Dr. Mario Tuchman

Waited close to an hour before family member was seen by Dr Tuchman. When Dr Tuchman arrived in exam room it seemed as the Doctor had just awaken from a nap. He seemed uninterested in my family members issue, didn’t discuss what he reviewed on the xray. My family members neuromuscular doctor reached out to Dr Tuchman to discuss my family members issue, as Dr Stange is one of a kind and truly cares about his patients and goes above and beyond. Not sure how Dr Tuchman is receiving 5 stars. Hes definitely not someone I would like to do business with again. Such as life, will move on to someone else. I do not recommend Dr Tuchman.

Very professional and helpful office and Dr Tuchman was great. Knowledgeable and thorough, and very patient when answering my questions.

Had appointment at 2:15pm on 1/27/2023, and arrived 10 minutes prior to appointment. Waiting area had 3 other people. Didn’t seem as if there would be a lengthy wait. About 15 minutes after arrival, my family member was seen by office manager, basic questions to confirm address were asked. We were then advised to go back to waiting room and would be called. 10 minutes later we were bought into Dr. Tuchman’s examination room and waited half an hour. When Dr. Tuchman arrived in the exam room, he looked as if he’d just awaken from a nap, sleep or whatever you want to call it. He seemed uninterested, very shallow, saw my family member for maybe 10 minutes the most, just to tell us that he doesn’t handle tinnitus, although his website indicates he does. Definitely will not recommend Dr. Tuchman.

Everyone on the staff especially Betsy was outstanding. I was quite nervous, there to have a tooth pulled with bone grafting. They were so good in assuring me I would be fine and with anesthesia would not feel anything. They were right. I felt nothing. By the time I arrived home, I felt some pain. Took the meds they prescribed, and this morning I feel no pain at all. I will definitely be back for any other oral surgery. Everyone on the staff especially Betsy was outstanding. Dr Tuchman, Betsy and team are all friendly and helping people. My procedure was really smooth from the second I scheduled. I would recommend coming here for any oral surgery

From office management to oral surgeon - top notch in every step of the way! Never had a dental experience that has been so seamless as with these guys. Dr. Mario is super good and well experienced, and I would recommend him and the rest of this super nice and professional staff to anyone!

I was experiencing wisdom tooth Pain for the longest and was always scared to get them removed since it was an impacted wisdom tooth . I was referred to Dr. Tuchman by another dentist so I felt very confident going to see him. All I have to say is that he is very smart, informative and attentive with his patients . If you need oral surgery do not look any further make it about your business to schedule with him . I drove from far just to go see him . I have to remove my other wisdom teeth and you better believe that this is my spot. Matthew is great answering any questions you may have . This office is good at answering the phones and emails. Dr. Tuchman was professional and the surgery went ok. I went to him because his reviews were good. Office staff was extremely nice at first until you try to dispute additional charges thats when they get nasty. The issues I experienced is billing related. I was told that they checked my insurance prior to the surgery to make sure the procedure was covered. Having known that I would have to pay out of pocket, which I did, close to $2,000 dollars. I was told by my insurance that they weren’t billing at the contractual rate and that there was an item left off the claim. Felt completely taken advantage of since I’ve learned that many doctors have in Manhattan increased their rates. (We are in the midst of a pandemic and people are losing their jobs). But this is how doctors are handling situations by maximizing their profits. The practice did nothing to rectify the situation other than get nasty on the phone, tell me they won’t submit another claim and hang up on me.

I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed. He is amazing. The procedure was seamless. Aside from the normal swelling and soreness, I had no additional aches and pains. I cannot explain how grateful I am. I had an emergency wisdom tooth situation in the middle of the Civid lockdown and no dentist would want to see me. Thankfully, Doctor Tuchman was there serving the community and he took great care of me. The whole procedure was seamless. I had my tooth removed and was able to eat and get back to normal as of the day after the operation. I didn’t feel any pain at all. Totally recommend if you are in need of an oral surgeon. Calling into Dr. Tuchman's office to schedule his appointment was a pleasant experience off the bat. The receptionist is very responsive and I like that this office follows up with an email with details about the appointment and allows you to fill out paperwork beforehand. Scheduling an appointment was easy, he has availability that can work with many schedules. Dr. Tuchman removed 4 impacted wisdom teeth for me at once. I did have to wait in the office and then in the chair for about 30min - 1 hour which was a little unnerving, but I understand he was working on appointments before me. Since my wisdom teeth were close to nerves and sinuses, I was asked to take a special xray that cost a few hundred dollars that would really help him with locating exactly where to make the cut. I was put under for the surgery with no issues and afterwards the surgery was pretty much painless, with a tolerable amount of soreness in the weeks afterwards on pain meds and antibiotics. I did take off 3 days off work since my swelling was intense. I wish I was given some device to flush out my gums since I definitely would have gotten an infection if I hadn't found my own syringe (needle removed) to use, but I also didn't call into the office to ask about this. Dr. Tuchman is nice, knowledgeable and... looks like a doctor you'd see in a TV drama. He explained everything that he needed to do... and why... in a way I could understand. His office manager and nurses were friendly and helpful (even though the office was obviously busy). Outstanding in every way -- the staff, Dr. Tuchman, the experience. Friendly, knowledgeable, organized, skilled, reassuring. patient -- all words to describe everyone I met along the way. Having an extraction is no picnic, but feeling like you're getting the best possible care takes all the pain away. I cannot say enough about this practice.

This place is very nice clean the Doctor is great and so are all his assistants. Has great hands and treats patient very nice. I'm afraid of going to the Dentist but I go every 6 months. Went to my regular Dentist for my 6 month cleaning and also was in pain. When they found an impacted wisdom tooth in my Jaw I was told to go to a hospital setting but my dentist referred me to Dt. Tuchman who told me my cause was very difficult but that he could take care of me. He was great at removing the wisdom tooth. Gentle touch! Sweet Dentist and understands the fear some patients have. You're reading this because you're probably about to get your wisdom teeth extracted. I had to get three extracted in one sitting after not going to the dentist for over 5 years, and I usually get very nervous with any dental work, but Dr. Tuchman and Matthew (the office manager) made the whole experience quite literally painless. Dr. Tuchman is a fantastic oral surgeon, calm, collected and professional, as with Matthew who was very pleasant to deal with. I had absolutely zero issues after the whole procedure, which I went under for and felt nothing during, and days afterwards, felt almost no pain at all. I didn't even have to take any pain meds! This was a wonderful experience all-around. Everyone there from the reception to the nurses and doctors were super nice, patient and knowledgeable and I would absolutely recommend the practice without any hesitation. The Dr. even called post visit to see how I was feeling. 5 stars all-around!

One of the best oral surgeons in NYC

He's great, and I'm hard to impress. I had an implant service procedure, and he knew his stuff, straight shooter. Great bedside manner. Gentle touch. I have a sufficient amount of experience with other oral surgeons in the city; I am inclined to say, he is one of the best.

I have had an excellent experience at Dr. Tuchman's office. I needed to have 4 wisdom teeth extracted and as I'm not from the USA and I had never had any kind of surgical procedure done before I was very nervous. Dr. Tuchman made me feel so at ease with his kind, calm and confident bedside manner. He made sure to explain everything to me, he showed me exactly what he was going to do/how it was going to work and I felt I could ask as many questions as I needed, both of him and of his office staff via email in the lead up to the surgery. The surgery was such a smooth experience, it was over within an hour, I didn't feel any pain and I had hardly any swelling and no bruising at all. I was worried afterwards about how the healing process was going so Dr. Tuchman slotted me in last minute to give me a follow up exam. I would highly recommend him and his team. Great surgeon and fantastic practice I went to Dr Tuchman for an implant and service was impeccable. Dr Tuchman is an excellent surgeon and takes care of his patient. Unlike numerous surgeons in the city, you are treated like a patient and not a client. I moved to London about 4 years after the implant (I never took the time to do the crown). The dentist in London needed information about the implant and it took Dr Tuchman's team only a day to send me the brand and specs of the implant. Outstanding service from a top notch oral surgeon! It's tough sometimes going to the dentist, and worse when you need to have a tooth out. Dr Tuchman is not only skilled at treating patients, but he takes time to EXPLAIN things to you. And there is something great about getting in the chair, going to sleep, and waking up to have it done. You have a lot of choices in Manhattan, but few worthy of your time. Dr Tuchman certainly is.

My experience with Dr Tuchman was outstanding from beginning to end. I had to have extensive bone grafting work done due to complications from another procedure with another oral surgeon and now I can smile without hesitation! It really has been a life changing experience for me. I really cannot thank Dr Tuchman and his staff enough.
