Upon meeting Dr Crist, I was taken by his knowledge of my problem...he answered every question with much understanding of every concern.... Laid out our plan of attack.. I feel very safe putting my health need in him. Very professional.... As well his staff is very professional. All areas should be 5's below but my tablet wouldn't allow me to put more than 3 stars in...

UPMC Health Network and Hospitals claim to be leaders in medical technology offering state of the art medical care to its patients. Yet 4 years ago a device was clearly available that would NOT have led to my stomach removal; LINX device ends acid reflux and the need for heartburn meds. No such offer was provided me by physicians @ UPMC… The LINX Reflux Management System was produced by Thorax Medical Inc. of St. Paul, Minn. And has been available for about four years to prevent gastro-esophageal reflux disease, or GERD… The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved the device in 2012 so it was available at the time UPMC surgeon L. Crist, M.D. elected to remove my stomach. Some physicians worry too much about the bottom line of their bank statements than they do the patients. I fell into that situation. Now I do NOT have a quality life health wise… UPMC Health Network and Hospitals claim to be leaders in medical technology offering state of the art medical care to its patients. This man changed my life...by butchering me beyond belief! If you are ever referred to him, RUN as far and as fast as you can. He is as incompetent as they come. I can't hold him responsible for the damage he did, but I can sure let others know what a butcher he is!

Do not go to this doctor. If you are referred to him, run as fast as you can in the other direction. After butchering me beyond belief, he discharged me knowing full well I would end up back in the hospital, which I did. Only now, I was some other doctors problem! He completely destroyed my life and didn't bother to stick around to see the extent of his damage. I can't hold him responsible, but I sure can warn others of his incompetence!
Botched surgery and ruined my life. Provided NO follow up. Left me to others care.
