I broke my wrist after a bad 3’ fall upon a rock garden after a large, playful dog jumped unexpectedly on me to my side. After three months in a cast and PT, it still was painful, but I assumed it would get better. However after another month, it was worse. My wrist and lower thumb were very disfigured and when I put my elbow on a surface and twisted my hand back and forth, the two main bones visibly moved as they audibly clicked! I started to research, asking for the best doctor for this continued problem and Dr. Chung’s name came up frequently. Upon my first visit, he kindly explained the problem, the possible procedures, and answered my questions with patience and confidence. The best doctor!

Dr Chung is an excellent surgeon. He takes wonderful care of his patients!

When Dr Chung took my case I did not have a lot of options left to find someone who would take on the kind of surgery needed to repair nerve damage to my hand. He was recommended to me by another surgeon as "The person I would want to do the job if it were my hand." I believe that Dr. Chung's more experienced technique and approach to the repair were responsible for the successful outcome. Upon my recent revisit, I felt like we were more like friends getting together again. Dr. Chung is energetic and enthusiastic about his work and the team effort toward a good outcome. He explains the options and challenges of the treatment well and I have complete confidence in him.

Caring very good doctor he did surgery on my left hand and it’s beautiful and now I am doing my right I have great confidence in Dr Chung.

Dr. Chung was very detailed and instructive. The whole OT department was super friendly! I can’t say enough positive things about my visit.

I went to this doctor after being in pain for 6 months, after getting MRI with no results, getting a cortisol shot from an ortho, and a few weeks of Occupational therapy. He comes in with FOUR assistants, examines me for 5 MINUTES without really listening to my complains, and sends me off to an Occupational therapist to get me a brace! When followed up after a week with no improvement, his PA responded by saying that this was all they could do! Seriously? A 'specialist' hand surgeon giving a splint and rest diagnosis after 6 months of pain. Pathetic.

If I could give no rating for this doctor I would. After being referred to this doctor because there is no surgeons within our area that take pediatrics. I called to set the appointment and asked if a test that was needed to determine the severity of my sons injury could be ordered before. Due to the fact this doctor is 3 hours from us. That way when we came the three hours down to this appointment the results would be there and we would know what the next step would be. Dr. Kevin Chi Chung responded with patients and parents don't dictate his practice and told me to go to a website and find someone else to see my son. I'm so glad he takes pride in taking care of the patients that are referred to him in such a professional manner. This experience was unbelievable now I'm back to square one and my son continues to be in pain. Thank you for nothing you inconsiderate a**. If I could give no rating for this doctor I would. On February 1, 2018 I went in with the confidence not only of my faith and what I was believing for but I heard nothing but good news about Dr. Chang. Well I am here to tell you he went above and beyond what I thought I could ever imagine. This man, his staff, U of M, OT have been nothing but a miracle in my life. I came all the way from San Antonio to have my surgery. I am forever grateful for this man. He was a very good surgeon ..when no one else said they could fix my hand they all said there was nothing they could do.I went to dr chung and he said he could or would try..he did fix my hand I can use my hand again .my hand is fully functional again..

Dr. Chung is an exceptional surgeon. After two failed elbow surgeries he was able to revise the previous surgeries and correct my problem. Yes, he does have several hand surgery residents with him at all times....the U of Mich is a 'teaching hospital'! However, Dr. Chung's experience is second to none and well worth the extra waiting time that you may encounter. His residents are really quite knowledgeable and they do a good job.....with Dr. Chung always making sure they miss nothing.

Dr Chung seemed too busy to actually listen to me and examine me. He was very brief and relied on his physician assistant or resident to diagnose my problem. He barely talked to me. He did a very quick examination and could not get away quickly enough. His bedside manner is terrible.
