He does rounds at many nursing homes. He doesn't give his patients the time of day, he depends on the nurses to diagnose their patients before he will even acknowledge there is a problem and even then he doesn't address it as he should. He shows no compassion with his patients. He will write notes that he has seen and examined patients he has never even met. The patients he does see he doesn't even examine, he walks into the room and introduces himself as the doctor. Then he says just checking in, nice to meet you and walks out of their room. Doesn't even take out his stethoscope, yet he dictates a long note about their medical symptoms he is treating.
Yes, I would recommend Dr. Gelman to family and friends. I have been a patient of his for over 30 years. I am very happy that I found a Dr. that I can trust to look out for my health. Also, to guide me on how to take care of my health. Thank You, DR. Gelman.
Dr. Gelman is very smart and thoughtful. I was reassured that he would take care of my condition and provide me with the necessary treatment. He explained thoroughly what my options were. I really trust Dr. Gelman's opinion as he seemed to give the matter of my health great consideration.

Have been a patient of his for about 30 years and this man is Excellent!! He is a Doctor who actually listens to his patients, who truly cares about their well being. He gives them the options of treatment, discusses all options, sends them to the Best Doctors available in the area. If you need to see another Doctor he gets you in ASAP. He discusses all your test, blood work with you and explains it all in terms in which you the patient can understand and he clams your fears. Excellent Doctor!!!
He was my primary care doctor for almost 20 years but he walked out of his exam room when I was telling him about a new symptom. Six weeks later I had a massive PE and was not expected to live through the night. He falls way short on communicating and diagnostic capability.
