Waste of time. Dr Perman didn't even attempt treatment. We went to Dr Perman based on a referral from our opthalmologist. There were two issues. Both were for a second opinion (which our primary opthalmologist encouraged). Dr Perman dismissed the first concern (an object in the eye) without even looking at the eye. He literally had no tools in the room to even look for an object in the eye. In the second case, he alternately denied the condition existed (entropion, even though the eye lashes are visibly touching the eye) and told us to return to a surgeon we used a year earlier, even though that doctor is 7,000 miles away. If the condition doesn't exist, why would we return to the original doctor....? Dismissive doctor, and a waste of time.

I was given trusted referral to Dr. Kevin Perman by my ophthalmologist of 24 years and found his staff so rude and lacking in basic communication etiquette I had to leave the office in disgust before seeing this Doctor after a 5 week protracted affair. Unlike other cosmetic surgeons, this Doctor requires a $75 consult fee while his peers offered considerable time and much more polite staff for reviewing blepharoplasty eyelid surgery where the specialties were not a fit. Yet his assistant Zuleyka was rude from the start resisting my request to speak with the Office Manager, Susan, who when I finally reached her was defensive and failed repeatedly to follow-up as needed in advance of the consult. She had every excuse why she couldn't follow-up over a 3-week period as arranged and then when we finally covered this medical concerns for the consult, Susan and Zuleyka were both terribly rude on day of visit leaving me abandoned for half an hour in the hallway, so I had to leave in disgust before meeting this Doctor. When I followed up with Dr. Perman about the awful experience over a 5-week period that cast serious doubt on the post surgery care in his office, he compared the experience to "a bad meal at a good restaurant." This Doctor had an arrogant attitude and couldn't care less about the awful treatment of his staff much less appreciate how poor a reflection this is on his practice or the quality of care from his office. Responding to Answer: The Respondent would suggest ignoring several other similar reviews posted by patients on this platform as well as Yelp and RateMDs.com review platforms where important feedback has been shared. Rather than trivializing awful experiences with her office, the Respondent could use a dose of humility and own up to the poor patient experiences reported. I was given trusted referral to this Doctor by my ophthalmologist of 24 years and found his staff so rude and lacking in basic etiquette I had to leave the office in disgust before seeing this Doctor after a 5 week protracted affair. The Manager Susan and assistant were very rude throughout a 5 week affair till I was left abandoned in hallway day of appt. Absolutely outstanding doctor! Does not even leave a scar. Will only be going to him for surgery fon my face from now on!

Dr Perman is the only doctor to go to for eye lid surgery. I have been told by two other doctors to go to him for a cyst/mass I had on my bottom eyelid. He is very easy going and makes you feel relaxed. I had my consult in Fairfax and surgery in Bethesda. He did awesome work on my eyelid and during surgery (which I was awake) he and he nurses kept the conversation going to make me feel at ease. If I had to complain about anything .... his office was supposed to call me the next day to see how I was doing but I never got a call (I was told they were short staffed that day) and there was confusion on the paper work for post op, the office manager insist I do hot compresses after icing for two days but there was no mention of that in the paper work and I simply was not going to take her word. She said she would have Dr. Perman call me and he called within five minutes and told me to indeed put hot compresses on my eyelid. I will not reduce my stars, his work was exceptional

Excellent outcome from my eyelid surgery (drooping lid); Dr. Perman is low-key and very competent, I highly recommend him.

I found Dr. Perman and his staff to be friendly, caring and knowledgeable regarding my recent eye procedure. I would recommend his office without hesitation.

I would highly recommend Dr. Perman. 5 stars for sure. He is compassionate, takes his time to answer questions, he speaks to you not down to you. He is extremely thorough to the extent that during my operation he something he didn't like and took a sample which he sent to the lab. As a result it was determined that it was cancer. If it wasn't for his due diligence it would never been discovered.

Dr. Perman is absolutely amazing and he is the one to chose for your eye surgery. I explored three different ocuplastic surgeons and chose him and I am so glad. Professionalism all the through the experience and his office surgery coordinator, Susan, is absolutely amazing and a true life line for any questions before and challenges after the procedure. It is hard to go back to a regular doctor - patient experience after what amazing service and results I experienced with this team.

Dr. Perman's care was excellent! He was so kind, caring and professional. I had eyelid surgery on both eyes and healed quickly without any complications. I am so pleased with the results! I would highly recommend him. His staff took excellent care of me as well.

He operated on my eyelid because I had a eyelid disorder. It was feeling like something was in my eye continually. He fixed the eyelid fantastical.

I debated about 10 years and went to two other surgeons before I decided to use Dr. Perman. I liked the fact that he was an opthalmologist in addition to being a plastic surgeon; I liked his manner; and liked the fact that I couldn't tell that the friend who recommended him had ever had eye surgery! At age 78, I was afraid I might be too old, but obviously I was not! I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. Perman is skilled and empathetic, and Susan, his nurse, is warm and caring.

Dr. Perman did my eyelids. I had the surgery in Haymarket, Va. The whole procedure went as promised. Susan at the desk was very very responsive to emails regarding care and nerves! I iced and followed directions. Could not be happier. The scar is completely hidden and it all suits my face.

I had a bump on the lower rim of my eye that was misdiagnosed for over a year. Finally I was referred to Dr. Perman. It was surgically removed by Dr. Perman, I had to have Mohs and then Dr. Perman did a remarkable reconstruction of my eye. When I tell people how extensive it was they can't believe it. If it wasn't for the Mohs having taken part of my bottom eye lashes and eye rim you would never know. Dr. Perman is an excellent doctor and he takes time with his patients. Very important!

Dr. Perman corrected a dysfunction/disfigurement involving my upper and lower eyelids. He completely fixed the previous work of a less skilled surgeon, and resolved my anxiety about the function and appearance of my eyes. Not only are my eyelids much more functional and in a better position, but they look beautiful, symmetrical, and completely natural... that definitely wasn't the case before! I can't recommend him and his awesome staff enough.

Dr. Perman performed several surgeries on my eyelids commencing in the 1990’s and continuing through 2016. The surgeries were performed primarily to protect my corneas. The surgeries also improved my appearance. The 2016 surgery included a cosmetic piece, tightening the sagging tissue under my eyes. The Surgical Coordinator reviewed my medical history and provided all required information to ensure I was properly prepared for the surgeries. This is a caring and competent practice.

Dr. Perman worked on my eyelids about six months ago and the results are awesome. He made me comfortable in my first appointment, took the time to openly answer all of my many, many questions, and really calmed me down day of surgery (I hate needles, REALLY hate needles!) Afterward, he was supportive and reassuring as I healed. He is gifted professionally and a warm, caring person as well. I would take my kids to him in a heartbeat.

I used Dr. Perman several years ago and as both a patient and clinician found his work outstanding. Never felt rushed, phoned in the evening, then again the following day to check on pain level and any questions I may have had. My surgery lasted twelve years---although he thought I would need a 'tune up,' in ten. Incredibly capable and extremely honest to a fault. I'm sorry the above patients did not have the same experience....

Same experience as others. Rushed me out, was rude when I told him I wanted a second opinion. He is becoming an arrogant Doctor which is not going to do him well no matter how great he is with surgery. Bed side manners still mean a lot.

Went in for a second opinion on a lower bleph I had done and was not satisfied with. Gave me no opinion and told me if I wanted to do another one in 5 years to call him back. Rushed me out. Biggest waste of time and money.
