Dr. Kyle J Godfrey

Dr. Kyle Godfrey is great. I broke up a pit bull fight at my job (work with animals full time) one lunged at my face and somehow sliced my bottom eye lid and tore my tear duct basically. TMI but the bottom lid was basically ripped. . I was super lucky to have gone to the ER and have Kyle Godfrey be on call that night. He assessed the situation and gave me a few surgery options and was very straight forward with pros and cons / recommendations with waiting for surgery etc. respected his honest opinions while also having a great bedside manner and making you feel comfortable. We did the surgery that night and he got to work right away. about 5 years later I have no issues with my tear duct (no excess tears no excess dryness) and you could never tell I had surgery done on my lower eye lid. The scar healed beautifully and was as if nothing ever happened. Meant to write this years ago but totally forgot and remembered because of iphone memories as it was this time a few years ago lol! highly recommend if you want top notch professional care.

I went to him for a minor eye lid wart. He is very personable and did not think it warranted surgery.

Had a white cyst on my right eyelid. Was concerned. He was reassuring and his impeccable and surgical ability had the procedure go smoothly with no side effects. I am so happy.

Dr. Kyle J. Godfrey is a terrific surgeon and doctor. I am very pleased he was my eye surgeon. I had a wonderful experience with a very successful outcome. I was involved in a very serious head on colli9on with a drunk driver. My eye injuries were substantial. My eye socket was shattered. I had double vision and there was the threat my eyeball without surgery would drop. I called my ophthalmologist who gave me a recommendation of an eye surgeon. I went to see the recommended doctor and that doctor based on my multiple injuries referred me to Dr. Godfrey and even called and made the appointment for me. Dr, Godfrey took me in the very next day. I was very fragile emotionally and physically and been through a great deal. I broke many bones, had internal bleeding and was in a great deal of pain. He went out of his way to make me comfortable. For the first time since my accident, I felt I was in good hands. Two days later, I was having surgery where he repaired the fractured socket and inserted an implant. I’ve been back twice for post op follow ups and both were routine. The office visits were uneventful. His staff is extremely helpful and kind. Dr. Godfrey couldn’t have been more genuine, professional, gracious or competent. Dr. Kyle J. Back in April of 2021 I had a surgery to open up my tear ducts closed due to constant infections. I have tried every single medication and treatments that never worked or just gave me little relief. Dr. Godfrey reviewed my medical history and all my medications and treatments that I had over the years and suggested to have a surgery. That was the best decisions I made . I have seen a lot of ophthalmologist but Dr. Godfrey is a true doctor who is taking this difficult profession to a different level. I cannot thank enough Dr. Godfrey. I had 98% improvement and my quality of life has improved tremendously. I wish I would meet Dr. Godfrey earlier. THIS DOCTOR WAS OFFENSIVE AND INSULTING TO ME A DISABLED SENIOR CITIZEN WITH AN ORBITAL PROBLEM. HE TOLD ME I HAVE A RETENTION AND UNDERSTANDING PROBLEM WHEN HE HAD TO REITERATE DETAILS. HE ADVOCATED SURGERY FOR MY PROBLEM AND THEN THE NEXT DAY TOLD ME HE WAS NOT COMFORTABLE DOING IT AND CONTINUED TO INSULT MY MENTAL CAPABILITIES WHEN I HAVE A SEVERE ISSUE TO RESOLVE. HE IS TOO YOUNG AND UN EXPERIENCED. FIND A BETTER MORE EXPERIENCED SURGEON/OPTHAMOLOGIST. THIS ONE GAVE ME A PANIC ATTACK WITH HIS BAD BEHAVIOR.

I had severe asymmetry in my lower lids in addition to both drooping resulting from a bad car accident and tissue loss. I needed artificial tears every 5 minutes cause of the constant dryness from exposure. He lifted the lids and also gave my eyes a natural shape/contour which I profoundly needed! He was able to put me at complete ease while I was as nervous as I have ever been before my eye surgery. There's something to be said about good doctors in this world, they come far and few in between. Dr. Kyle J. Godfrey is an Optometrist and Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon affiliated with Weill Cornell Hospital in NYC. He is a friendly, knowledgeable and an excellent doctor and surgeon. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for an optometrist for any complex eye issues.

I had an excisional biopsy with Dr. Godfrey and was very scared before the procedure. He was so charming and completely calmed me down and made a scary experience for me so much easier....We actually talked throughout the whole procedure. I so highly recommend Dr. Godfrey and now want to know if would do my cataract surgery! My only suggestion was that he didn’t have lollipops on hand to give me one!!! I had a small cyst removed from my inner eye lid, it was in a very tough area to reach- Dr. Godfrey is a skilled surgeon and he did an amazing job! I had only a little redness along the lash line the next day and I was concerned about potential bruising with the holidays approaching. This is now my eye guy forever, I just hope one day he watches “The Goonies” so he can laugh at my “One Eyed Willy” joke (he fitted me with a patch to wear for a few hours afterward). Dr Godfrey is very smart with a great bedside manner. He listened to my concerns, was very engaging and answered all my questions without making me feel stupid for asking them I was worried about my procedure but found him to be comforting gentle and extremely competent. My outcome was great and I highly recommend him to all my family and friends

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Godfrey. He was very caring and thoughtful in his approach. He could tell I was nervous, and he really explained everything in a way that allayed my worries. Dr. Godfrey was caring, efficient, and excellent when he biopsied my right temporal artery at Weill Cornell in New York City in late September, 2019. Afterward, when I called with questions, he answered my calls. The site of the biopsy is healing as he said it would. I highly recommend Dr. Godfrey and give him the maximum amount of stars
