I am a new patient and went to Dr Smallwood for a general skin cancer screening and a couple of specific concerns with hair /skin. She was super thorough in her exam, spent a lot of time with me to understand my issues/history/ concerns & gave me a really lengthy exam. She was professional yet warm & friendly, and made me feel comfortable and heard. I was really surprised by how thorough her exam was and how she checked up on me after for follow up questions and labs, etc. Definitely recommend her based on my experience and the couple of appts I've had. Really sweet & friendly nurses and staff as well, and convenient appointments with no crazy wait times. If I could give her a 6 star rating I would. I had shown Brevard Skin and Cancer a mark on my arm and they blew it off as a freckle. Doctor Smallwood noticed it immediately, and wanted to perform a biopsy. Turned out to be Melanoma. She handled it expediently and professionally. Her level of communication was to be admired.

on the recommendation of my husband a current patient of hers, I decided to give her a try this morning. "she'll be in in 10 minutes..." turned out to be sitting in a cold room for 1.20 hrs in a hospital gown. by the time she finally arrived no apology was made which leads me to believe she was unaware of me waiting all this time for an appointment made well ahead of time. she is indeed a good one unfortunately this experience left a sour taste

Dr. Smallwood took care of my skin issues for 18 years and is the best Dermatologist ever. I live in Titusville and when I got layed off at the rocket ranch I stopped driving that far. But I will be coming back if she will have me. I have not found a Dermatologist in Titusville that comes even remotely close to her care and expertise!!

I've been coming to see Dr. Smallwood since I was in high school, 20 years ago. I live in California now, but I still come back for any skincare issues because she is the best dermatologist I have found.

This office has ridiculous standards. Personally denied an appointment because of a billing issue that happened over TEN years ago when I was a minor and had no control over the situation. Get over yourself.

The older lady at the front desk has no compassion and is so rude. People going through scary health issues with their skin are stressed enough without having to be talked down to and treated like they are beneath her. I will not be returning. Having seen Dr Smallwood since 1995, I can say NEVER have I heard anyone spoken to rudely,(even when they deserved to be.) Dr Smallwood has performed surgery on me several times during those years and the staff has been very helpful post surgery. Anita Taylor

I see the two one star reviews. I'm sorry if they had a bad experience, but I've been going to Doctor Smallwood for years, and I think she's great! I've never had a problem with any of the staff, and as for Doctor Smallwood - she's kind, very thorough, explains any findings and treatment to the level of detail you want, and very prompt. My husband and I have been going to Dr. Smallwood for 20 + years. She and her staff have always been wonderful. She is very thorough and attentive. She doesn't try to sell you expensive treatments, but is truly devoted to keeping your skin healthy. She is a very popular doctor in this area. I will go out of my way to see her.

Called to get an appointment for my mom who just moved here from Pennsylvania. The receptionist haughtily chuckled at me and said" Dr. Smallwood has a four page waiting list." I asked if she could refer me to someone else. Instead of waiting for me to finish she interrupted me and said "call Doctor so and so." I replied, " if i could just tell you a little about the situation...interrupted again. I was going to finish with " my Mom has melanoma that has metastasized to her lung and brain. If you refer me to someone make she they can handle this situation and the effects the chemo has had on her skin." Again, INTERRUPTED with, "Well, if we don't have time to see her why would you have to tell me anything." I hung up on her. 1. Dr. Smallwood-you are in danger of not being considered a good doctor if you have a lousy office staff. 2. If you are so busy, why don't you bring on a few partners? My wife and I have been patients of Dr. Smallwood for many years and have always received the best of care. She is compassionate and very caring, and is very thorough in her approach to her patients problems. Her nurses are very nice and are a very good complement to Dr. Smallwood. We wouldn't trade her for the world!

I have been Dr. Smallwood's patient for many years and I have always found her to be personable and compassionate to her patients. I work for 4 physicians and its very hard to get out of the office for an appointment. She and her assistant have stayed late in order to get me in. With a personal and familial history of Melanoma. I am extremely picky as to whom I pick for a dermatologist. Her staff has always been attentive and professional. Would I recommend her to someone? yes, in a heartbeat.. as for the suggestion to have other physicians in her office..I'd vote NO on that.. I do not want to go into an office where you get passed around to other physicians and their PA's which is what these multi-physician offices you get lost in the shuffle...Not at Dr. Smallwood's office..
