I have a been a patient of Dr. Varley for many years now... I have had four back surgeries over the years, and Dr. Varley, Chris, and everyone in his office, are the most caring, professional, and personable staff I have EVER seen!! He has helped me tremendously!! I highly recommend them!

As usual, all of Dr. Varley's staff were wonderful! Dr. Varley, himself, is always great, and he always tries his best to take care of my pain problems. He is very caring. I am an outgoing person, and I enjoy interacting with him and his staff.

The staff is great and they give great care to your health.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Especially appreciated the singing nurse. She really made my day.

I love Dr Varley and all of his staff members. I am treated with courtesy and respect. I have nothing but good things to say about all of them! Dr Varley is very thorough and attentive. Dr. Varley and his staff are awesome. Dr. Varley goes out of his way to evaluate and educate his patients about what to expect from a procedure. He also talks to you like an old friend. He really, really cares.

I’ve been seeing Dr Varley for about 15-20 years. We first started seeing when we lived in Mobile, AL. A had a really bad experience with a pain specialist in Mobile and was very reluctant to call another. Seeing the condition I was in, he said I should try this doctor in Birmingham. I was at a point that I would try him on my friend’s recommendation. One on the best decisions I’ve ever made. We drove to Birmingham when needed from then o until we moved to West Point AL, a bit closer. I have been to him when the pain was so bad that I couldn’t stand up straight and came out feeling like I could dance, (if I wasn’t a Baptist). I don’t think there is anyone else like him. All of his staff are the same way. They treat me, and my wife who is now also seeing Dr Varley, like family or friends with great care and concern for us and I can only imagine the rest of his patients also. I hope he outlives us! I have been using Dr Varley for about 3 years now for chronic neck pain to avoid surgery. He does a phenomenal job pin pointing my area that is most painful. Most insurances are covered including workmen’s comp. Staff is always warm and friendly unlike some of the pain clinics around that think all you are there for is medication. Definitely 5 stars. Once again, Dr Varley was amazing!! Checked on me before planned procedure and due to new neuropathy pain we changed direction and moved the original plan out a couple weeks. The only complaint I would have is that the scheduling staff does not reserve the 7-7:30 for their diabetic patients anymore. It’s getting harder bd harder to get early shots and manage my sugar. Having to drink some orange juice or get sugar tabs or juice as sugar drops. Wish they would go back to reserving the first few time slots for those people with medical issues that interfere with them waiting till later in the day. Other then that they are amazing! Thank God for Doctor Varley. I had cancer 15 years ago in my hips bones, tail bone and 1/2 of the way up my back bone.Cancer returned 4 1/2 years later and i had a Bone Marrow Transplant.I had neuropathy that was a level 10 pain in my feet that felt like my feet we're on fire. . My hips bones, tail bone and back bone was a level 10 pain, they measure pain from 1 being the least pain to a level 10 being the worst pain. From my waist to my toes felt like i was on fire.The pain was so bad that i could not think straight and stayed in the bed most of the time. Dr Varley started working with me and honest to god i would lay down on his treatment table with the worst pain anyone could have and he preformed targeted therapy on me and i would get up off the table with a level 2 pain.Before i found Dr.Varley i had no life, now i have tolerable pain most of the time. I now have pain i can manage.It is not a great life some days i still have terrible pain but a lot of days i have from level 1 to level 3 pain of which i never had before i started seeing Dr. Varley. The staff is Always so professional and friendly, from reception, to the lab, to the exam. I cannot say enough good things about this place. I would not be walking today I’m convinced of that.

I've been coming to Dr Varley for over 10 years now and have to say the staff is top notch! Highly recommend him and his staff to get you back up and going with less pain!!

Dr varley is very detailed and takes the time to tell you what is going on even if it puts him behind.

I have amazing experiencs due to Dr. Varley's extremely high level of skills in doing interventional Injections in my spine. Prior to consulting him, my pain level was constantly at a 8-9 on the pain scale. I could hardly function. He has given me a much higher quality of life than I would likely have had before his treatments. I highly recommend Dr. Varley for anyone who experiences chronic pain. He is highly skilled physician! He is also a very kind person who wants to help patients achieve a better quality of life. I have reviewed this practice around a year ago & I don’t have much more to say except that Dr. Varley & his staff are as good as it gets in my humble opinion. He cares a heck of a lot more than many others out there His staff is very nice & caring as well. So there’s my 2 cents worth. My experience with Dr varley's office was very good in a timely manner . The staff that I was associated with were all very nice and considerate listen to my problems I would very well satisfied with everyone all the way from the front desk thank you all for your help .

If you are looking for a caring, compassionate doctor for pain management.. look no further. Dr. Varley and his entire staff are great. He has treated all types of pain for me personally, and he does a great job of finding where the pain is coming from. Once he locates the source (or pain generator) he can treat it. Once he treats it I get sustained relief for a while, depending on what type of procedure I get. Southern pain specialist have really helped me get some of my life back. I couldn’t recommend him any more highly. Each patient is different with different needs and we get treated as individuals. No two patients get the same treatment plan, but everyone gets treated like a real person who has pain and just needs help. I’ve never had a doctor that cares so deeply for his patients, and wants to see them free from this debilitating chronic pain, living life again, and not just existing. He will change your life! Dr. Varley was recommended to me by UAB Neuology.He is a wonderful physician!

Dr Varley takes time to explain everything. The process he uses seems slow to me but it works. I have seen improvement, a little at a time, but improvement each visit.

Dr. Varley really cares about his patients. I love the staff.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. V’s for 10 years after a college sport injury led to back surgery & a DDD diagnosis. He genuinely cares about finding the reason for your pain and doing what he can to alleviate and/or manage your pain. His staff/medical team is attentive and will ensure you’re comfortable before, during, and after a procedure. A nurse will follow up with you by phone a few days after every procedure to see how you’re doing and if you need anything as well. Having been a PM patient elsewhere, Dr. V is the best at what he does. As long as I live with chronic pain & Dr. V is practicing, I’ll be a Southern Pain Management patient.
