Dr Hahnfeld and her entire staff were amazing! We had a list of questions, possible complications, best/ worse case scenarios regarding before, during, and after surgery, and she answered them all. Dr Hahnfeld is direct and sugar coat things which we loved. She and her staff also answered multiple questions we messaged them on my chart, really quickly. Her assistant, that assisted with the surgery, met with us each day in the hospital and was just as thorough. Dr Hahnfeld talked with family after surgery and explained how things went and what to expect. Our case was referred to her threw the ER and she scheduled us for a clinic appointment immediately, which also impressed us. The surgery went well and as a result of her expertise and surgical skills the recovery period was shorter and went better than we had anticipated. Refused to remove a kidney stone lodged in my ureter tube. Also had me removed from hospital when I had a very serious life-threatening infection and debilitating kidney pain. I was hospitalized 6 times, had 6 CT scans, 4 botched surgeries. Refused to help me even after Dr. Gloria Song, Nephrologist, told me if Hahnfeld refused to remove the infected kidney stone that I would lose my right kidney. After 4 months of severe pain, severe diarrhea from strong antibiotics I lost a tremendous amount of blood in the toilet. After 4 months of non-care my fiancé rushed me to St. Mary’s Hospital and tried to carry me in to find a wheelchair. I could not walk and was too ill to sit up. I had not slept for 4 months due to severe kidney pain and several infections which landed me in the ICU for days. The ICU doctor read my blood and urine test results and spoke to me. He said, “You’re not gonna make it.” I do not believe I told my fiancé that message because he had just had 2 very serious surgeries and I did not want to worry him. He had been asked to step out of the room. The nurses and nurses aides saved my life, what is left of it. My quality of life is not what it was or should be. I am suffering. I also lost a fine man because I did not tell him how horribly I was suffering. My children discussed putting me in a nursing home. I now do not have enough red blood cell platelets which was never an issue prior to this horrific incident. I sincerely hope they weed out 2 urologists who do not belong in healthcare.

Reassured my fiance that her "other" doctor was great, but gave no insight into the problem. Not very helpful.

Dr Hahnfeld doesn't explain all the possibilities of complications after surgery and her staff acts like what you are experiencing isn't normal. This causes undue anxiety and stress.

I have had 2 surgeries with 2 doctors, she did the best of both. But I was not allowed to meet with her after the surgery.
