always been good for me. i went to him for 33 years . could not find a better dc.

I honestly wouldn't give a star if I had the choice. Last year I came to this doctor because he had treated me a couple of times. I came to him with a chest complaint I told him the pain was a six standing and off the charts when I laid back. He had me push against his arms and then told me to take asprin and come back in a week if the pain didn't subside. I never went back. I went to a different doctor and he found what was wrong with me. I had two embolisms in my right lung. Doctors told me had I listened to the original diagnosis I would have died. I now have a portion of my lung that is dead from the two blood clots that were there. I feel he saw a young women and thought I shouldn't have things wrong with me. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a good rating. Seeing the doctor for a couple years for traditional things went pretty smooth. Then, A few years ago I had a terrible Softball accident: Witnesses said I was struck by another player, flew into the air, and landed on top of my head. I told and described this to Dr. Tomchik many times, and even drew it out on paper. He continued to prescribe pain medication, Vicodin I believe, instead of having an MRI. even though I had asked for him to do so. He then had me do physical therapy. The physical therapist did not want me doing physical therapy due to the severe pain she could see, as well as my lack of ability to move my neck. She called him and recommended an MRI. He still refused. I was in excruciating pain in my neck, and my life functions were drastically reduced to almost nothing. I went to a chiropractor , Who took ex-rays & immediately sent me for an MRI without working on me. Immediately I was referred to a spine specialist, and within days I was in surgery. The chiropractor and the surgeon were unable to comprehend how this doctor refused to do an MRI. Just be cautious. I really really liked Dr. Tomchik for many years, but because of his negligence on this, my life was forever changed. Unfortunately I am unable to provide a good rating. I have seen Dr. Tomchik for the past ten years. He has been instrumental in the management of my diabetes.

I have had quite a few Primary care Docs over the years. I've been seeing Dr. Tomchick for the past 10 years. He is by far the best I have had. Easy going and thorough. He has really helped me manage my diabetes. I like that he frequently mentors medical students in his practice. And the staff is also awesome! A+

NEVER - WASTE OF TIME. HE SPENT TIME EXPLAINING THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A CHILD'S DOCTOR AND AN ADULT'S DOCTOR.

My GP for 25 years. Sharp, concise. A few years back, I got an infection that was not diagnosed by 5 doctors at Good Shepard during an overnight stay. Dr. Tomchik diagnosed it the next day in 30 seconds.

Treating me for over twenty years, Great MD. Especially like the fact that he is not pill happy. Provides treatment options other than pharma.

Seems to lack medical info other than typical ailments. General inability to actually communicate or be part of a treatment team; not a team player. Seems egotistical and arrogant. Does not do well with patients that have knowledge of their own body and condition. He talks down to his patients. Seems to expect a level of respect simply because he has the prefix of Doctor despite the fact that he hasn't earned it. He is unable to resolve conflicts with patients. Complete opposite of his staff.

My grandmother was a patient of Dr. Tomchik. She was in the hospital for heart failure. We had some questions to ask him, and he told us to hurry up, that he had to go. He was in the room for not even 4 minutes. We were not satisfied with the care that he "provided". We ended but switching doctors. She was upset and so was our family that he did not seem to care about her health. We seemed to inconvenience him. There are many other doctors out there that would be a better option.
