My mother had a stroke. She was under the care of Dr. Hellner for 2 occurrences of breast cancer. Dr. Hellner and her PA laughed at my mother when her neurologist said she should be checked for cancer after her stroke. We finally got a PET scan, which showed cancer throughout her body. My mother was dead from cancer 4 months later. Stay away from this incompetent, cold and uncaring Dr!

My mother saw Dr. Hellner for several years after breast cancer surgery. She and her PA did not do much, but my mom thought it was important they check yearly. My mother had 2 strokes in August. Her neurologist said checked for cancer as a cause. She had an apt with Dr. Hellner's PA who laughed at us and said it was ridiculous. She brought in the doctor because I insisted. She agreed, and they were very flippant about it. They said the only thing to do is a mammogram, which had already been done. I did not know enough to request a PET scan. The neurologist could not believe it, and tried to contact her personally to explain, he was shocked she never called back. It turned out my mother did have cancer, Hellner cost us precious time. My mother is now in hospice care. Doctor Hellner did not have the interest or maybe training to order the testing my mother needed. This was her one job. Thankfully, she had an excellent neurologist and cardiologist. Find a better doctor!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. I first saw an oncologist (male) recommended to me as the "best" in the city (Charlotte, NC). I did not prefer his style. A friend told me later that I should choose my doctors carefully as I would have to lean on each and trust their opinions. With that, I searched for a female oncologist and found exactly what I was looking for in Dr. Heller. Although going to the doctor when you're going in for cancer treatment, I can honestly say that I looked forward to my visits with her. She took her time. Was compassionate, gave me as much information as I needed, and listened thoughtfully to the questions and concerns I had. I cannot imagine having to take this journey with the first doctor and was actually very sad when after 8 years, she informed me that there was no longer a need for her to see me. Dr Hellner is fantastic! I would recommend her in a heartbeat! She is good, smart, helpful, considerate, and caring. She is an excellent doctor!

Dr. Hellner is so wonderful. I had a scary situation recently, and she worked with her team to get me a special medication for a condition that could have been very bad, and my condition is now better! I am so very thankful for Dr. Hellner and I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Dr Hellner is one of the best physicians I have ever been to. Not only did she explain my treatment plan in detail, but she also answered all of my questions thouroughly. I did not feel rushed and felt like she really cared about me and my condition. Her office staff is friendly and courteous. Scheduling appointments was easy and I can quickly get through to her nursing staff when I call. I would highly reccomend Dr Hellner to all family and friends:

Dr. Hellner as an overall physician is a very caring and compassionate physician. I would recommend her highly. The only drawback on her professionalism would be she does not follow-through on follow ups and reporting results from any diagnostic testing she orders for you.
