About Dr. Maleeha A Ahsan
Reviews for Dr. Maleeha A Ahsan
All I can say is run run as fast as you can!! She had my brother for over 3 years and made him worse by over meditating him and destroying his life!! She doesn’t care about her patients and always wants them to be this hospitalised and medication. If you ask her, what is the side affect on the medication she doesn’t know and doesn’t care. I don’t know how she is still in practice!! Please see someone else
Dr. Ahsan has been taking care of me for years always available always fills my meds on time it's unfortunate that people find a way to always blame doctors I think you're great doctor Ashan and I want to thank you for everything you do for me. Julie Z
DO NOT EVEN THINK OF BEING A PATIENT OF MALEEHA! SHE IS A HORRIBLE DOCTOR> I WOULD GIVE HER A 0 ON THE SCALE
Brother was admitted to the hospital after being aggressive due to mental illness (schizophrenia). She said he was doing well in the hospital but when he returned home after being medicated he was worse than when he was admitted. Continued fighting with family and we are unable to reach her at the doctors office. No follow ups and it has only gotten worse. Seek medical care elsewhere where the doctor actually cares about the patients success post release
Trying to describe what it's like with this doctor reminds me of what happens to many police officers after they've seen too many awful things. This doctor takes any situation and makes it into what she knows. What she knows is mental illness, so every patient she sees has mental issues no matter what they're seeing her for. Unfortunately my fiance got to learn this the hard way. I brought her in because of a bad reaction to a pill, and Ahsan quickly decided my fiance needed a full week of being held captive in her mental ward. She holds the power of keeping patients as long as she wants once she deems them unwell and it's horrifying. Please, if you read this and are thinking of bringing yourself or a loved one in for help, try another hospital first. There HAS to be better care out there.
I brought my fiance to Good Sam with a bad reaction to a pill she took. My fiance was confused and disoriented so Ahsan decided instead of treating her for that, to put her in the psych unit in the hospital, totally unable to give me the reason for it besides talking about her past(my fiance had some issues years back). She locked her up for 6 days as a mental patient rather than treating her for what we took her in for in the first place. I can't even imagine what it would take to go back to that hospital or be anywhere this doctor works again. The experience has been surreal and scary that this woman has total control if she deems you a psych patient. The hospital is 3 minutes from our home but we will never go back there again. I'd rather drive the extra time than risk something like this ever happening again.

Dr Maleeha Ahsan is wonderful, she has been great with my two step-kids. She communicates with both of them and tries to keep them on the right path of healthy.
My son was released from inpatient care and told to pick up meds. Dr. did not call pharmacy and check that all would be fine. Insurance wouldn't release meds for 3 days. Called Dr. Ahsan for help as my son was now without meds for 24 hours and not doing well. Her service gave me another doctor who said not our problem it is insurance problem. I said I need help and he said stop being sarcastic and hung up. No where to go for help and can't believe a doctor would not help and push it off on someone else. Should be 0 stars. All the work my son did is now gone.
Dr Ahsan is quick to medicate and over medicate. She does not listen to her patients and as a result is not creating an evidenced based plan of care as a detailed patient history is needed to establish care. Twice I had family members pumped up with drugs by her. If I could I would give zero stars. I find it frightening that families who are new to addiction may have her as their first resource.
Prescribed blacklisted meds to a patient in liver failure until she died at 32. Accepts zero responsibility and takes no accountability. Office staff extremely rude and cold, should they ever decide to take you off their standard 10-minute holds. They also refuse to pass messages to the doctor, regardless of the importance.
Would not recommend her taking care of a family member.
Doctor seemed very caring and looked out for my well being.
Incompetence that has led to my misdiagnosed symptoms of severe depression and anxiety

Very knowledgeable about the effects of medications. Explains reasons for medications she prescribed. Listens well. Provides excellent feedback and compassion. I highly recommend her.
After an acute bout of severe depression (a suicide plan in place which was hidden by me from everyone) and panic attacks, (and an obviously schizophrenic psychotic break which I kept under wraps from anyone i knew-professional and personal,) dr. Ahsan calmly told me I need to get back onto my medication. Not sure if it's because I'm an adult now or she has special powers, but this is the first time I blindly put faith into my doctor with very good results. I gained...a whole lot, [which is in my eyes, the world's biggest understatement] by having Maleeha treat me like a rational human being-I must say, first and only doctor I've met that treated me, an alleged schizoaffectoid, with such blind respect. She helped me, 15 minutes a session, with no subjective judgements, gain my confidence. I've never had it before with the chronic major depression and all. I'm thinking of finally quitting drinking and smoking to drown my sorrows (from a ptsd-like existence and experience..es.) The meds work great: lexapro, buspar, and ziprasidone. Only complaint is no appetite, but for a hearty meal loving gal like me, that too is kind of a blessing. Tired of having body dysmorphia, I'm 25 130 pounds (tmi much?), tired of my o.c.d. and neurosis, tired of the constant berating self beat ups for literally nothing, and tired of being so goddamn sensitive to what people think about me. All that's gone now. I'm trying not to go overboard with this post, but I think I might have some love for someone in the pharmaceutical business, finally. I can breathe easy and stop walking around sighing from the deep pain I've felt in my soul spot for ohhh, much too long. Maleeha Ahsan you're kind of the best, thanks for making me back into a human with a voice and a personality! You always return my calls, and listen to me and work around my needs. Magic doctor, hooray, there's actually a GOOD one in the world. Condescending and cold. A pill pusher who doesn't check dangerous combinations and she has absolutely no empathy for mental illness and addiction complications - I am a mother of a mentally ill son and she represents everything I would hope my son wouldn't have to deal with while he tries his best to get help.

I've seen Dr. Ahsan for over 10 years. She treated me when I had a psychiatric break, was on medical leave from my job and I didn't understand what was happening to me. Further, I didn't believe it. It took well over two months on a few anti-psychotics before I began to think rationally. In fact towards the end I hazily remember discussing electro-shock therapy. Her treatment led me out of that break and the deep depression that followed. And then, return to a near normal life as bipolar on meds
