Dr. Lewis M Dubroff

Please do not believe the good reviews. This man/doctor is very mean! He makes people cry and I’ve been to many doctors throughout my lifetime and I am wondering how this man is allowed to continue his practice! Unbelievable!!

I had a very long wait time (over an hour) only to be rushed through the actual appointment. Dr. Dubroff treated me horribly, talked down to me, berated me, and refused to listen to me and my complaints. I wasn’t able to express all of the concerns and questions I had for him about my skin, as he didn’t want to listen to me, and just wanted to spend his time telling me I was wrong and didn’t know what I was talking about. He has horrible bedside manner, and doesn’t know what he is talking about on some skin care related issues. Would not recommend.

Poor communication, rude receptionist.

Unpleasant doctor with a rude demeanor and unprofessional manner. I warn people frequently about him when they mention their need for a dermatologist. I've heard the same from many other patients. He especially doesn't like being asked any questions.

Dr Dubroff is an excellent doctor. For those who complain about the wait, remember this: Dr Dubroff deals with skin issues as they arise. Sometimes the procedures are extensive. If you needed to have a procedure or removal, you would hope he took the time with you and not make you come back. So, next time you gave to wait, be kind

I had an awful experience with this Dr. the few times I had appointments, not to mention his rude and abrasive attitude. After driving the 2 1/2 hour round trip to the schedule appointments and sitting another hour before he would see me, I decided to find another doctor. I have seen Dr Dubroff for many years. He is the best at finding problems in early stages and treating them.

Abusive, cruel man. Was literally insulted by him—very poor bedside manner. Dubroff was dismissive of my issue which actually delayed me receiving proper care. Please, find another doctor, as i have done now. I went to the man for help and am worse off for the experience which is unacceptable.

He may be very knowledgeable, but I actively warn others not to use him as a doctor. I saw him as a teenager and couldn't believe how rude and condescending he acted toward me. I was an incredibly shy and polite teenager and gave no reason for him to be rude. Another teenage girl I know ended up leaving his office in tears because of his behavior. On the other hand, my grandfather couldn't say enough good things about him. Perhaps he just doesn't work well with young females.

Dr. Dubroff and his two assistants are simply amazing. Since February 2019, I have had three minor procedures done by Dr. Dubroff, and all of them were extremely satisfactory! Two moles were removed; just by looking at them, Dr. Dubroff was pretty confident that they were benign. And the biopsy results confirmed his opinion! What was the most amazing was that he quickly surgically removed two long-term sun spots that laser/photon treatments from other doctors failed to do so, and it was so minimally invasive. After all scab was totally gone the 6th day, new, fresh, skin, grew out with nearly even colour to the skin around. After two follow ups, Dr. Dubroff said I was good to go. I simply hope that Dr. Dubroff will never, ever, retire, so more people can benefit from his skills and experience! Dr. Dubroff and his two assistants are simply amazing. Dr. Dubroff saved my life. I have been a patient of his for almost 40 yrs. He truly cares. I am extremely fortunate and believe that Dr. D is the best at what he does.

He's extremely thorough and competent. I get checked once a year because skin cancer runs in my family, and he's found, removed and tested a number of things.

I just left Dr. Dubroffs office, and I have nothing but praise for this man. He tells it like it is, and is straightforward in diagnosis and remedy. If you're a pansy, go to some other place where they might sugarcoat your battered ego. If you want a Professional Dermatologist, see Dr. Lewis Dubroff. Period.

I was very pleased to have a good experience as a new patient of Dr. Dubroff. He is very knowledgeable of the field and very professional. I would recommend him to friends and family! The staff was very welcoming and nice as well!!

He’s the best. He saved my life when I had melanoma in 1986 and it’s 2018 and I’m still here! He always does biopsies as needed and his diagnoses have always been confirmed by the lab work. He calls with the results right away and delivers the verdict in a kind and easy to understand way. If surgery is required, he does it as soon as possible. In my opinion, there is no better dermatologist that Dr. Dubroff. I have been a patient for 30 years and trust him with our dermatology needs! Highly recommend!

I have gone to him for 30+ years. Wish he worked out of North Med. near my house. Wait time could be better, but the Staff keeps you informed. I have learned to wait 30 minutes before getting undressed (can be cold in exam rooms)! Doc and I seem to have similar political views.

The best!

Dr. Dubroff is a caring, knowledgeable physician. As others have written, it’s worth the wait to see him. I had melanoma 16 years ago. My plastic surgeon told me that Dr Dubroff was the best dermatologist in the area and I should try to become a patient. I see Dr Dubroff twice a year. His exams are thorough. When he tells me all is well, I believe him. Dr Dubroff does not suffer fools gladly. He is very bright and devoted to his work. I had to chuckle a bit after reading the reviews here. I have been a patient of Dr. Dubroff's for many years and have come to know him well. I have the utmost confidence in his ability to diagnose and remove anything suspicious. Dr Dubroff is fabulous! Very professional, understanding, and willing to help his patients no matter what! He always listens and answers any questions I may have until I feel comfortable! His staff is the most comforting and helpful staff I have ever met at a doctors office! You may wait a while, but he is definitely worth it! Not sure what I will do when he retires!

I have gone to him for over 30 years. He is smart and good and the best!

Very condescending and rude. Treated his staff awful. Walked out on my second visit that I didn't want to go to anyway and had results of biopsy sent to another dermatologist.

The doc told me that a condition that was causing me daily pain was "normal" and laughed at me like I was making it up. Then charged me a lot of money for the privilege.

Dr. Dubroff knows what he's doing and will treat you quickly and precisely. It's obvious he has a ton of experience and can be trusted with diagnoses. However, the experience with Dr. Dubroff can be unsettling. He comes off as abrasive from time to time. He may talk politics at you endlessly, but cut you off and rush you if you ask medical questions to try and understand your skin conditions better. He is not patient, and he sees your questions as an offensive sign that you don't trust him.

Dr. Dubroff is very knowledgeable, but he has very poor interpersonal skills. After diagnosing me with skin cancer, I had many questions. He very rudely told me I didn't need to ask questions, and berated me to the point that I started crying (which I have never done in a doctor's office). I told him that he was being very hard on me, to which he responded "You're being hard on ME!" Extremely unprofessional. Also, be prepared to wait at least an hour or two before your appointment.

Without a doubt, the creepiest doctor I've ever seen in my life. I used to have to go see him as a kid. Made odd comments about women's ages. Very dismissive of skin conditions I had. Used very invasive methods. Burned some warts off with liquid nitrogen, caused lots of scarring and chronically painful nerve damage. My pediatrician saw it and was appalled, and recommended a strong salicylic acid which cleared everything in a month. His methods are dated and barbaric. 4 hour wait times.

I am a Crouse employee. I called because I got his name from a friend for a dermatologist in the Crouse network. Horrible horrible attitude from the receptionist answering the phone. My first call I placed I asked if they were accepting new patients and she stayed verbatim "he is accepting a select few, what happens is I gather information and give it to him and he decides whether or not it's something he wants to take on or not if he does you'll get a call for an appointment if not you won't get a call"... Thought it was a little rude but just thought maybe she was just bust and flustered. I end up getting a call for an appointment.. I missed the call (because I was at work) when I call back the receptionist says, again verbatim "yea he would like to bring you on as a patient so we can schedule an appointment" and I say "okay thank you" she says "well what days are best for you" I say "I work at the hospital so I work a rotating schedule I have every other Friday/Monday off" she says "okay well are you going to tell me which Friday's and Monday's" I told her "this Friday and following Monday I am off" she said "oh no you are going to have to wait at least a couple of weeks" then proceeds to offer me an appointment for the "22nd" I asked if that was a Friday or Monday she replies "I SAIDDDDDDD Monday the 22nd" I told her on the spot to CANCEL MY APPT AND HUNG UP. She was SO rude. I will NEVER EVER EVER call back there and I will be sure I tell everyone I know about the HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I am a Crouse employee. After going to another dermatologist several times and making no progress, I switched to Dr. Dubroff. He knew on the first visit what the most effective treatment should be and he helped me immensely. I would definitely and highly recommend him.

This doctor was horrible. Not only was I waiting for a total of 2 hours...but he spoke to me condescendingly, and disrespectfully. You should feel comfortable to ask your doctor questions and give your concerns, however I left feeling worse/more unsure about my condition when I left than when I got there in the first place. I broke down in tears once I got home. His nurses were also extremely rude. He needs to RETIRE. Find a NICE and GOOD derm.

i have seen Dr. Dubroff for different reasons over several years, and every time he has been excellent. He is a very professional, caring doctor and takes time to make sure everything is understood. He was recommended to me by a doctor, and I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I left Dr. Lewis M. Dubroff's office this morning in tears. He was abrasive, rude, belittling and downright mean. I had called about two weeks ago and asked if he was taking new patients for acne treatments and was told he was. Once there, I was taken into the patient’s room. Two separate nurses came in and asked me pretty much the same questions during the 75 minutes I waited in the patient’s room for the doctor. I was asked to change into a gown, however once I explained to the second nurse that I really didn’t care to have my whole body checked at this point in time (my cyst acne is only on my face and really flaring up; I just wanted that taken care of!), she said that was okay. So, I didn’t change. I was not rude, maybe a little confused because I've seen a lot of dermatologists in the last 11 years and have never had to have my whole body checked like that, but definitely not rude or mean to the nurses. I believe this set Dr. Dubroff off, once he walked into the room and saw me in my street clothes still. He was just plain rude and treated me like DIRT. It was an all-around uncomfortable experience throughout the entire 80 minutes I spent in that office, the nurses were nice and all but it felt strange, until he started to explain in the most offensive way that he didn’t want to treat me because I was making him uncomfortable. He could tell from the 45 seconds he’d been in the room with me, apparently. THEN I was mad. In short, a professional doctor said to my face, I make him feel uncomfortable. If he didn’t think he was the right fit for me, isn’t there a more professional way for a doctor to say that, other than turning to me after treating me like dirt and telling me that I “make him uncomfortable”? After I took off from work and sat in that office for about 80 minutes, I left crying. I’m not a crier, people. It takes a lot to make me cry. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DR. LEWIS DUBROFF TO ANYONE. Dr. Dubroff always takes time to answer questions and he is very proactive in taking a careful look or biopsy of any suspicious skin growth. I have been extremely satisfied with the level of care I have received at his office.

Dr. Dubroff is the best!!! He has been absolutely phenomenal since me, my wife and daughter have been going to him. He has found abnormalities on me, found melanoma on a very close relative, and will spot check every square inch of your body. If you are able to get in, I highly recommend him.

Best dermatologist in central New York. Always treated with the utmost respect and compassion. Have been a patient for many years and have had numerous surgeries for skin cancers. Always very professional treatment along with a great sense of humor. All staff, including front office personnel always pleasant and treat patients with respect. Occasionally there is a wait, but nothing unbearable. Unforeseen complications may arise which take longer with a patient. A wait for the best in the business is well worth it. As a young adult I have experienced some moderate to severe acne. I have seen him for about 6 months and he has treated me and I am almost clear! Yes I have waited for him and he seems very busy! I am very glad he was able to take me. One thing I dislike is the secretary seems to lack a personality and never ever smiles.
