Dr. Toma explained at length the knee replacement surgery procedure. He was very patient and put my mind at ease.

Dr Toma replaced my hip in early December. I was off painkillers 3 days after surgery and traded in my walker for a cane after a week. A lot goes into pre-op preparations and post up recovery procedures. Dr Toma's office provided a series of step by step worksheets to follow, both pre-op and post op which were invaluable. Now, 3 months after surgery, I am able to do everything that I did before surgery including hanging sheetrock. Dr. Toma was available at all times. He did a great job and he's a great guy as well.

Dr Toma is the BEST! I had hip replacement and hip revision surgery over the past 2 years. Both surgeries went well. I am the hippest chick in town!! Dr Toma is easy to talk to and has a great personality. I wish I had a third hip that he could replace! ???? He is an incredible surgeon and I highly recommend him!

Dr. Toma is the best in the profession. He’s very knowledgeable of patients medical history before he performs procedures or surgery. I have been a patient of Dr. Tomas since 1994. He is honest, concise and very pragmatic. He’s gets to know his patients and deeply cares about them. His team is knowledgeable and caring in their approach to taking care of the people in their care. I’m also a fan of his PA Christine. Dr Toma is absolutely the very best! He is experienced, extremely knowledgeable and very intelligent. Dr. Toma had the ability to look at my situation and figure out a plan that has gotten me back to my active life. Dr Toma is really the best. He takes the time to make sure you are informed and are comfortable His staff are on point and give you the same excellent care that Dr Toma does. I can’t tell you how happy I am with my hip replacements. Yes, replacements. Both hips! I’m doing great and getting around like I used to just ask my grand daughters.

Dr Toma replaced both my knees when I was 68 & my hip when I was 69. I'm now approaching 80 and still hiking with my poodle regularly and without pain. And he is very nice.

In November of 2022 I had a left hip total arthroplasty procedure and the outcome is perfect. I was walking normally and pain free in only a few weeks. I can highly recommend Dr Toma and his team for the procedure.

Several people that I know recommended Dr. Toma for my hip surgery. Even someone who has Kaiser as their insurance. Dr. Toma has a great reputation in the community as a surgeon and I agree with everyone’s assessment of him. I found Dr. Toma to have a calm, friendly demeanor. Nothing seems to phase him. It’s been one month since my surgery and I’m already walking at least 2 miles each day. I highly recommend him for anyone who needs a new hip!

He was super professional. I have compete movement but still some muscle soreness. MY need a knee operation and will go to him if necessary.

I would highly recommend Dr. Louay Toma. He’ s top notch. He replaced my right hip and just recently my right knee. Did a fabulous job with both. I was up and about just a few days after the knee replacement with no pain.

Dr. Toma did my hip surgery. I was in so much pain and of course I waited until the pain became unbearable. I kept holding off, and I remember him telling me, "You ready now?" lol. I was like, "Yessss!". I really miss having him as a doctor, and things kind of went downhill for me and I had to relocate. Plus, other things I won't put on here. My insurance changed also, and that's terrible. He's a wonderful surgeon, and did a great job on me. I even got a signature on my hip, hahaha! It looks bad, but I healed up real well. Best surgeon in the world!! I had 2 hips and 1/2 knee replaced by him and if you follow what he says and go to physical therapy you won't have any problems.

Everything from start to finish was great - the surgery center, the nurses, the anesthesiologist Dr. Jared Mitchell and the Dr. Toma. I’m into it 4 weeks and the recovery seems to be going better than expected. Thank you Dr. Toma.

Dr. Toma is a most professional, capable, competent doctor and surgeon. He has replaced both my hips and I am living a wonderful life because of his fine work. I could not offer any higher recommendation to any doctor I have ever known.

Dr. Toma, along with his P.A. Christine Martinez, did great work for me. My recovery is going very well, indeed. I also liked that the surgery was NOT done in the hospital but in a "Surgery Center".

During my annual physical in May my PCP ordered some X-rays for my hips as I was having some mobility issues with my left hip and leg. The results showed that I had severe arthritis in both hips and that the cartilage was gone. He referred me to Dr Toma. I saw Dr Toma in July and he explained to me in great detail the issues with both hips and recommended hip replacement surgery for both with the left hip needing to be done first. At age 65 I had never had surgery or ever been an inpatient so I told him that I needed a couple of days to process his diagnosis. Several days later I contacted his office and we scheduled the surgery for September 15th and his staff patiently explained what needed to be done before the surgery date. The morning of the surgery I met Dr Toma and he put my mind at ease concerning the surgery and assured me that all would go well. He was right. Now 90 days after surgery and with the help of outstanding physical therapist I have great mobility and I can walk without any pain at all. Without any hesitation at all I would recommend Dr Toma to anyone who may be considering hip replacement surgery as his personal touch and his expertise in caring for his patients is a throwback to simpler times. You will not find a better Doctor/Surgeon anywhere so if you need a hip or knee replacement see Dr. Louay Toma he is a really great man and Doctor and he is the best at what he does without a doubt.

The absolute best, I had my second total hip arthroplasty (both with Dr. Toma) in May 2021 with great results! The staff at Muir Ortho also treated me with great care.

Dr. Toma is great! I researched him thoroughly including talking to his former patients and doctors such as anesthesiologists who have worked him in the past. Everyone raved about him I am in my 70's He replaced my hip and I was walking unaided within a week.

I was walking and climbing on avascular necrosis of the femoral head as a phone installer/repair lineman for 12 years. I finally had the sugary 04-20-2016 and it was a godsend. I was told by countless orthopedic surgeons that I would never go back to work in that type of field because of the limitations of traditional posterior replacement surgery. He was supposed to take the metal out of my leg that was causing pain, but he left a long screw in that acted like a fulcrum and snapped my leg in half. It has been a year and a half and I have had eight surgeries and I am currently bedridden again thanks to Dr. Toma.

Dr toma replaced my left hip in 09 and then my right hip in 2013, total replacement on each. I was walking on the same day of surgery. Dr Toma has mastered the anterior approach. The second surgery was done at their outpatient surgical facility on the second floor of his office building. Recovery was about six to seven months but ive had no problems with my hips, unlike my knee replaced 10 months ago from a doctor in the same medical group (name not mentioned).

I had a partial knee replacement May 2018. The outcome . . . . FLAWLESS. Another ortho indicated I needed a total knee replacement, Dr. Toma assured me that a partial was best, explaining my recovering would be quicker. In September 2018 I was able to return to a sport that requires forward, back and lateral movement. I feel fortunate to be under Dr. Toma's care. Additionally, each and every time I contacted a staff member, their assistance and help has been exemplary. Dr Toma is very professional. He replaced my hip and within 10 days I was off the walker and walking unaided. The recovery pain was minimal and I stopped the heavy pain meds within a month.

I had right hip replacement 2/28 at 7:30 am. I am 74. I was walking with a walker at noon on the day of surgery. No significant pain in the hospital and I never had to take a pain pill when I was released on the 29th. If I didn't have an incision I wouldn't be sure the hip was replaced? Dr Toma is a miracle man. I can go 30 minutes on the treadmill 20 days after surgery with no pain. Amazing!

Dr. Toma recently replaced my left hip. I previously had my right hip replaced by another Dr. I am so grateful to Dr. Toma as not only did he even out the lengths of my legs (which have been slightly off all my life but made worse after my first replacement from the other Dr) but the recovery was so much easier even though my muscles were stretched. His staff was also very professional. I highly recommend Dr Toma.

Dr. Toma performed total hip replacement on my right hip and I am happy to provide my 5-star rating. The administrative aspects of setting up the surgery through John Muir was occasionally bumpy, but, once I arrived for the actual surgery, the process went very smoothly. Dr. Toma did his artistry in about 65 minutes and 12 weeks later I am swimming, biking and running as I did before my hip started hurting me. Now, I don't have hip pain and instead I fuss with my shoulder, knee . . . :)

He has an excellent bed side manor. Always positive and readily available to answer questions he made my mom feel comfortable with both hips being replaced.
