Dr. Lee Eric Rubin

Recently underwent partial knee replacement surgery late last year. From the pre-op meeting to the actual surgery to the post op, everything went effortlessly. Using Dr. Rubin's robot guided surgical methods, I was walking unassisted with minimal pain within a week and nearly fully recovered 5 weeks later. Can't say enough how thoughtful, professional and skilled Dr Rubin is. Exemplary.

I had both knees replaced, 3 months apart. I had waited about 5 years longer than I was told by other doctors to have them done. The damage in my knees was severe and the only reason I could stand or walk at all was my high tolerance to pain. Both knees were also severely bowed. Dr. Rubin is nothing short of a magician. My legs are completely straight and other than the first day or two the pain was minimal. He was very confident from the get go and eased a lot of my fears before the surgery. He went far above and beyond any expectations I had for my knees. He also has a great staff behind him that was extremely helpful and always available. He is a life changer!!

I researched and found Dr. Rubin for his expertise in the anterior approach to hip replacement surgery. From the very 1st office appointment, I knew Dr. Rubin was the surgeon, he was confident and understanding of all my concerns and fears while taking his time to explain in detail. His RN staff was simply amazing! They were constantly in touch, guiding me through the preop and prepping me for what to expect post surgery. To this day they even reach out to see how I am (who does that). My hip replacement was performed at the Yale McGivney Advanced Surgery Center, this was my first time there and it shocked me on just how friendly and professional all the staff were to me and my wife. The postoperative pain was nothing compared to the arthritis pain I had been living with. I cannot be more happy with this new hip, No pain with standing, so much more range of motion, the ability to do long hikes, walk a golf coarse. I truly feel young again. Thank you Dr. Rubin and Team.

On March 28, 2022, I had a total left hip replacement by Dr. Lee Rubin. I cannot find the words to express how grateful I am for Dr. Rubin. Two weeks to the day, I was back at work, with no walker and no cane. All of the pain that I had leading up to the hip replacement was gone. In addition, Dr. Rubin explained everything in great detail and you can tell that he is a perfectionist. Again, I can't thank Dr. Rubin enough and recommend him 1,000%.

My experience with Dr. Rubin was absolutely the best! I wish I hadn't waited so long to have the procedure. I couldn't walk without a cane beforehand. I was walking without a limp or cane within 3 weeks. The entire staff was professional, polite, and caring for every visit. Thank you to Dr. Rubin and every single person who had a hand in seeing me through this major surgery.

Arrived early, had films done, then waited in a run down exam room but MD never came in..waited 45 minutes and left. The assistant that did the screening questions was clueless and really had no business working in an ortho office-I informed her I had Heterotopic ossification as well as diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis and she had no idea what I was talking about and didn’t bother to write it in her notes..the PT scheduling staff could not have been less helpful. A complete waste of time, I’ll return to Hartford Hospital and Orthopedic Associates of Hartford for quality care and service..

D. Rubin did a knee replacement. He was very professional up to the day of surgery. He wasn't a fan of pain meds, even before or after surgery. After the operation, I never heard from him again. My pain was severe. My daughter called my Primary and within an hour, I had what I needed for pain meds. It took me 4 months to recover and I had to use a walker. Another surgeon replaced my other knee. Wonderful experience! Walked 220 steps the day after surgery. Walking without a cane within a month. Driving, too.

Dr. Lee Rubin performed a left hip arthroplasty on me on 10/20/21, at the Yale McGivney Orthopaedic Center, a state-of-the-art medical center. The pre-surgical care by Dr. Rubin and his staff was exceptional. They made sure all appointments, information and pre-op requirements were met and quickly addressed all questions and concerns I had. I was brought through the day of surgery with explanations of each procedure, lessening my level of anxiety. Patient care was exceptional and comforting through entire experience. I returned home just hours after surgery with immediate relief from hip pain. The recovery was short, painless and successful, an obvious testament to Dr . Rubin's skill and experience. Thank you to Dr. Rubin and the entire Yale staff for restoring my quality of life!

it sucked, i had 4 knee replacements same knee do to infections

Look no further. Dr. Rubin is the most talented and gifted surgeon that anyone could hope for. Not only did Dr. Rubin perform a knee replacement surgery on me, two months later, he performed an emergency broken kneecap surgery on the same knee! ( The kneecap had to be totally rebuilt.) Without his skill and precision, there was a high probability that my mobility would be compromised for the rest of my life. Dr. Rubin is my super hero and I will forever be grateful to him.

Dr. Rubin is an outstanding surgeon who has provided me with a new lease on life with my total hip replacement! From my initial meeting with Dr Rubin to post- operative questions, and follow-up appointments, I received compassionate clear information and advice that helped ensure a very successful outcome. My grandchildren are thrilled to having me back hiking the trails with them! I highly recommend Dr. Rubin. His support staff is also outstanding and attentive as well.

My husband had knee replacement surgery with Dr Rubin. I Was blown away by the professionalism. He and his staff are top notch. Appointments are on time. He is efficient and clear in his communications. The surgery was an incredible success. I was surprised how quickly he was up and around at 69 without a cane or walker. Up and downstairs the day he came home. I would not recommend “Vera” the AI PT. It was useless and annoying. The fan ran 24/7 in our bedroom for weeks. No replacement for PT with a person. Other then that it was a great experience and despite Vera he is making great progress at a rapid rate to full recovery. Thank you Dr Rubin and your staff!

Would recommend him highly. He did a great job on my husbands hip replacement. He explained everything clearly. My husband was able to walk 2 days after surgery. I would highly recommend him.

I had a total knee replacement by Dr Rubin at Yale New Haven hospital. I am now 6 weeks post surgery and have near complete recovery, and absence from joint pain for first time in years. I was walking without aids 2 weeks after surgery. Now, after extensive PT, have full range of motion and continue to be pain free. Dr Rubin and his wonderful staff made the process as easy as could be expected. I would highly recommend for anyone needing this procedure.

Dr. Rubin and his staff were straightforward from the first meeting as to the process for my partial knee replacement. I was told what to expect before, during and after the procedure. It was performed at the McGivney Advanced Surgery Center at St. Raphael's campus of Yale New Haven Hospital. I was at the center in the morning and home for dinner!! I would highly recommend Dr. Rubin for any type of joint replacement surgery!

Had hip replacement on Halloween, went home that night. Walking stairs no problem the next day - doing home therapy daily, Experiencing NO pain I would recommend Dr Rubin to all my friends - wish I done this 4 years ago! Thanks Dr Rubin !

Wonderful Doctor Great at same day surgery for hip replacement

Dr. Rubin, his team, and the staff at the St. Raphael's campus are all amazing! I had my right and left hips replaced in the past year or so, and the results are simply life altering! As a consequence of Dr Rubin's skill and technique, there were no restrictions after surgery, and I was back to my active lifestyle of cycling, dancing, etc. within a couple of weeks. Don't hesitate to have work done by this team, it wound the clock backwards, physically, ten years for me, and I'm so thankful!!!

Dr. Rubin is an excellent doctor. I also enjoyed his sense of humor and the fact that he regularly publishes. I had a THR in August and though patience is hard for me, I can honestly say my pain level is miniscule compared to the decade of pain I had before. I'm still recovering and trying not to overdo it but I can walk a mile, bike a mile and need no support. The incision is so small. He's amazing.

Waited over an hour to see physician for 15 minutes a a new patient. No warning he was running behind nor an apology. Most unfortunate.

Dr. Rubin performed 2 partial knee surgeries on me this past year, the first in March and the other knee in October. He was a godsend. I am now pain free and back to bicycling, skiing and tennis. I had lived with pain for many years. I found Dr. Rubin to be very professional, knowledgable, and took time to listen and answer my concerns. He is up to date on techniques and rehab. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends.

I suffered from osteoarthritis of both knees as well as being severely bow-legged. Met Dr. Rubin and he worked within my schedule to repair both my knees. I couldn't be happier with the results. I could and have recomended Dr.Rubin to family and friends. Also, every member of his office and nursing staff went above and beyond my expectations. I am so very fortunate to have found Dr. Rubin. Because I have many extenuating circumstances, Dr. Rubin did not agree to my knee replacement surgery until he took a month to do research and consult with colleagues about my case. When he finally agreed to the surgery, I had the utmost confidence that this was a viable option for me. I suffered needlessly for several years over concerns of getting my hip replaced, potential problems and recovery time. Wow, did Dr. Rubin show me how unnecessary my years of pain was. The surgery was so easy. In recovery I could tell I was already feeling better. I was back to work in 4 weeks, and just over two months since the surgery, I am pain free and ecstatic that I can walk, sit, drive and sleep without pain. Thank you Dr.Rubin! BEST. SURGEON. EVER!

On Friday, October 21, 2016, Dr. Lee Rubin replaced my left hip via the Anterior Approach at Miriam Hospital....The procedure is less invasive than the traditional Posterior Approach.......The incision is 4 inches and he cuts through no muscle, tissue or tendons...PT had me walking with a walker 8 hours after surgery and allowed to put 100% weight on the leg with the new hip.....Discharged Sunday, October 23rd in time to watch the Pats Game.......Thanks again Dr. Rubin........U R the Best !!!!!!

Dr. Rubin is amazing. I had been in pain and limped around for over 4 years with doctors telling me it was only arthritis and keep moving. Found Dr. Rubin and Xrays confirmed I needed both hips replaced. . Rubin performance was no short of miraculous! I have the full movement, no pain, and the quality of my life has improved dramatically. His approach had me moving within hours of surgery and back to work in 4 weeks.

Thanks to Dr. Rubin, I'm like a new woman! The pain is gone and I have my life back. I had total confidence in Dr. Rubin. If you are considering Dr. Rubin for hip replacement, go no further. You have picked the right doctor!

I would greatly recommend Dr. Rubin for any operation concerning his expertise in orthopedics. I had a partial knee replacement on May 9, 2016 and felt very confident in Dr. Rubin ,he explained the procedure very carefully and after the operation he informed my wife of all that he had done. Dr. Rubin was excellent at explaining the surgical procedure he was going to perform. He answered all of my questions without rushing through his explanations. I was able to call his office and get answers to any further questions prior to my surgery. Dr. Rubin has all of his total hip replacement patients attend a 4 hour tutorial two weeks prior to surgery. After the tutorial there was a question and answer period. The whole experience was a good one. I highly recommend Dr. Rubin.

Dr Rubin is a no nonsense direct tell it like it is surgeon. He did an exceptional job replacing my hip that was full of arthritis due to Lyme disease. After 4 years of excruciating pain I am walking at least a mile a day I will need two knee replacements also and will be going back to see Dr Rubin. His office staff is caring and pleasant and always takes time with you

He as the utmost care and concern for his patients. I have not had my hip replacement yet, 26 days and counting and I already visualize my trip up MT. KAHTADHIN.

Although Dr. Rubin feels his surgical skills are beyond reproach, he is unable to help if the outcome is not textbook perfect. Total knee replaced with debilitating pain still after 1 year. Another surgery done to see if he could find the cause. Again,No relief from pain. 6 months later,after being told he did a perfect job, he said he could do no more. Now for 6 months, I have been seeing another MD that is at least TRYING several non surgical interventions. I would not recommend him!
