I do not recommend going to Dr Yen for any procedure , he does not care and unprofessional. 3 years later and still having issues

Dr. Yen and his staff were very informative and courteous throughout my journey. The results of my procedure from Dr. Yen are absolutely amazing, he made a last second change in our plan, and I trusted his opinion, and boy am I glad I did. I could not have asked for a better surgeon, I cannot thank him enough!! Highly recommended.

Today marks one year since my first surgery with Dr Yen. My mastectomy. He was unable to close one side and do I had an open wound and twice daily dressing changes. After several weeks I had my second surgery and still, the one side was not closed. The surgery site still hurts. I have unsightly “ dog ears “ and I can barelook at my body.

I had double mastectomy w/ reconstruction (due to cancer) in 3/2020 w/ him. During consultations, he acted like I was wasting his time when asking questions of possible implant complications. He did not provide adequate informed consent the FDA and Allergan request him to and my implant flipped over 9 months post op requiring surgery. I have told him at each followup visit of my systemic symptoms which started after implants were in; he never replied to my concerns. I'm having surgery to remove implants w/ another surgeon since I don't feel safe with Yen due to making me feel awful when I ask questions, doesn't provide the needed info in order to make an informed consent, can't provide me a reason why my implant flipped 9 months post op, does not care that I have been feeling sick since the implants have been placed and he didn't know about the 9/2020 box warning the fda released regarding implants. If he was honest w/ me regarding implant risks, I would have never agreed to implants.

Dr Yen is absolutely a good doctor he listened and gave me my options. I love his staff and his nurse Joni.. Love these guys I highly recommend!

I had breast cancer with reconstruction 26 years ago and then had breast cancer this winter in the other breast. My question to him was can you do this in one surgery & can you make implants match. He told me yes. Well they really don't match and I'll have to have another surgery. This man never directly answers a question. He is very good at being evasive. I am extremely unhappy. I have an area where I can stick my finger into; he couldn't tell me why. Unhappy they'll send you gift cards

Do not go to Dr Yen if you have breast cancer. He will likely drag you through multiple redo surgeries, as he is sloppy the first time. Avoid this guy!

This was my first visit to see Dr. Yen. Dr. Yen, really made my visit comfortable. He listened and told me several options I had. Thank you!!!

Very sloppy, careless work on breast cancer double survivor. Women with breast cancer deserve to have it done carefully and correctly the first and only time. Too many redo surgeries caused by his failing to plan. Go anywhere else!

I had a great experience having Dr. Yen as my surgeon. I got an amazing result. He and his staff are very pleasant, professional, and efficient. I had consultations with two other surgeons before choosing Dr. Yen. I did not feel at ease with them, but Dr. Yen put me at ease right away. He will answer all of your questions and not rush you out of the consult, although he goes through the procedure in such detail, you may not have questions! Iowa Clinic Plastic Surgery has YouTube's of all the doctors, you should go watch his. :) If I were going to undergo any other elective procedures, Dr. Yen would be my choice.
