Dr Barnes is a master gynecologic oncology surgeon and highly respected.collegaue. he's operated on multiple family members and I cant say enough good things about him

Dr Barnes was wonderful and I really appreciate him removing cysts from my ovaries instead of removing my ovaries with them. I wasn’t ready for menopause and I really appreciate his approach and bedside manner. I feel safe and comfortable with him.

Great doctor that cares about his patients. The medical world needs more Dr Barnes. He was able to remove my cysts and save my ovaries.

Dr. Barnes is an exceptional physician. His surgical skills are amazing, and he has come to understand how important it is to effectively communicate with his patients! He’s the BEST, and I have recommended him to people who may be dealing with GYN cancers.

Dr. Barnes was an excellent communicator and physician. His personalization from phone calls, physical care, and surgery, was exceptional. I trusted him with my endometrial cancer, and his staff went above and beyond their call to duty, including Brooke, and Brittany Welch, who were some of my nurses. Cancer is a hard pill to swallow, but to have a doctor that does not care about his patients is even harder. Mr. Barnes did my sister surgery, he removed left ovary called her on the phone six days later to tell her that the mass he removed including her ovary was cancerous and he would have to remove right ovary never was told what kind of cancer what stage anything. However our mom called to talk with him went to the hospital to see him to no avail, but nurse called on Thursday to say that he would call Friday and nothing. My mom had to go to hospital on Monday and saw him outside of his office for him to say he didn't get the message. Now, I am not here to bash anyone but I hope Mr. Barnes read this and maybe change his ways for the people that he serve because being a doctor is very important and being a cancer doctor is extremely important, so just have some type of compassion to show that you care or just concerned about one's Life. So if you have a love one that is going through this hard time in their life you may want to find another doctor that will show some concern and explain things to you so you will have some type a clue to what is going on and not guessing. And yes I know that doctor's are not miracle workers because I trust that God have answers that doctors don't.

Dr. Barnes and his entire staff are AMAZING. The most thorough and kind doctor. I had surgery for endometriosis because of severe Abdominal pain, but my secondary concern was infertility. He went out of his way to get a colleague of his (a reproductive endocrinologist) to join him in the surgery to ensure all my reproductive organs looked great. He has an amazing bedside manner. I would also like to say nurse Brooke is incredible. So is the sweet lady who does the insurance. And honestly everyone else at his Brookwood clinic I’m just drawing a blank on names. I would also like to add all the nurses in the gynecology surgery/women’s surgery center at Brookwood we’re amazing, and so were the ladies who checked me in, and so was the lady in the admissions office. I can’t say enough good things! Thank you Dr. Barnes and company!

He saved my life . I was the worst patient a Dr. and nurse could have at the time . I’m so appreciative for their love and kindness. UAB , chemo department deserves a badge of honor also .

Dr. Barnes is the kind that takes each person to heart as an individual. He's there for you and he has your back. He listens to your conceens as a person and does not treat you like a number. I have trusted him with my life and would do so again.

Dr. Barnes is the best. I wish he was my regular doctor. Dr. Barnes and his team took great care of me from my first visit to my last after surgery. He is a very caring doctor that is able to answer all questions. I highly recommend him.

What an amazing Doctor! He performed my surgery to remove a rather large cyst while I was 13 weeks pregnant. He was excellent from the personal phone calls & the detailed explanation of the surgery!! Sad I don't need him as a doctor anymore, but know who to call if I ever need to in the future!!!
