Checked in here this morning (3/30/2022) and was not too fond about getting my first root canal (along with the possibility of severe weather ????)! From the time I signed in until the time I left, I was thoroughly pleased with the courteousness and professionalism from Dr. Cole Riley and Leslie and the office staff. Leslie was very kind and compassionate as she explained what Dr. Riley would consult with me about concerning the procedure. She hooked me up with some headphones and music and covered me with a warm and cozy blanket. She was there the entire time it took to complete the procedure. Dr. Riley, what can I say - is one of the most professional and courteous dental specialists I have been to (even though I’ve only been to dentists and an orthodontist). Before finding out that I had to have a root canal, I had never heard of an Endodontist. So, yes I was a little nervous for a few hours last week when I found out that I was being referred to Lake Area Endodontics-Root Canal Specialists. But this morning, with Dr. Riley’s in-depth consultation, explaining step by step what he was going to do, the possible outcomes and success rates of root canals, I knew my tooth was in good hands. I just laid back and let him and Leslie do their magic! Throughout the procedure there were several times he explained what he was doing and why, etc. But I felt nothing-numbed up pretty darn good ???? When Dr. Riley finished the root canal procedure he explained post-treatment care in detail and answered questions that I had. I will have to commend him and Leslie for their caring demeanor as they could tell I was a little nervous even though I had complete confidence knowing they are the professionals in their expertise. So far, I’m only experiencing the soreness around the gums; no pain like the awful toothache I had been having!! Bridget called me this morning (3/31/2022) to check to see how I was doing. I had a few questions in which she answered, and told me to contact them if I needed anything or encountered any problems. The wonderful staff at Dr. Park's office was kind enough to fit me in when I was in a great deal of pain. Dr. Park came in right away and was fast and efficient in diagnosing my problem. He laid out the possible solutions, taking time to show me on the x-ray the source of the problem and pros/cons of each choice of treatment. I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Visit was pleasant. Staff is very friendly & accommodating. Dr. Parks is a fine doctor!

Really friendly front office staff. The endodontist and his assistant were very nice, comforting, knowledgeable, caring and keep you in the loop explained everything to me.

As someone who is never happy to be at an dentist. I was always looking for someone who the minute you walk in made you feel cared for ! And someone you could just trust. The entire staff makes you feel that way. And the rooms are so dis arming really attention to detail and caring ! Dr Riley was amazing with me. Thank you ????

I enjoyed my visit to this establishment, friendly staff who specialize in making a patient comfortable. They're professional enough to get to the root of the problem.

Dr. Riley and his team helped eliminate the stigma that root canals are a terrible and painful procedure that no one would wish on their worst enemy. This was hands-down one of the most pleasant dental procedures I've experienced, and I am 100% terrified of dentists and their minions. Dr. Cole Riley was highly recommended to me by family who have seen him. My general dentist got me in to see him the following day. He diagnosed that I needed a root canal and I was on the schedule right away. During the root canal I didn’t feel a thing not even the shots in the beginning. Dr. Cole Riley came highly recommended by 3 family members who are all also dentists. They said he was the best in the region so I confidently asked for a referral to him. He is definitely a skilled and affable Doctor and I highly recommend him to everyone. He quickly got me on the schedule, diagnosed the problem, and did a root canal. Everything was painless. Dr. Riley and his assistant Leslie were super easy going and fun to be around. The procedure was smooth and fast. My general dentist was impressed with his work also. I was treated very well. I was examined and Dr. Parks gave me options on what to do with tooth #18. The nurses were very nice and I was treated with respect.

Dr. Cole Riley and his assistant, Kaitlin are a first class team. Very nice people. Dr Riley assisted by Kaitlyn did an excellent job with my root canal. Turned out that we are both musicians and we know many of the same people. I VERY HIGHLY recommend Dr Riley for his knowledge and excellent work! I called on a Monday due to a major tooth pain. I was lucky enough to be seen on a Tuesday and a Root Canal done on Wednesday of same week. I realize this may not be the case for everyone, I just am so glad they got me in as quickly as they did. Dr. Parks and his entire team are extremely nice and considerate of your feelings and or anxiousness of the dentists. I had been to see him one before about 10 years ago and felt right at ease of him then also. He explains everything as he is working on you, the prognosis of the tooth surviving, and very sure to go over every detail (including treatment after procedure has been done). I had a really bad tooth that needed a root canal, and he did an excellent job and was very curtious.

Unfortunately I've been a long time customer of Dr. Parks :) Everything has always been exceptional. For more than 20 years I keep returning to Dr. Parks for his outstanding service. Even now, I live in Austin, TX with no shortage of Endodontic Specialist. And, I admit I've had a few consultations other than Dr. Parks, but I continue to return from Austin to Lake Charles. I feel most comfortable under his care. In addition, their is a new associated Dr. on staff occasionally with Dr. Parks. His new associate appears to have the exactly same conservative approach. I was referred to Dr. Parks by a local dentist when I cracked a molar in half. I was very concerned because I was needing bridge work and was going to use that tooth. Although Dr. Parks was optimistic he did let me know up front that there may be a chance that he could not save the tooth. After a couple hours in the chair and listening to him and his assistant I realized that this was his passion and not just a job. The respect level in his office was amazing. The staff was on point with everything. After it was all said and done Dr. Parks was able to save the tooth and I have since returned to my local dentist for complete bridge work. As a real patient of Dr. Parks (two root canal treatments), I was shocked by the bad reviews I read on this post about him, because what they supposedly say about him is completely opposite of what my excellent experience at his dental office has been. Dr. Parks is an absolutely clean and extremely professional dentist, who takes the time and courtesy to explain in detail what's going on and (in advance) indicate what the probability of success for the proposed treatment is. First, this guys breath smells like he has been eating a diet consisting solely of cat litter. I'm not sure what the deal is with that. The user review below is also correct, his fingers are so BIG, just one finger in my mouth and I was gagging. Steer clear of Kenneth Parks.

This has got to be the worst dentist on the planet. His hands smelled like cat urine. When they are placed near and inside of your mouth you will want to vomit. He also appears to be dead by the lack of color of his skin and expression on his face. ALL of his equipment seems antiquated and super out of date, I felt like his set up was what one would encounter in medieval times. My experience with Dr. Parks was great. It's very comforting to know that he specializes in endodontics as opposed to most other dentists in the Lake Area who attempt to do a little bit of everything, but specialize in nothing. I am definitely no Endodontis, so I find it difficult to speak on tools of which I know very little (another review), but the tools he used served their purpose. Dr. Parks has always been very pleasant to talk to and he goes out of his way to play with my young daughter who can sometimes be shy around unfamiliar men. I will end by saying that Dr. Parks' staff were all very professional and accommodating. My experience with Dr. Parks was great. This was the most pleasant experience I have had at a dentist's office.The staff was very polite and professional, and made sure I felt comfortable and at ease in the dental chair. Dr. Parks explained everything very well and was very thorough with his exam and treatment. I get very apprehensive when going to the dentist and Dr. Parks and his assistants did everything necessary to make sure I had a good experience.
