2 post-op appointments following surgery for breast cancer, Dr. Huang came in looked at me said "looks great" walked out - less than 30 seconds in the room - barely made eye contact; never asked if I had any questions. Never asked how I was feeling, or if my pain was being controlled. Clearly in practice just for the money; complete lack of care or concern for patients. Standard procedure for tissue expander is to fill them slowly; she had said this would be done in stages, when I had the drain pulled, she told the nurse to FULLY INJECT the expander, all at once, without informing me of the change in plans, and without explaining why it was being done. Cancelled her participation with Blue Cross Blue Shield, and her office informed me by telling me I had to move the date of my final reconstruction, or get someone else to do it - no empathy, no apology, no referral to another surgeon. Horrible interpersonal skills. I truly can’t say enough about my wonderful experience with Dr. Kathy Huang and Plastic Surgery Institute of Washington. My consult with Dr. Huang was my third surgeon I went to consult with regarding abdominoplasty and my last. Plastic Surgery Institute of Washington is extremely professional and honest. Dr. Huang completed the most thorough consultation and was so informative. I truly appreciated her honesty; she gave me realistic expectations (she surpassed my expectations).

May be a good surgeon, but lacks compassion & empathy. She wanted to prescribe the strongest opioid pain meds for after the surgery for breast CA. I requested the least powerful meds because I had a family history of addiction and a personal history of drug use and addiction (though it was 30 years ago). The first thing she said to me in the hospital, the morning after my surgery, was "So, I see you decided to use pain meds after all" in a mocking tone of voice. Never asked how I was feeling.
