Dr. Lamia Gabal

Dr. Gabal is easy to understand and explains urinary health conditions well. She has cared for me over the last two years and understands my health other conditions. She has shared her plan of care with me and offered an opportunity for questions and I understand the plan well. I appreciate all she and her team do to keep me healthy.

They NEVER answer the phone. Have been calling for 3 days every couple hours. I had to come in 3 times just to let them know I had to make an appointment, do a drop off and re schedule.

Doctor Lamia Gabal has very good doctor manners and is informative and her staff is friendly and nice.

Dr Gabal, along with her complete team are compassionate & competent. Dr Gabal and Julia take their time in explaining condition, treatment & options. They demonstrate respect for patients while at an in office visit or on the phone. Messages are always responded to timely. Follow up or follow thru is also done timely. My experience with Prestige Medical Group was excellent. The staff is conscientious and efficient. Dr. Gabal, my surgeon, is highly knowledgeable and has performed countless surgeries for prolapse of bladder and rectum. I want to thank Dr. Gabal for being such a genuine, caring doctor. I have had a long battle with bladder and kidney issues and no answers. The first time I saw Dr. Gabal she showed so much concern and was determined to get to the root cause of the problem. I finally feel heard and confident that I am in good hands and will finally get answers and treatment to resolve my issues. After many years of having bladder and kidney problems, and recently being hospitalized with sepsis because of this I was praying for some answers. Dr. Gabal was caring, thorough and determined to find answers. I feel so much better and have confidence that I am I good hands with Dr. Gabal moving forward

I love Dr Gabal. Experiencing Bladder Cancer can be daunting. Dr Gabal was professional and personable. She filled me in on every detail every step of the way. . I felt very confident going into surgery and with my treatments afterwards. Her staff is very personable and professional. My one criticism is that no one ever answers the phone or calls back when you leave one message. It takes several messages to get a response and that can certainly be discouraging to any patient or potential patient. . The thing that bothers me is that it’s not a reflection of Dr Gabal herself . She is very timely. I hope that she and her office can come to a solution for this problem. I know it’s not just me ,because I was in the waiting room and a woman came in to make an appointment for her husband. She said she came in because after several calls and messages she wanted to make sure there really was a Dr Gabal and office. That is certainly not good for business and I know from Dr Gabals’ professional approach , it is not the way she wants her office to be run. At my first appointment, I saw the nurse practitioner. She was super thorough, friendly and listened to my concerns. She also explained things very well. Four stars because office staff does not answer the phone which is bad for a medical office and long wait time to be seen; however, would recommend for good care. :)

Office staff completely incompetent. I saw Dr. Gabal 1st visit only. After that was a Nurse Practitioner or Assistant. One time they had be confused with someone else as they gave me a scary diagnoses and it was not me. After not seeing them for over a year, I really needed to be seen. Called the office, and when they called back a day later, I was told that because I had not been in for over a year, that I could not be seen. Go see your PCP. Then the next week got a call from them that Dr. Gabal would like to see me again as a new patient!!! Not professional. TOTAL INCOMPETENCE.... Please avoid this doctor. The office is only a partial urologist office. It is a wide combination of cosmetic procedures, including the MonaLisa Touch®, SculpSure®, Pellevé®, Icon™ laser treatments, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) applications. Always an outstanding experience with Dr Gabal. She covers all details, doesn’t rush, listens to your concerns and gives you time to ask questions.

Always the Doctor and PA and all of the staff are kind and helpful. Going to the doctors is not fun,however it’s good to know people care at Prestige.

Although Dr Gabal was professional as she performed the surgery, she used the wrong product for the 'bridge' and when it failed and I was waiting for my appointment I overheard her words to that patient, which she then soothingly used on me in the same tone of voice. When I objected and told her of the pain and agony she had caused me her reply was "I don't have to sit here and listen to this" My retort to her parting figure was "But I have to live with it the rest of my life". it's been more than 15 years, several attempted reconstructive surgeries later, and the condition is worse and has ruined my life. In my opinion, I am surprised she is allowed to practice , let alone be affiliated with such a prestigious Hospital as Hoag. Be forewarned.!!

Dr. Gabal is very knowledgeable and patient with her clients. She describes the treatments very well. She listens to her patients very well and answers their questions in detail. She has a very pleasant and re-assuring personality that you don't find with many doctors today.

My experience was both pleasant and efficient. I sought out a Urologist for a treatment of this sensitive nature rather than a simple wellness clinic. Dr Gabal's staff was courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. if you are looking for efficient and effective, this is the clinic you should visit.

"I was scheduled for a procedure at Dr. Gabal's office. Having 2 previous appointments. I Paid my co-pay and instead of having that done. I was left in the waiting room, to be told the Tech doing the procedure did not want to do it. I asked if another Tech was available, NO. Asked to talk to Dr. I was told she was busy. No rescheduled by the office. I called back several times to talk to Dr. No call from her. I was told to schedule telehealth with her if I wanted to talk to anyone at her office. the procedure I went for was a biopsy. How do that with a phone appointment? Now I have to find another Dr. to take care of this. Please AVOID this Dr. Office. The staff is rude and Dr. Does not care about her patients."

The best MD and NP Ive ever had the pleasure of seeing. I made my most recent appointment with Barbara, NP; Barbara was friendly and discussed my history and current complaint with such attention it felt like she came into work just for me. She is very easy to talk to and makes uncomfortable topics feel casual. I was then suprised to hear that Dr. Gabal would be seeing me as well that visit. Dr. Gabal provides consistent individualized care and actually took the time to collect my history/complaints, do a thorough assessment, discuss treatment options, and spent extra time answering my 100 questioned without the slight hint of impatience. Dr. Gabal is also very involved with progressive urology medicine and intervention. Because of this she offered information on a variety of treatment options that may be helpful in the near to far future. Some of which are probably not covered by insurance and out of my price range, but I was happy for the information and to know the possibilities. Thank you for your wonderful care! Dr. Gabal was very helpful in my decision to pursue surgery. She clearly explained the pros & cons and that with my condition I can wait to have the surgery and not be impacted by it. She & her staff are always very kind and helpful with all my questions.

Never saw Dr. Gabal because her office is incompetent, not helpful, and only interested in getting paid. That reflects on her. She shuffled me off to an associate, Dr. Trofimenko, who was not contracted by my medical group. When I showed up for my appointment I was turned away. Great compassion. Money must rule the roost at her office.

Dr. Gabal was great at first. Through time she disregarded my symptoms, her staff was rude, and the billing office ignored me. I played the 500.00 bill disregarding their behaviors. I'm not sure what caused the change in their attitude. Medical professionals are trained in all area's of patients needs. They are a very judgmental office. This made an impression on me. I have suffered from bladder and UTI issues since my mid 30's. I went to a male urologist in OC and he recommended an permanent catheter because he couldn't figure out what was wrong with me... I came across Dr. Gabal's video on the St.Joseph website and I was in shock! she was describing all of my symptoms that I had been dealing with for 5 years! I called her office and the receptionist was so sweet and comforting. On the day of my appointment Dr. Gabal was so so sweet and empathetic to my baldder issues and how it has affected my life. Dr. Gabal worked her magic and after 6 weeks of treatment in her office I felt like a 20 year old and my bladder was no longer a problem for me!! I can't thank Dr. Gabal and her staff enough. So professional, smart and just so knowledgeable on all aspects of urology and symptoms. Please look no further u have found the best Urologist in the OC.. Refuses to order UTI antibiotics over the phone even with over the counter test results and very obvious sysmtoms due to "office policy". Reffered me to an urgent care or ER instead of just writing a perscription. They refilled my muscle relaxers though no questions asked. Nonsense.

I love Dr. Gabal. If you are looking for a caring, knowledgable and sharp doctor, look no further. I can't say enough good things about her. She is worth every minute you have to wait to get that first appointment.

Is Lamia Gabal a humanist who cares about your needs as a human being or a self-absorbed and nearsighted healing arts practitioner? Let me make this clear that I do not question her clinical skills, but I do take issue with her lack of concern for me as a person. I must conclude that her clinical expertise as an Urologist alone does not impress me because there are scores of competent technocratic uncaring practitioners of medicine who work for their personal enrichment. I need more.
